I’ve honestly NEVER had the axis powers work in conjunction with one another. Other then one being the aggressor and taking preassure off the other.

RE: Engalnd: 2 bomber buy?
i dont know…it seems like if America simply focused on being able to put their thumb down on Japan and Germanys ability to build at their full capbilities, it frees up Russia and Britain to rock out.

RE: Africa, should you buy an IC?
ive built one as germany. it worked ok. It allowed me to control most of africa, plus I was able to sneak some arm up into southern russia.

RE: No income islands
If you can own something with little or no risk, own it.
The Solomon Islands is prolly the most valuable freebie on the map.how do you get that?

RE: Engalnd: 2 bomber buy?
I typically only buy an AA gun if I have a gunless complex on a territory worth at least 3 that has been bombed by my opponent, AND he has kept his bomber within striking distance of the complex, AND I don’t have other pressing purchases that need to be produced at that complex. So, not often.

Exactly, its relatively early in the game and Im doing a lot of harassing attacks. So he more concerned with trying to strenthening the front lines right now.

RE: Russian strategy qustions….
perhaps. maybe it comes down to knowing your opponent and designing a strategy around him.

ahaha, also amazing!!!

RE: German Builds
Yeah I like to stagger offensive / defensive rounds of purchasing habits. This isn’t an absolute but in theory what I’d buy would reflect what I lost most of (offense or defense) the round before.

once again, i fully agree with lost tribe…

RE: No income islands
I still think you are better off jsut skipping them. why take wake, when you could go a space more and capture something that brings in IPC’s and still can be used as a bomber platform?
-
RE: German navy
are you better off just buying infantry to defend your shore rather then buy navy?
-
RE: New National Advantage idea….
thats true, but the idea of mechanized infantry, was utilized MORE by the russians though not the classic first thought as the US is.

RE: Engalnd: 2 bomber buy?
Remember that India and Manchuria you can only bomb for a total of 3IPC.
Your net gain from bombing a normal industrial complex is calculated as follows:
5/6 of the time you average 3.5 IPC
1/6 of the time you average -15 IPC
Multiply them out and you get an expected average net gain of .4 IPC per turnFor a MAN or IND complex without AA gun, the average net gain would be 2.5 IPC
For a MAN or IND complex with AA gun, the average net gain would be:
5/6 of the time you average 2.5 IPC
1/6 of the time you average -15 IPC
Multiply them out and you get an expected average net loss of -.4 IPC per turnIf there are no AA guns at IND or MAN then they are worth hitting, but if they have guns I wouldn’t risk it.
I should have mentioned that. He has no Anit aircraft guns. And he forgot to buy them the last round, cause lets be honest, how often do you buy anti aircraft guns?

RE: New National Advantage idea….
true, but unless A&A comes out wiht Half tracks im not sure that applies.

RE: Engalnd: 2 bomber buy?
i just started a new game with the roomies last ngiht, and Im buying bombers with US. 1 on US1 and 2 on US2. im going to keep oscilating between one and two until I’m able to hit every IC for the Axis.
He built an IC in india (captured by jap) and I bomb that, plus the one in manchuria, japan, Germany and SEU. A lot of good damge to be done.

HAHAHAHA>…pissing for distance? I love it.!

RE: Russian strategy qustions….
Possibly, but you might waste units that would have been better used in a more STRENGTHENED defensive line….
Short version of reply:
That is to say, Russia does not need to pull back early, thus giving Germany additional territory and IPCs, and Russia less territory and IPCs. As long as Russian is capable of putting up a fight, it should do so.
I see. so what about the idea that if you pull back, germany may over extend itself, thus allowing a counterattack on turn 2?

RE: New National Advantage idea….
It’s called mechanized infantry which is a US National Advantage. I don’t really have a problem with Russia having it as well as long as you take away Trans-Siberian Rails.
Sorry, im fairly new to revised. Any idea why the gave it to US??

New National Advantage idea….
In world war two, a squad of infantry would ride on the back of a tank for fast attack capabilities.
So as sort of an add onto the idea that an attacking artillery can make an infantry attack at a level two, I think Russia should have the national advantage of each tank being able to take ONE infantry on its back and move that infantry two spaces with it….thoughts?so for instance, if germany left a west russia open (hypothetically), a russian tank could take one russian infantry and blitz THROUGH west russia, and into one of the other surround areas for an attack.

RE: Russian strategy qustions….
Any thoughts on the idea of just pulling russia back in teh west to a line involving JSUT russia and the Caucusus.  MY thought being that Russia could then just defend those TWO countries instead of trying to hold all four territories ont he front.  ALSO germany would have to spread itself to defend which would make for some easy straffing missions.
Here is my thought.
I have a horse that is worth two dollars.
However, I will sell it to you for twenty dollars.
Wouldn’t you like to own a twenty dollar horse?
