I’m still surprised how far this  Cruiser balance issue is still bringing up different ways to solve it.

Simon, I am also baffled by what happened in Russia since we are missing the critical first few rounds in that BM game.  Adam is one of the top players, if not the top player, in the world and I am sure that he didn’t make mistakes.  Unfortunately the thread missed out on the initial setup and openings so I can’t explain how Moscow was so easily captured.  Regardless, the Allies are still very much alive and the combined factories in Egypt and Iraq are making it very tough for the Axis to push further south.  I am sure that Adam will fly over a bunch of planes when it is critical to make a stand in the oilfields.

I’ve lost ANZAC to Japan and US and I agreed not to waste the resources to liberate it and instead focus on invading Japan and I’ll take USSR and start liberating China.

Now this is an interesting tactic that Japan can do that we do not normally experience. It is not a new or awe inspiring plan of attack BUT it is borderline all or nothing.

Japan goes J1 DOW or J2 at the latest.

Japan Navy goes all in at ANZAC. Stages in the Caroline Islands, sets ups the Queensland invasion. Japan Army goes all in on the UK crush plan of attack and forgets about holding North China and pushes all south. The Japan navy needs to go all in to defend their ANZAC gains from the USA and force the USA to banzai attack with what ever navy they have.

By J5 ANZAC has fallen, perfect execution and ANZAC is out of the game on J4 and UK Pacific is on the ropes for a J6 conquest.

End of J7 and Axis claim victory and the Allied players sulk in the corner drinking their beer and wondering, what just happened? or they hit the forum and complain that J1 is total cheese and the rules need to be amended.

Except in our game, the Japanese made poor choices in the war. While Japan was knocking on India’s door in our game, I had China rolling excellent on defense so he wasn’t able to completely knock China out. Plus his northern fleets were very weak and US was in good position to conquer Japan and his southern fleet he used to attack ANZAC could in no way get up to Japan fast enough.

Admirals and Generals are collectively known as Flag Officers, at least in some nations, so you could use that single term for both categories.

No, the first one is not Italian. It is a Romanian I.A.R. over the Ploesti oil fields.

The second is a Hawker Typhoon.

The third is definitely Italian per the roundel, which can just be made out on the starboard wing.

I agree with everything you say GHG, but as LHoffman pointed out Bettman is merely doing the owners’ bidding, which is the role of the modern commissioner. The position is no longer a “caretaker of the game” but a pit bull used in mauling the player unions during collective bargaining agreements.

The funny thing is Nashville fans should have been appreciate of Bettman since sunbelt expansion and team preservation is one of his primary legacies. Let’s see the result of this Cup run on the Predators’ TV ratings next year, which were laughably low this season.

As you can see CWO, Japan is more or less stationed in Saigon and the Philippines protecting there money islands they have control of after 4 turns.
Also they seem to be buying a few more bombers due to there range from airbases in Saigon and the Philippines.

This setup does change the game for Japan and the allies. Right now it is making UK spend more money in the Pacific as far as more ships.
It also has made the US buy more in Europe due to UK has no control in Africa and not spending any money in Europe side. The US right now is doing Operation Torch for support in Africa but may shift to London with troops. With the UK Pacific ship buy support, its seems to give US a little more room to focus some troops else where.

UK is not split up as for as the money goes. They start with 75 icps and can buy anywhere. If this was a split economy ( UK, Canada,  FEC, and Anzac ) it would probably make the US buy all in the Pacific because UK Pacific side would be in a world of hurt with Japan focusing everything down by thee islands.

Just thought you like to see how it was going with the territory value changes and moves.

I don’t plan to buy the expansion (and I’m an expansion whore, so this is a big deal).

I like the new ships, but I really dislike the cinematic combat (and I really liked the interaction between dice and tactic cards in the original system).

I do like the new ships and green dice, but the leaders - while I don’t dislike them - only serve to dilute our chances of recruiting each of the classic characters which I like a lot more.

Combine Venezuela/Colombia/Ecuador, Chile/Bolivia/Peru, and Argentina/Paraguay/Uruguay together. No need to change IPC values.

From a playability standpoint it makes no sense to have 9 little countries across the continent.

I play it like this and things can get interesting.

I was able to get the names font, but the number font is a licensed font, so I bought that. I have the water layer and the sea zone layer in. Ive decided to redo the entire map from scratch though, retaining the gameplay, same zones etc. My French units are in the decal phase, so after I post them, ill start my map thread. Again, if its edits you like, let me know.

You’ll still sometimes see the damaged Bismark attacked in SZ112, even with the 3 plane scramble.

But let’s go with your premise. The SZ91 cruiser and SZ109 DD can still attack your Bismark in SZ110 and then the planes can retreat to Gibraltar for a SZ92 stack . I would guess that this presumes that there was no scramble in SZ110. So perhaps if the UK scrambles anyway, the Bismark might survive the attack and the UK might not be able to weaken Italy.
