    • RE: Early take down of Sydney

      @Shin:

Has this ever worked for anyone?  Not the specific strat MoW proposed - though I agree that’s the best way to go - but any taking of ANZAC before India.  I’ve done it a few times, but I’ve lost the game every time.

I think it’s a lot like Sealion.  Even when you win, you lose.

It’s the lack of progressive income that hurts Japan whether it’s a Sydney crush, or Calcutta crush. Any strategy that ignores the money islands for a quick capital is an unnecessary risk IMO. Even if you get a capital J3 or J4, all your initial resources have been spent taking it and your weak economy can’t bounce back, meanwhile your newly taken capital is extremely vulnerable to liberation.

    • A&A 1940 Global National Objective Card Deck

A&A 1940 Global National Objective Card Deck

      From Young Grasshopper…

      Hello everyone,

I had created a national objective card deck and provided it here, however… there were a few errors and the cards were misaligned. Therefore, with a little help from Stauffenberg …we are providing a new link to a card deck with the errors corrected and the cards aligned for easy cutting. Just want to say thanks to Stauffenberg, here is his post…

      From Stauffenberg…

      _Hey folks,

after asking YG for his permission, I am offering his cards (without houserule cards) in a slightly modified version.

They are still mainly YG’s work and he remains the author of them.

I just changed the font to a mil stencil type. While doing so, I revised some of the headlines and texts, the latter mainly to fit into the box with the new font and also to “correct” minor things that differed from the rulebook. I also corrected the “Egypt-mistake” that YG pointed out on one of the Italian NOs.

Last but not least, I rearranged the cards on the printing sheets so that they line up and are therefore a lot easier to cut out.

To get regular sized cards, print both sheets onto DIN A3 or Ledger/Tabloid format paper.
To get mini cards, print the sheets onto DIN A4 or Letter format paper.

I had mine printed on heavy cardboard (300g/m) at a local copy shop, it is not necessary to laminate them if printed on such stiff cardboard.

      Here they are, enjoy:_

_And many thanks to Young Grasshopper for providing these in the first place!!!

      Best wishes_

@robson unfortunately no, and I’m not sure if there will ever be one unless someone does it for me… I don’t have the time to learn how.

    • Global 1942 Scenario by Larry Harris

Larry Harris has created a 1942 setup scenario which can be played using the 1940 Europe and Pacific 2nd Edition boards and game pieces. This scenario is not intended to replace the existing 1940 Global setup, it is simply an alternative way to play especially for tournaments. When creating threads for discussion of this scenario, please include the acronym “G42” in your topic title for easy identification, or feel free to post here in this thread.

Found a YouTube channel of someone teaching A&A 1942, Lets subscribe to his channel, lets like his videos, and lets send him encouragement to keep it up the good work… so many A&A YouTubers stop what they’re doing because they don’t get the support.
