RE: Questions & Comments for Young Grasshopperposted in Young Grasshopper
@CaptainNapalm said in Questions & Comments for Young Grasshopper:
Hi, YG. Any thought of allowing the alliance to pick its fortune of war breakthrough, rather than relying on a D6 roll?
If you want to bring some unknown into it, you could do a D6 die roll, AFTER picking which one they want, and the die roll would determine whether it went into effect the following turn, or not for 2 turns.
I don’t like the uncertainty, so just throwing that out there as a possible compromise, if you see the value of the D6 and uncertainty.
To expand on my last reply, here are the updated Russian NOs…
SOVIET UNION:
Military Advancement - 10 IPCs
The Soviet Union controls 3 of the following 4 territories: Finland, Poland, Slovakia Hungary, and/or RomaniaNational Prestige - 5 IPCs

The Allies control London, and Russia controls Archangel (Russia must be at war with European Axis powers, free artillery unit to be placed in Archangel)Lend Lease Caucasus - 1 Artillery

@newzealandnich no, but that’s a great point that will need clarification… so all pre-game pro-neutrals (or something like that).

RE: Grasshopper’s 3G40 Tournament Edition (Rule Set)posted in Young Grasshopper
OTHER NEW RULES AND MODIFICATIONS:

NEW DUTCH ISLAND RULE
All originally controlled Dutch territories on the board are now treated like territories of an allied power whose capital has been captured, and may not be taken control of by allied powers unless liberated from Axis control.
NEW DECLARATION OF WAR RULE
The United Kingdom Pacific may not declare war, or perform an act of war against Japan until the beginning of their 3rd turn. However, if Japan makes a declaration of war against the UK Pacific, America, and/or Dutch before UKP 3rd turn, then the UK Pacific and America may declare war against Japan (Rules involving American restrictions and French sovereignty remain unchanged.)
NEW MINOR IC IN SETUP
The United Kingdom Pacific begins the game with a minor IC in India instead of a major IC. This minor IC will be upgraded to a major IC at no cost immediately when the UK Pacific is at war with Japan.
NEW AMERICAN LEND LEASE RULE
During each of their place new units phases in which the United States are a neutral power, the United Kingdom Europe will place one free UKE fighter in Quebec, plus one free UKE destroyer in sea zone #118 (#106 oob).
NEW CAPITAL PURGE RULE
When a power captures an enemy’s capital city, and it’s the first time in which that capital city has been controlled by an enemy power; the occupying power will receive all cash currently in the possession of the defeated power. If the same capital is again captured by the same or different enemy power, all cash currently in the possession of the defeated power this time will be returned to the bank.

RE: Grasshopper’s 3G40 Player’s Handbookposted in Young Grasshopper
SUMMARY OF PLAY
Each turn you take for a power, you choose which units to build for that power. Then you move your attacking units into hostile spaces and resolve those attacks using dice rolls.
After combat, you can make noncombat moves with your units that didn’t take part in combat that turn. Finally, you place the units you purchased at the beginning of your turn and then collect your income for the turn, including income gained from any newly conquered territories.
