      I played that opening in my current game vs bmnielsen. However meanwhile I think the merits of having invincible subs are outperformend by the big ships the Allies remain. I even don’t think that despite the carrier buy UK is forced to buy units in UK only. Sea lion still too unattractive even against an invitation by UK.

      I think that opening should be combined with a Moscow rush. the advantage is that Axis has a little breath in the west due to the invincible subs and Germans usually don’t lose Air G1.
      If Germans decide to play a slow and long game I still think its better to remove the capital ships. Those ships certainly came back in round 4-6 and the Allies can invest more money in air/amphibious units and need to invest less in ships to protect TTs.

      Agree that Sea Lion is not suppose to be an option ; threatening it however is important to my mind, because it forces UK to defend, and not to invest massively in Africa from start.

      For sure, letting big ships alive should make it painful for Italy. But as I said, I think there are several possibilities as good G1 :)

      I understand, and indeed Egypt almost closed the game. Maybe with a 15 ipc bid that could work out ?

      But nevertheless, I’m not sure that it’s a good bid. To my mind, one infantry in Egypt is almost mandatory.

      This game almost cannot provide any hint abou your strat, due to the dice. But I think that something similar to my G1 should be kept in mind to know if this strat can be valid or not.

      I actually wanted an IC in India but it was also not strong enough. I needed more units in India from the bid. The plan is going much better in another game but I’m finding that I’m not closing in on Japan fast enough.

      i decided if the dice wouldn’t even out on R1 i was not going to continue.  the dice got worse on R1.  i’m not a good enough player to beat you with even dice, and i have no hope with bad dice.  sorry i couldn’t give you a run for it.

      The move towards the italian navy did not look bad to me. But I think since you knew you’d finish with no tp in Europa with UK, the US1 buy should have been partially in sz10, so that you could send some units in Algeria quickly.

      An interesting point of killing the italian navy early is to make Italy poor ; but this was not the case here.

      no not the main point.  i believe you played better better than me, that’s why i said i would need above average defensive dice to compete.  instead i got below average, which only hastened my demise.

      As you said, the battle of Ukraine of R2 was a very big problem, and I guess a good part of the game has been played there. I have no idea if making this attack was good or not, since after all you had the possibility to retreat which kind of make up the lower odds ; but I believe you made a big mistake by rolling a second turn there ; of course, you were not supposed to be diced like that, and that’s really unlucky ; but after the first turn you had no more odds of winning, and in average you had nothing really nice to win…

      It was a gamble.  Against the best player on the site I wanted to take a shot when I could.  If I get lucky it is a big advantage to me.  It backfired, and the only way I could get back into the game again is if you let me, and you didn’t.  Again, very well played

      Yes there was a turn where Russia got diced in Ukraine I believe, and then I did not look if you could have prevent an Epl stack or not from Germany, but this was the case (I think you protected Caucasus after that).

      For the uk bombers… they were a good buy I think, since they forced me to defend better both Italy and France. But maybe you could have used them better than a trade in France. I was wondering how to manage them if they had been traveling to Egypt with a big stack for instance.

      Anyway, good game I believe, of course one can see that some details lost you, because you did not anticipate enough your ideas, but overall there were several good ideas. Was a nice game :). Good luck in the league ;)

      no, jet ftrs can intercept Rockets AND bombers…. unless the bombers are shielded via more escorts than jet ftrs.

      Your example negated the bomber interception since you had escorts (LRA).
      By allowing the attacker to choose the casualties, the attacker is rewarded for having rockets AND LRA.

      Short Version:

      If all 4 units to be moved are still in EUS at the start of the US move, then the Algeria amphib can be done using only 1 TRN and the 2 units it can carry, the other INF and the AA would have to be moved in NCM (assuming the US won the amphib)
