    • Change in SBR Rules

I always thought the SBR rules were a bit week.  What if instead of doing the SBR during a normal players turn to knock off money it was conducted at the targeted country’s during its production phase.  The bomber(and fighters) must make it past AA and defending fighters.  Once through they choose a unit the targeted player is building.  They then get to roll a die to see if they knock that unit out before it even makes it on the board.

    • Investment in Territory.

Because factories can only build the ipc limit of the territory, i came up with the idea of investing in a territory.  Basically you purchase extra factories for that territory (I represent this with chips under the factory).  For every chip it doubles the amount of units you can produce from that factory.  These extra factories can be destroyed by a SBR if you aquire 10 hits.  You can also destroy the main factory by aquiring 20 hits to a factory.  So if you have two bombers and you roll two fives then an extra factory is destroyed.  You would need additional hits to destroy the original factory tho.

    • RE: Using D-Day blockhouses in Other Axis and Allies Games

I use em as costal defense guns.  For each block house they get to shoot at a vessel involved in an amphibious assault.  On a roll of 2 or less they hit a transport.  Roll of 1 they can choose to hit a combat vessel.  They can also limit movements through straights similarly.

I’d love it if you upload the files.  I’d like to create my own version (personal use only of course) thats a 1939 varient if your cool with that.  I have my own map but yours is just so much better.

Dude great job.  Really that is an awesome map and I plan on playing it as soon as possible.  The fact that your going to put it on the net for everyone to edit is sweet.  The only thing I would suggest is to change it so that France can be a player too.  A lot of people don’t like that idea, but I think it gives the germans more options.  If you need help with anything let me know.

    • RE: Alternative Rules for D-day

I would play ther german fighter after the allied fighter cards probably.  I dunno how you would resolve any fighter combat.  It would be unrealistic tho since the german player would simply avoid the allied fighters.  dunno how i would fix that.

    • RE: ME-109 piece

I recall those planes got chewed up due to their own flak as much as allied defense.  But statistically should germany have air units, when the allies could muster over 10,000 planes and that includes just the 8th and 9th air forces.  This does not account the 4th based in italy or the brits.  The germans had 3000 which were hampered by poor fuel supplies and untrained pilots.

    • Alternative Rules for D-day

Just to make playability more interesting anyone add any twists to it?  I came up with some ideas I might want to try

-Maybe give the germans a fighter unit and trying to add it somehow.
-Give the Allies the option of where to land airborne units wherever
-Give Allies the option of which beaches they want to hit so long as they are restricted to the same units landing in the first wave.
-Give the germans the option of placing their initial units wherever they want.

    • ME-109 piece

I suppose that this is simply going to replace the old stuka, or do you think that this will be an alternative air unit for the germans.  I find it ironic that germany will get airpower in this game when they didn’t have it in dday.  by the bulge their airpower was non-existant.

    • RE: New proof that Global Warming is a myth!

How is that utterly feasable?  I assume you don’t want to increase funding to NASA so the extremely limited space on the shuttle will be taken up with canisters.  How effective do  you think a single shuttle will be when it comes to cooling A PLANET anyway???  Sorry to poke holes in your logic but perhaps a plan without GAPING holes will have more support.

      HAHA OLver, good point.

I think scientists are split over how much effect humans are having on global warming.  i think most agree to the warming trend.

Based on the fact that my weather man can’t get the forecast right 2 days in a row makes me think that meterology is slightly more complicated than that.

    • RE: Smart people voted for Bush

3rd parties are weak in local elections which makes them strangers to everyone in national elections.  I think the best way is to grow a third party out of a local district instead of trying to make people vote for 3rd parties at national elections.  Whether its possible I dunno, but I think its more likely to work taht way.
