      You may be a WW2 Junkie if when playing other war games like Battlefront Heroes on facebook you notice the level 1 tanks look like Panzer IIs, the level 2 tanks look like Panzer IIIs, looking at tanks other people have you see Tiger Is

      I would want KV-1, PE-8, SU-100, SU-152, another art. piece, some kind of Jet Fighter,

      There is going to be a KV-1 in the Kursk Game HBG is working on.
      In the Allied Super Weapons expansion for Global they are going to have a Russian heavy artillery piece and I think a MiG 9 jet fighter.
      I don’t know about the other three.

      Yeah I know but until I have the pieces in my hands, I’m going to keep asking for them

      I just checked out there site and the battle of britian set and industrial and rails, South America, partisans, seaplanes and seaplane tenders are all gone and Superweapons UK and Italy were put in there place. A couple of those I would have liked to have seen the light of day some of the ones (read zombies) I don’t care if it comes out

      You’ve been absent, quite a bit. Have you been busy, lately? :-)

      Judging by the fact it took me 3 weeks to answer the question. Yes very busy, working 10+ hour days 6 days a week and taking care of the mother-in-law.

      Well, I hope your doing well. :-)

      yeah I am. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even had a chance to put my Japanese set away. I went through it and checked it out but they are still in the box they came in

      @WARRIOR888:

      Gents.

      I agree all the sets that are being produced will be excellent additions to AA.  That said Zombies?  I live in state where there a nuts jobs who really believe in them and drive around with the words Zombie Emergency Response Team on their vehicles in case we have a real zombie invasion. They even give a valid local number and cell phone to call if you have a zombie problem to deal with.
      As for a game, my jury is still out on this one.  I would prefer another Super Weapons set with UK, France and Italy instead.

      WARRIOR888

      That falls under the “If you don’t have anything nice to say…” so yeah

      @John:

      I agree whole heartedly, it is the best set to date. I think this British set is going to be an awesome set and could surpass it. I can’t wait for all these new sets, the American, French, German and Facilities set, as well as the Global Sets.

      It is good time to be a fan of axis and allies! :-)

    • RE: Nation- (and City-) Specific Victory City Markers

      @CWO:

      I’ve been doing some more research on Shanghai, for which the building suggestions so far still don’t seem to be optimal, and I think I’ve found two stronger candidates for the marker sculpt.  I found them both in a 2004 book called Touring Shanghai. The first option is the Longhua Pagoda.  It was built in the 5th century.  It’s 40 meters tall, and its 7 stories have an octogonal shape.  It’s one of the largest of the 16 pagodas in Shanghai. The second option is the Square Pagoda of Songjiang, built in 1068.  It has 9 stories and, at 48.5 meters in height, it was once the tallest building in Shanghai.  It’s considered to be the most beautiful pagoda in the lower region of the Yangtse River.

      Both of these tall, slender buildings would contrast nicely with the contender for the Hong Kong marker, the Main Altar of the Wong Tai Sin Temple, which is low and broad.  Both would work fine in my opinion, but I have a slight preference for the Longhua Pagoda because it’s a little less tall and because its octogonal shape gives it a rounder appearance than the Square Pagoda of Songjiang, which would further distinguish it from the rectangular Wong Tai Sin Temple.

      Pagoda of Songjiang is my vote

      @CWO:

      Ah, I see – I misunderstood.  I thought you meant the surrounding small buildings which, I agree, do add a certain urban charm to the markers.Â

      keep the smaller buildings

      @Nobel:

      I was considering doing something very similar with my anniversary edition. I decided on the landmarks I wanted (very similar to both your lists) but never had the time to actually CAD the models and get them cast. Depending on the level of detail, some of the buildings could take a while to model out.

      Ossel, if you’re willing to put the time in I would love to get some nice city markers. Even if you can’t get someplace like HBG to make them for you, you could always get them printed from Shapeways. shapeways.com Put them up for sale and maybe even make a small profit. I know i’d buy a set.

      Anyway, here’s my list:

      USA - Washington - White House
      USA - Honolulu - Aloha Tower (alt-Iolani Palace)
      USA - Manila - Dr. Jose Rizal Monument
      USA - San Francisco - Golden Gate Bridge

      Germany - Berlin - Brandenburg Gate
      Germany - Paris - Eiffel Tower
      Germany - Warsaw - Wilanw Palace

      UK - London - Big Ben
      UK - Ottawa - Parliament Hill
      UK - Calcutta - Victoria Memorial Hall
      UK - Hong Kong - Wong Tai Sin Temple
      UK - Sydney - Sydney Harbour Bridge

      Japan - Tokyo - Sensō-ji (AKA-Asakusa Kannon)
      Japan - Shanghai - Yu Garden

      Russia - Moscow - St. Basil’s Cathedral
      Russia - Leningrad (St Petersburg) Winter Palace
      Russia - Stalingrad Old Steam Mill

      Italy - Rome - Colosseum

      Your list is great and I would buy a set.
