I for one would like to see French set next, to me it’s an aspa. Then Russian there’s tons of good options there. not really sure of a 3rd set after that. I can list enough Russian pieces that it would take 2 sets to do them all. Facilities i can’t wait for too.

Coach,
I was looking at the newest US set to pre-order and I was wondering. There’s 4 aircraft listed in the set but when you look at the pic of the units there’s 5 aircraft. So the question is what’s the 5th aircraft?Yavid, I can answer this. The 5th plane is the F6F Hellcat. Those were a very limited extra unit only available for pre-orders up to October 31st. Pre-orders after Oct 31 do not get the Hellcats, but they still get an extra 2 Sherman tanks.
Remember with the UK sets, Pre-Orders could get the 2 Sexton self-propelled artillery pieces but they would not be available after the pre-orders?
Well, this is not official but rather my own supposition, but I think the F6F fighters are in the same category as the Sextons. They were limited available for the pre-orders up to 10/31 and after that they would not be available again.
Just another reason I try to jump on the pre-orders as soon as they come up. I like getting those extra special limited units. The only problem is then it seems like such a loooong wait.Ok I got 2 Japanese Jet Fighters because I pre-ordered it

not revisiting the list nearly as much as I haven’t added in HBG’s UK set and will have to double check because I believe the French got some units since my last update. But yes I find it useful.
I had not entered the 2nd Japan set or the UK set HBG released, those have been added. and the going nuclear set HBG just released.

RE: Reality wrecking destroyer rules need a revamp…posted in House Rules
@Der:
To date I’ve never been truly satisfied with implementation of subs absent some HR to correct them. Going back to Classic they are always problematic. But also iconic, and thus necessary :)
It would be nice to get something functional and handle their interaction with destroyers, air, and production once and for all. I would definitely prefer a scheme that could work across multiple boards.Exactly. I would say the submarine is the biggest headache in the whole game. Probably because it can’t actually disappear under the water as it does in reality, abstract rules need to be made up for it, which often contradict all the other naval rules.
Probably the biggest reality that the current rules don’t take into account is that in WWII much of the time you couldn’t find the things. Then, if you did find one, it might get away. Heck, once a U-boat went right into Scapa Flow, one of the busiest ports in the world, sunk the Royal Oak, and got away. In the current rules, you always find the sub - just look at the map. Then you send a DD over there and kill it - and if you bring enough support it never gets away.
speaking of subs staying on the game board… There was an old expansion that had you hold the sub off board for 2 turns then put them on the board for one turn. If it was off board it couldn’t be attacked and you had to keep track of it’s movements on a piece of paper. We always played it when the sub returned to the board you had to show everyone it’s movements to prove how it got there. (no cheating).

I bought 11 UK sets in three colors after the pre order. I usually by 5-10 in each color each time a set comes out. The main reason I’ve held back a bit on this UK set is because I bought tons of the US supplemental sets in celery, tan and Aussie gray to beef up thier units.
It’s going to cost me about $210 to get my new UK/Commonwealth forces to where I want them to be.
As for your idea knp that is a good one. However I like my OOB pieces and they will also work for other WWII games I have.
Lastly I just bought a ton of acrylic markers for my custom rules and variants.
@Yavid. Yes I know what you mean about the finances. Mine are way better now but during the Amerika and new UK preorders it was during a time when I really needed to “tighten my belt” so to speak and didn’t have a lot of disposable income. Hope things get better for you soon.
TY very much, I normally order once a year and only ever order 2 sets of the color I need, and pick up separate pieces as they are needed. So I’m going to be ordering 2 UK sets in UK tan and 2 UK sets in ANZAC grey. I would like to get a set to be Communist China but can’t seem to pick a color.

We live pay check to pay check and the only time we have money to spend is at tax time. Without going into to much more details that’s the story.

RE: Nation- (and City-) Specific Victory City Markersposted in Customizations
@CWO:
So…A question for you all. Should I make the cities I’ve already uploaded available for sale now? Or should I wait until all of the minor cities are completed?
Personally I’m planning to wait until the whole set is ready before ordering them, but that doesn’t have to be the only option available. Having the completed pieces available right away won’t prevent the people who want to order a whole set from waiting to order a whole set – but not having them available will prevent the people who want to order a partial set right away from ordering a partial set right away. So the option which would satisfy everyone would be to make the completed pieces available now, in my opinion.
I have to agree with CWO Marc. You always want to have options in sales. I plan on getting a whole set, but the next person, may not want the whole set, so I would make them available now. I hope that helps. :-)

yeah i missed out on pre-ordering UK pieces so I’m also going to have to get them soon. With everything seeming to get pushed back, I’m thinking about getting a neutral set in like a yellow or something to be Vichy French stand ins also. I’ve been trying to wait till the French set is released.
