      Ptui! Ptui!
I don’t like it, but they make great examples of
‘what not to be when you grow up.’

It does the world good to keep a few examples of dinosaurs like
David Duke, Jacque “Iraq” Chirac and Ted Kennedy around.

Remember, if you allow groups like that to exist it’s easier to keeep tabs on the wankers!

    • RE: Get rid of Columbus day!

      Columbus Day?
NO! It’s just another wasted holiday.

      Labor Day?
NO! Why celebrate labor by taking the day off?
Wasn’t it originally, partly in honor of(read pay off to)labor unions
back when they were about twice as big (and a big part of American labor?) Now they are a minority that has to much control over the price of
labor and products reducing American’s purchasing power.

      MLKjr Day?
NO! Correta Scott King(his widow)said DrMLKjr
recognized the value of work and
that it took work to make progress.
      NOT another holiday!

      Valentines’ Day?
NO! It was invented by the flower, candy
and gretting card industries to boost sales
      during a down time (February.)
Besides, shouldn’t lovers celebrate year round?

Take Your Daughter to Work Day?
NO! Why discriminate against the boys?
Why give the children another day off school
depriving them of an education? Rename it …
      Inefficient and Dangerous Day!

      I agree with BB.
That 1 VP is helpful and you must work on China to get it.
You must hit China(1-2 teritories each turn)with
enough to take it and hold it. This stops the build-up
which leads to the dreaded Chinese offensive.

      WOW! I feel great.

You might consider those situations you mentioned
      examples of inspirational leadership,
excellent use of defensive position and entrenchment,
an act of G_d or dumb luck(dice do that, occassionally.)

      Eureka!
If you have the A&A game play manual (Second Ed.) look on
      p.24, col. 1, para. 3(AREA 2 COMBAT SPHERE) and
p.25, col. 1, para. 6 (AREA 2 COMBAT SPHERE ACTION) to
p.25, col. 2, para. 8 (AREA 2 COMBAT SPHERE ACTION.)

That settles the LOAD-MOVE-MOVE-UNLOAD argument (at least.)

Dagnabbit! I was so lookin’ forward to trying A&A with the
NO LOAD-UNLOAD('cept for bridging) on the same turn rule.

As I’ve said before … “read the rules” … it helps.

      @lnxduk:

who here playes by that last rule about only having bombers in 3 places?

Purty much everybody I’ve ever played (on the board game.)

You are limited by the # of pieces (not fair to deprive others of their bmrs) unless you purchase extra pieces. Players should be able to use logistics(right, BB?) and a strategy (a plan for those of you in Rio Linda) to make a game of it. Of course, mistakes by your opponent and average/good dice rolls by you and/or average/bad dice rolls by your opponents helps.

      Sorry, guys!
      My goof.
      see

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=29344#29344

and see Axis & Allies Game Play Manual(Second Edition Rules, p. 21, col. 1, para. 1). Please, note that I checked the Rules Clarification pamphlet (equivalent to Third Edition Rules) and found no relavent ponts.
I read this as meaning only units that did not move during Combat Movement may move in Noncombat Movement.

Jeez! If this is the case, I’m starting over as a rookie and Germany will have breating room. I like it!

      WDF?

Second Edition Rules A&A Game Play Manual (with no applicable changes in the Rules Clarification[Third Ed.] pages, p.21, Column 1, Para. 1, it states “… you can move … units that you DID NOT MOVE (M. Bradley’s emphasis) during Action 2-Combat Movement.”

      F_k,
My understanding of this rule is that …
If you moved it during Combat Movement,
then you CANNOT move it during
      Noncombat Movement.

If you picked up a unit for transport and
moved said unit during Combat Movement,
      then, according to the rules,
you CANNOT move or offload said unit
      during Noncombat Movement.

    • Hispanic History Month(The #2 Minority)

Should we encourage our local and national education associations
to have a Hispanic History Month?

Why not? They are an increasing part of the population.
Besides, they’ll be a much bigger part of the American
      business and political world soon.

From some of the articles I’ve read in my local paper
regarding Hispanics IN, OH and KY they are stepping
forward in larger #s. I know they are also becoming
more involved in FL (the Elian Gonzales/Clinton fiasco
was one event which stirred them up.) I’ll bet the same
is happening in CA, AZ, NM, TX(Tony Sanchez ran for Gov. as
a Democrat, but lost in 2002) and many cities across the USA.

      @F_alk:

… This means, you can pick up, move, pick up, move again as a Combat Move, and unload during Noncombat Move.

      I must disagree.
