      As far as I have understood the problems occur when not all players are on the most current stable version. Once a game is either started with an older release or a savegame started with the current version is opened with an older version the games are somehow corrupted.

      This is why I have added the following note to some of the stickies here:

      Note:
      Problems in games started in the past cannot be resolved by updating the TripleA client, as updating the client does not change the game information stored in savegame files. In other words: As long as nobody starts new games with up-to-date clients and maps, the problems, saved in savegame-files, will be carried over and continue.

      Also: To avoid issues it is always recommended that all players use the latest stable version to beginn new games. So when playing together, reassure yourself that everyone is up-to date.

      @majikforce thanks! That was a tough one to get the win for…all those US fighters were a pain! I think I might still have got it as I would have taken the Solomon’s which with a NB would have forced you to defend Hawaii and NSW both instead of doing the fighter shuttle…but would have been a lot more chancy!

      I think I ignored Russia too much to get to the ME which hurt the German side…have to tweak that strategy!

      @mainah Good game! You’ve certainly got the basic ideas sorted, and without practice against a live opponent there is no way of knowing before hand quite how important some moves and plays are.

      No rush on the next game, quite happy to wait until you are ready. I would suggest that I take allies at 17 as well, just because you wont be able to get a competitive game without that level of bid and it will give you an idea of how it might be spent. My bid will be a sub in sz98, marine in india, inf in alex and and inf in egypt.

      As the axis you will normally be asked to set the game up so if you need a hand with that just ask!

      @wizmark Good game! You had me worried! For a decent amount of rounds you had the income advantage, if you had invested into keeping Egypt and holding with Japan, Allies would have struggled to get the income superiority back. Keeping Egypt especially even if it means putting Moscow on hold would have made it tough for UK to get anything done with its meager income. You didn’t need to rush Moscow, I would have sent enough fast Germans back down to Egypt if I saw the Allies preparing an attack there.

      @DizzKneeLand33 GG…the only things I would say is that without a US presence in the atlantic Germany/Italy has it too easy…plus I knew what was coming with the bomber spam so could make sure my forces were out of range or take away landing spots from you. Taking the Russian far East provinces meant you couldnt bomb SZ6, having New Guinea for a large part of the game meant the bombers in india couldnt hit the FIC SZ.

      You had the main VC’s blocked off mainly but without the US actually taking areas and building income you were on a stalemate only going one way. But always a pleasure!

      @Sovietishcat Thanks for the game…it was a good one! Yeah the pacific situation felt it was one mistake away from a disaster but managed to keep the allied fleet at bay long enough to allow the germans to do their thing. You had me v worried at certain points although I felt the european victory would come eventually!

      @TheShrike For sure…I lost quite a few games last year due to distractions and silly moves so thats fine.

      As far as allied play goes it is a mainly reaction game I feel…try to keep the italians contained and push for the N.O.s to keep income high for the western allies and try to keep the japanese focussed on retaining the DEI rather than giving them free rein in the South Pac…but the axis do have the edge

      @wizmark yes I tend to agree. I would have given my self a decent chance had this round it been so disastrous. But both of those really killed me. I was going to take Italy and leave you with next to no pieces left for Italy to take it back. Then hopefully with the Russian pressure up north and the Allied pressure from ME and Spain Germany would have had to make some very tough choices.

      This would have let US focus more on pacific. But with how this played out Japan has to much momentum and will cost to much for the allies. I hate to end the game with so many pieces on the board but with me having to take a week or so off I would prefer starting a new one instead of playing out a most likely losing war.

      I really enjoyed the game. Hopefully we can play again soon.
