RE: Autumn 2022 Battle of Britain - 9th October - See Battle Report
@private-panic Thanks . Great day. Had been 3 years for me. Far too long, but with reasons.
I saw the Japanese potential hit on the US fleet and never considered Dave would shirk from the overwhelming victory it portended.
Dave: you should have taken out the US fleet . Just to see Adam’s face! -
RE: Multiple rule questions
@Driel310 have you worked out the answers , now you have seen the rules ?
Can buy as many Sea Mines as you like , but only one can be placed per nation in each SZ . (Unlike Land Mines , they don’t have a facing , but protect the whole SZ.)
America pays for the two (maximum) FF units from its own “income”.
The advantage being that they can move and attack the same turn, as they are placed in Phase 2 of America’s go, before : Combat Movement.Britain’s player can, indeed, buy Sea units for its 3 x 12 IPC spends.
With regards to Germany’s choice of targets , It looks like you choose your target after you hit . (Found at the end of the rules , with the unit descriptions). You must remember, however, to roll the AT and Stukas separately.
As different units roll with different numbers , you would not lose out .I suspect it makes most sense to use AT guns first , as they can only target Tanks .
A Stuka could target Art (if Tanks had been killed ). -
RE: Axis and Allies North Africa announced!
@reloader-1 not Stalingrad, as I like Tanks; not a static defence battle. Although, the nasty Russians did smash the Italian 8th and Hungarian 2nd Armies, so if that were to be represented, that would have swayed me somewhat. And who wouldn’t want to try (as Manstein) and save Paulus?
Would have to say : Eastern Front .
I love the whole Market Garden op too.
Good and hard choices. -
RE: How many players from the 80s and 90s have we here?
@nolimit I was one of those idiots that binned my first A&A game too. Didn’t want to piss off my wife with all the new games I had bought ij the 90s.
Hate myself!
I had so many fun evenings in our shared student kitchen playing with it my last year at university. -
RE: World at War game 16
Hi all. No promises that I can get this done before Monday. We are out all day with the children and friends and tomorrow I am going to Derbyshire to spank Adam and his slow village neighbours in a real A&A game.
I would say that I would let an ally play Britain’s last go, but that wouldn’t be fair to Colt , who has played a great German. He deserves to take London from me. -
RE: On this day during W.W. 2
@kaleu thanks . Is One of those stories many of us learned as a child.

RE: Autumn 2022 Battle of Britain - 9th October - See Battle Report
@barnee thank you.
I had to go (amd my wife insisted I did too). There have been many reasons , but my eye sight is the main one.
Was great to see the guys and to play fave ti fave . Although, I would have liked to have okayed against Adam and smashed up his fleet .
We are the best of friends! -
RE: Axis & Allies North Africa Question
@FranceNeedsMorePower good day.
Only 3 German units can move into Mersa and attack Cairo, as there are 5 (am I right ?) Italian units there . Attacks are made from adjacent territories and stacking limits must be checked at the end of every phase of a Power’s turn. Those 5 Italian units are preventing more than 3 German units moving there and attacking Cairo.
Can you see that ?
Air units could attack Cairo, as they would be in the Cairo territory and don’t count against stacking , when attacking .
Remember that Ground units always attack from an adjacent territory. -
RE: Meet your new Axis & Allies Game, now with ... fantastic factions of finned fighters?
@Midnight_Reaper thanks for finding and posting that.
I won’t be buying it though. -
RE: Favorite Christmas Gift
@ABWorsham4 I saw this had a new post , so read it , meaning to post . Then read one that sounded like my best ever gift, only to realise it was me; that I was reading from 5 years ago!
Thanks for the reminder guys.
My 7 year old has been playing with my soldiers from the 70’s (the 1-29 scale ones ) for 2 years now. Makes me So happy to see .
My best friend , with whom I played those soldiers every week, died of a brain tumour when he was 14.
I thought of him yesterday. Funny how things come full circle. -
RE: NML 1914 Team Game 11
@Private-Panic will do . Or if I am feeling gracious, might add 2 more .
-
RE: Anzio and the K5E guns
@abworsham4 hello my friend.
I doubt it. The Allies didn’t know when to admit failure and would have found a way around jt , I suspect. The resources were there: naval and Air, especially. -
RE: World Championship 2026 A&A G40 Expansion
@The-Captain thank you for your answer. That’s a great achievement. Well done guys.
Hope your competition goes well
I would love to attend (and visit Denmark ) for the first time , but my wife and I work very hard in our small restaurant. It wouldn’t be fair to her .
Perhaps , I can make your 4th or 5th convention (as a 65 year old !). -
RE: Favorite Christmas Gift
Morning Worsham.
I think I was 8, or something like that.
I woke up to find Father Christmas (my grandad)had left me a castle at the foot of my bed. It was unpacked (and constructed) and there were hundreds of Airfix 1-72 scale soldiers in and out of it. Not sure how long I played in my room. -
RE: NML 1914 team game 14
