    • RE: On this day during W.W. 2

@barnee thanks . It is a day I never forget.
I reminded my 12 year old cousin’s son and he was flabbergasted to have forgotten. He is obsessed with WW2 and his dad (my younger cousin) has let him watch: Circle of Evil, which he loved. He did a project on WW2 and it was very good. We spoke at my parents’ 50th Anniversary and he was very knowledgeable.
It was a delight to see such passion in a school child.
I will tell my cousin to buy him 1942 fir Christmas. I am sure he will love it.

    • RE: Multiple rule questions

@Driel310 have you worked out the answers , now you have seen the rules ?

Can buy as many Sea Mines as you like , but only one can be placed per nation in each SZ . (Unlike Land Mines , they don’t have a facing , but protect the whole SZ.)

America pays for the two (maximum) FF units from its own “income”.
The advantage being that they can move and attack the same turn, as they are placed in Phase 2 of America’s go, before : Combat Movement.

Britain’s player can, indeed, buy Sea units for its 3 x 12 IPC spends.

With regards to Germany’s choice of targets , It looks like you choose your target after you hit . (Found at the end of the rules , with the unit descriptions). You must remember, however, to roll the AT and Stukas separately.
As different units roll with different numbers , you would not lose out .

I suspect it makes most sense to use AT guns first , as they can only target Tanks .
A Stuka could target Art (if Tanks had been killed ).

    • RE: Axis & Allies North Africa Question

      @FranceNeedsMorePower good day.
Only 3 German units can move into Mersa and attack Cairo, as there are 5 (am I right ?) Italian units there . Attacks are made from adjacent territories and stacking limits must be checked at the end of every phase of a Power’s turn.

Those 5 Italian units are preventing more than 3 German units moving there and attacking Cairo.
      Can you see that ?
Air units could attack Cairo, as they would be in the Cairo territory and don’t count against stacking , when attacking .
Remember that Ground units always attack from an adjacent territory.

@djensen Private Panic, Credulous and I are within 2-3 hours of each other. I am in the Midlands and they are North of me. I am sure we would all do our best to congregate closer to London, if that were easier for you. There are a few members on the South coast too. (Lozmoid and Corporal Clegg are two .)
Lovely idea you have. Hope it come to fruition.

    • RE: On this day during W.W. 2

@captainwalker I knew about the Romanian/Hungarian animosity from playing an 80s Hex led counter game: Barbarossa. You could never stack those two German allies, because of it. I have a few Osprey books on those two nations, as I always found interesting the units that served alongside the Wehrmacht.
They really were fighting with outdated equipment, so were always an easier target for the Russians.

@barnee it is. I checked its operational history though and thought it was first used in late 42 at Leningrad. I don’t think the photo can be from the Demyansk encirclement.

    • RE: Italy Starts and Strats Help

It is best to buy Mechs and can open and support Germany on the East Front. If the opportunity arises, and the U.K. and US player allow it, buy a DD to keep your convoying down. Don’t make it easy for the Allies to deny you income. German Fts often have to park in Rome to scramble to sink Subs.
Playing Italy is about bothering the Allies, forcing them to spend in the Med, when they want to go East, towards the ME.
