@Axisarmpit You wouldnt let Japan take Shan State or Yunnan using china, also, if you buy just infantry, and keep your planes in india, Japan will have to bring more than their starting ships.

I assumed you’d take max D for your OOL in Morocco due to it being such a close battle 45-45 i think?

Say Japan has their ships in 36, the UK just puts a destroyer in 37. If Japan wants to declare war and take India on J2, it would have to go through the destroyer which would block it. If you block correctly… You can even delay the most ambitious of Japanese players to turn 4

    • RE: What is the most unusual/annoying/strange allied bid

@Flying-Tigerz I agree with your points, but in the balanced mod… Japan has to garison every Chinese territory. Those 5 artillery could really be a pain in the ass to Japan.

I might go with option 4 due to it being such a flexible move, allows anzac to go for brazil, threaten DEI, take the carolines, and be pesky without having to pay for it.

Seperately, we are playing 2 games, where we each play the axis and allies, his bid is 1 artillery in sudan, 1 fighter in malta and 1 sub in sz98. This allows him to lock Africa down fast, really screwing Italy over. Depending on how i decide to play the allies, i might go with some variation of that

im so excited for round 4, big carriers incoming… and heavy tanks. and chinese light fighters are quite annoying to deal with, and sneaky submarines or whatever they are called, they can transport stuff btw its great

Good game man! A couple of suggestions…

      1. Make sure you have transports in the pacific to trade the DEI with Japan, it’s really costly and annoying for Japan.
      2. I wouldn’t violate neutrality if Germany has built up a solid defense unless you have an overwhelming force ready to go.
      3. sortof going of No. 1, dont bother building too many ships with anzac, build planes and tranports.
      4. watch out for italian can openers

Couple of changes and your allies are solid.

That’s about as wacky as I can think of. If the whole bid doesn’t have to be spent up-front, then giving ANZAC enough to buy an IC in round 1 should be pretty advantageous too.

thats a good idea, maybe give the money to the UK to put an IC in egypt UK 1 and spend the remaining 8 on a sub/destroyer in the med to help deal with the italian navy?

    • Sealion + J1 DOW + J4 India

How do the allies defend a J1 DOW, Sea lion and J4 India Crush…

      Round 1

      • Germany Carrier and 2 Transports Buy, kill 110 and strafe 111
      • Japan Dow, clear Yunnan get ready to try and keep it, go for DEI and Philippines
      • Italy does Italian stuff, maybe buys land units or fighter.

      Round 2

      • Germany buys 10 Tranports or whatever sea lion stuff, bombs London, and moves stuff to defend from Russians
      • Japan throws everything into holding either yunnan or shan state, does more India crush stuff, bombs India
      • Italy again does Italian things

      Round 3

      • Germany goes for sealion, odds are good since you’ve got 12 transports and london was bombed. Buys Inf
      • Japan sets up for India crush, has Yunnan and DEI and Philippines by now.
      • Italy makes pizza

      Round 4

      • Germany buys infantry on London and Germany and France, land planes in London
      • Japan Takes India, buys navy things to defend from US
      • Italy helps defends Europe while Germany gets itself together

I dont think that Russia can put enough pressure to make the Germans go defensive without massive US interference (they take and complex norway, normandy, spain, or greece). Then again the Germans have a navy, and a large air force, It would take many turns for the US to build a fleet that can frolic around and take stuff. If the Americans really do focus 100% on Germany, then Japan has itself a field day especially with a J1 and then goes all in on Sydney and Hawaii for the win.

I could see this being made more difficult with a US1 bomber buy, but even then it wouldn’t be that significant. Another counter I could see is a Yunnan stack, but that requires an investment by Russia, India, an all in with china, and a sizable bid (i think you need a bid?), that could be easily circumvented by using only transports, carrier planes and bombers on India given they don’t have as much stuff as they’d normally have because of the Yunnan stack. I might be stupid and just be completely missing something that would completely shut this down, please let me know.

With India and London out of the game so early, It leaves the axis with peace of mind from the middle east given that it cant really be reinforced very well very quickly, hopefully allowing Italy to make more pizzas. Also, in BM3 the British isles are worth 13 IPCs to Germany, so it pretty much pays for its own defense in the long run as well as 20 IPCs of British territory not being taken advantage of by the allies.

Alternatively Japan could J3-4 DOW (more effort into taking Yunnan and buys more transports to take DEI as well as India at the same time on the turn they declare) and keep the US parked at home with 52 IPCs for as long as possible, making them get to London at earliest US4-US5.

@trulpen sure, defend the same too, come to think of it they should probably cost 5 and even then I don’t think they’re to worth it, that 1 move makes it useful in only a handful of situations

    • Taking Moscow Efficiently

What is the most efficient and reliable way to take Moscow?

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to take Moscow consistently but but cheaply (doesn’t matter when). I want to be able to contain Russia FAST so I can effectively spend IPCs on fending off American landings and go for Egypt before there is a large enough allies presence in the middle east.

      Ideas I’ve come up with…

1 - Rush for Ukraine, Rostov, Western Ukraine and the Caucasus. Plop down 2 minor factories in Rostov and Western Ukraine and in combination with the two there, you can pump you 6 infantry and 6 artillery a round right next to Moscow. These can later be repurposed to taking out the middle east.

2 - Just rush straight for Moscow as fast as possible ignoring all else, although not sure is possible if the Russians decide to turtle.

3 - Don’t spend too much on Moscow with Germany, just enough to match the Russian money’s effectiveness, and spend everything else accomplishing your other goals while Japan spends some extra effort clearing Siberia and eastern Russia to minimize their income

4 - Germany just buys 10 Artillery Per round in Germany for a few rounds then switches over to mechanized to catch up later at Moscow, Germans spend other money on planes in order to hold together other fronts.
