      I say AA50 will not be played much because if you listen to people that say they have AA50 and Revised, they no longer play Revised and only play AA50. Why? Maybe it is because of the addition of a playable China and Italy and a bigger map?

      I have AA50 and still play revised. Why? Because revised has AARe, and as of yet, there is nothing comparable in AA50 (we are working on it though - see AA50: Strategic). I still like AA50 as a lighter game, but for real strategy and matches of skill I play AARe. Additionally, revised takes less time than AA50 and AA50 will likely take less time than the global game. This is needed if you are playing with friend and they aren’t staying more than 5-6 hours.

      China markers might be nice, but considering they could only be used on a few territories in the extremely rare situation that China is doing well against Japan, they aren’t necessary really so complaining about it like this is a little silly.

      It was a joke. (hence the use of the word “haxors”) What I did was open up my AAP game and take one. However, that one I now use as the chinese production marker, because of a house rule I play with so I might need another one. For OOB rules I really don’t thinks one is needed. The odds of UK being killed and China being strong enough to take Kwangtung (especially with OOB china rules) is slim enough to not warrant a piece for this scenario.

      I think that radar is a little weak. Perhaps make it a minor tech? Or make radar activate always active AA guns. That would be scary.

      so advanced artillery in moderate size battles can increase the odds of winning by as much as 15% over just infantry.  And getting 3 extra punch for every 1 extra IPC you spend is pretty sweet.

      The problem with your calculations is that you are assuming that the person will buy the same amount of artillery if they have advanced artillery and if they don’t
      In big battles especially is where you can see the problem with advanced artillery. For 20 IPCs and advanced artillery, you could buy 4 inf and 2 art all attacking @2. For 21 IPCs without advanced artillery, you could buy 3 inf, 3 art all attacking @2. As you can see, as the numbers get larger, advanced artillery only saves you 1 IPC for every 21 you spend. Even for a monster Japan at 60 IPCs war bonds would be better (3 1/2 IPCs vs 3 IPCs) And war bonds is probably the worst tech out there besides advanced artillery.

      Yea the green ones might work well for Chinese cruisers. (Since they are green and Japanese I figure the Chinese ones can’t be too different.)
      The Orange ones might work well for ordinary Japaneese battleships, if you are playing by that house rule that makes the yamato battleships limited in number and more powerful.

      In AA50 China is allowed to control Kwangtung if UK gets conquered by Germany (or Italy). However the game does not come with any Chinese control markers. THOSE CHIMPS AT WOTC GAVE ME A BROKEN GAME!!! DOOM, DESPAIR, AGONY, HAXORS!!!

      As they stand, escorts are totally pointless, since they get hit by AA. For every die point you add on offense they get one on defense.

      Yes go ahead and buy art, but still don’t hope for advanced artillery. Even if you had a ton of artillery, statistically the tech does next to nothing.

      Also if you are doing PBEM use mapview not Abattlemap. Abattlemap is horrible. Its a bummer though that there is no mapview AA50 module

      I was thinking about making a rule that makes panama not touch EUS. This would make the panama canal more accessible to any axis player who puts the effort into it. The problem, however, is that doing this would naturally make either Mexico or CUS accessible to the east coast. This would undo much of the importance of CUS since WUS would be only 1 space away from east coast transports.

      BB is already a better buy than a cruiser. To demonstrate, simply run a battle low luck 3 BBs vs 5 cruisers (same price). Even with the cruisers wining 2/3 of their rolls @3 1 battleship remains.

      I don’t really like the jet fighters attack @4. It seems that the tech system wants to make all the techs offensive techs. I actually liked 5 defense jets. anyone else think so?
      Perhaps this: Jet fighters defend @5 and are immune to AA. At the start of any battle each of your jet fighters get a surprise strike @1 vs any attacking planes. This includes SBR.

      I think that is what he is saying: that to fix Heavy bombers change it back from the lame fix.

      The reason I like Epl in Europe is b/c I think if I can get it then the threat to Moscow from both Ger and Ita is gone.  I don’t have to worry about defending north or south, I can simply pump units into one spot Epl until I have enough for a 1-2-3 attack on Pol or force Germany to deadzone Pol.  Either way good for the Allies.  Once Pol is deadzoned you can go 3 on 1 vs. Japan if Berlin is too well defended to take b/c you now have the economic adv and time is now on your side.

      What are you assuming the Allies control at this point?  Economic advantage depends on the situation in Africa and in the Pacific.  Once Japan has Siberia and China, Allies are hard pressed to hold the economic advantage even if they control Africa.

      Time is not necessarily on the Allies’ side…actually I think the opposite is the case, and Allies need to be aggressive.

      An interesting concept, since in all the other versions of Axis and Allies, unless the game was over or practically over, the allies had a economic advantage.
