      Unescorted transports can ignore subs as long as they are not in the sea zone that you are conducting an amphibious assault from. That’s when you need a warship to ignore the sub(s).

      Dido what everyone else said.

      You should have the Russian minor in Leningrad and prob Ukraine as well a couple turns after you invade Russia, so there really is no need to spend the IPCs up there for redundancy.

      You can buy a second German transport for 7 IPCs (cheaper) and move 2 more units (4 tot) through the Baltic and threaten all Russian territories that boarders the Baltic Sea (or even the White Sea sz 127 if you venture out). Besides threatening multiple territories, transports can be used to reinforce or counter attack as well. A 3rd German transport in the water (with some added fleet) will keep the London in a defensive position in the early/mid game too.

      Finally as others pointed out a German IC in Scandinavia will quickly draw the attention of the USA. Norway/Finland is already a target, you really don’t want to magnify it IMO.

      I got about 3 of those. I really prefer dice tray. Towers suck because you got a small space to see the dice and if you roll alot of dice, it takes more time to count hits.

      The tray is much better because everyone can see the results from the table and usually people like to count hits by sweeping those dice to the side of the tray. The tower really has no such space.

      I agree 100% I got a beautiful wooden dice tower from FMG (yes they have them), however, when the dice roll out some dice kick back under the drop shoot making them difficult to read. I brought this up to them last year and I believe someone at IWNGU (I will never grow up) was working on a design that releases the dice higher so when the dice kick back, there is a bank that the dice will bounce off of.

      Wilk,

      I read through some of your posts. You seem to have a lot of questions. We’re happy to help, but I have to ask what materials you have for AAG40?

      Do you have the actual game to reference or are you part of a group and there’s only one copy you guys are sharing?

      One answer that might help is that the second edition of Axis&Allies Global 1940 has the most up to date official rules set. The alphas were for the first editions.

      If you have the manual you will want to read the rules very carefully and thoroughly.  Its easy to miss things in this edition.

      As for a picture I don’t know of one available that will suit your needs. Even if there was one, because the game is so large your avaerage sheet of paper is too small to see enough detail to use as a handout most likely. CWOMarc’s suggestion of taking a picture would be your best bet.

      I would like to play a game with at least 4 people but most of my friends that played Spring 1942 did not move on to Global.  They found it to be too time consuming and complicated.  I myself love the game and I am thinking of trying out playing a forum game at some point soon.
