      @DiscoKnekt:

      Hijacking the thread! In TrippleA, if all chinese territories are conquered by the axis and are Axis controlled during one round, then liberated by the allies, doesnt china get to place troops again?

      BOOM goes the dynamite… you are right!!!

    • RE: Yet another sub question

      sub vs sub attacker and defender roll at the exact same time (both first shot attacks) subs can choose to submerge when it comes their turn to fire. Whether its the Attacker or defender, once one chooses to submerge the battle is over. A sub can submerge and occupy the same SZ as an enemy ship without being included in the battle provided there is no destroyer present. Then when it is the other players turn, they can choose to leave the SZ. BUT!!!, if they choose to stay, rather than leave the SZ it MUST go through at least one round of firing because a sub that finishes its movement MUST conduct battle (at least 1 round of firing, but again, they cant submerge if there is an enemy destroyer present)

    • RE: Custom Global Table

      @aaronimpulse:

      Thanks Speed_Adict!

      They are completely stackable, which I will completely admit, was an accident that ended up working out in my favor! I purchased the containers before building the actual table and used the containers as a guide for my measurements. I tried to get the boxes as geographically close to their corresponding countries as possible… but anyway… here you go!

      http://www.containerstore.com/shop/bath/drawerOrganizers?productId=10023938&N=80937

      enjoy!

      UNBELIEVABLE!!! i tried to source out bamboo to build my own boxes and these are considerably cheaper (if you count waste) thanks for the link. Im looking into them as i type this. It will probably look more complete by the time im done too. Thanks again :)

    • RE: G40 Victory Objectives & Victory Tokens

      split it in half? 0.5 for each board? or make every objective worth 2 and you can split up objectives that include both boards to equal 1 token for each board. Thoughts? I think it does because it keeps the US from focusing on Japan for a token while leaving Germany free to build theirs. I know i like them carriers and the odd Battleship for Germany.

    • RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)

      @Krieghund:

      To be clear, an Axis power could only take control of Northern Italy under these circumstances by recapturing it from an Allied power.  It could not take control directly from Italy.

      Thanks for the clarification Krieghund

      If southern Italy is captured (the Capital) can Germany then move into Northern Italy and collect the 4 ipc’s? That is until Italy’s capital is liberated.

    • RE: G40 Victory Objectives & Victory Tokens

      @Young:

      Naval Supremacy is a difficult objective to gain for sure, but not impossible. Remember, the token is awarded as soon as the objective is achieved, therefore… once the Allies destroy the last Axis capital ship on the board, they will immediately receive the victory token, it might be too late for Japan to get a Battleship on the board. I was trying to reward the Allies if they spend a lot of resources on the sea, but I also wanted to keep the objective simple. IDK.

      Right, the token is awarded on completion. Its not about retaining the supremacy. These are a perfect start, but to me, perfect altogether. Again, great work YG. Well thought out!!!

      @Baron:

      • Naval supremacy
        There are no Axis Capital ships on the board

      Easy to prevent this to happen in a gamey way for Axis. Just built one BB or Carrier at the last moment.

      Maybe, it should be about naval presence in a specific Ocean.
      Example: no Axis naval Units in South or North Atlantic.
      For Asian side, it could be about Axis presence in Indian Ocean.
      IDK.

      Could make it that he ship cant be next to an industrial complex

    • RE: Need some advices

      They in fact DO have a European counterpart. Also, if it were just decals you may be able to request a standard mailing envelope if they dont have the stock you are looking for in Europe and have to get it from the US. Ask him in an email first, it never hurts to ask.

      Whether its Europe or global, if Germany makes an attack on Russia, sea or land units, Russia automatically enters the war, correct?
      And, when at war, does an axis Sub prevent Russia from collecting the SZ 125 N.O?

    • RE: Fighter/TAC/Bomber bases

      BAH!!! I was going to order them from https://www.litko.net/BMaker/ but if im going to custom order them I dont want to alter them. Especially if I go with something as clean as the Clear. I could go bigger… say match the size of the standard chips so they still stack nicely but i still think I will have the problem of them being top heavy in the end, especially since I want to have them 1.5" high and not just the one inch. I thnk Im going to hold out and try to snag up some 11mm dia 3mm thick steel blanks for a base. May take some time, but here’s to hoping

    • RE: How do I defend against heavy bombers?

      @Krieghund:

      Bombers in general are overpowered in SBRs under the box rules.  If you’re not doing so already, I suggest you play using the Larry Harris Tournament Rules.

      Yeah, those are the rules for global 40 as well:

      Heavy Bombers
      Your bombers are now heavy bombers. You roll two dice each on attack or defence and use the
      better result of the two dice. On a strategic bombing raid, roll two dice, take the better result, and
      add “1” to that result to determine the damage done by that Heavy Bomber.

    • Fighter/TAC/Bomber bases

      Does anyone think that a 12mm diameter 3mm thick base made of acrylic would be dense/heavy enough to support the bombers, TACS, and fighters on a 1.5 inch upright?

      EXCELLENT!!! These are amazing. These will be easy to trim out to just an outline. Thanks a bunch!!!

      My pleasure.  Good luck with your project.  When you refer to putting the unit images in each country, are you talking about modifying a digital version of the map or are you talking about printing out something on paper and placing it on the physical map?  Just wondering.

      I plan on modifying the digital map from YGH’s post a while back. I do like the map that cyanight made for his sheet metal table, so i think i may end up using that one (base map is the same as YGH’s, but with a couple of alterations)  http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=33872.0
