Alcon, I concur with reloader-1’s statement.  So lets just support FMG and HBG in their tremendous efforts to give us additional cool looking AA playing units.

Gents, have any you of ever been on a WWII Sherman tank or a 2 1/2 Ton Army truck?  WWII US Trucks where built bigger in size compared to a Sherman tank.  UK tanks until the Churchill and Comets for the most part except the QLT trucks was bigger than their tanks. Jap tanks where smaller than Jap trucks.  So what is the  beef about the trucks being bigger?
Example a US WWII Sherman was a mere 6.16 m in length. A USA GMC 6x6 was 6.82 m in length.
      A US M5 Halftrack was only in Length:6.33 m.
A UK  Bedford QL was 5.99 m in length. A Infantry Tank Mk I “Matilda I” was only 4.85 m in length.
A Infantry Tank Mk IV “Churchill” was only 7.44 m in length. An AEC Matador Truck was only in Length: 6.32 m.
A German Tiger Ausf E1 was 8.45 m in length, a Panther Tank was only 6.88 m in length. A German Opel Blitz Truck was only in Length: 6.105 m
PzKpfw VI Ausf. B, Tiger II was only 10.3 m in length.  A German SD.Kfz 251/1 Ausf D Halftrack was only in Length:5.80 m.
So if some FMG and HBG trucks are bigger than the Tanks and halftracks thats the way it really was in WWII.
So if any of you are WWII minature collectors as i am, then size is important only from that aspect.  The non-military minded war game player most likely dosn’t care about scale or size.

FMG, KGV Battleships, Excellent choice.  A minor modification and you can have Pre-WWII RN Lion Class Battleships that never where built.  What are looking at producing for UK Armor and Artillery?  I would like to see a Crusader III and Comet or Churchill V for the UK.  Artillery 5.5 Howitzer or British 25lber Field Gun.

    • RE: HBG Japan Supplement Set

Coach, I left one idea out, here it is.
The Type 90 240mm Railway Gun was initially deployed as a coastal artillery battery at Futtsu, Chiba, as part of the defenses guarding the entrance to Tokyo Bay. It was redeployed to Manchukuo in 1941, and based in the Hulin area of Heilongjiang, as part of the defenses against the Soviet Union, where it remained for the duration of World War II. When the Soviet Union invaded Manchukuo in the closing days of the war, the gun was destroyed by retreating Kwangtung Army forces and abandoned.

Now that would give the IJA a very unique unit!

    • RE: HBG Japan Supplement Set

Coach, here are some ideas for an Imperial Japanese set.  This is going to be awesome.
      CV  Akagi or Kaga
      CVL Ruyjo or Hosho
BB  Nagato 16 inch guns or Fuso class 14 inch guns
      BB/CV Ise
      CA Mogami Class
Type 65 Super Cruiser Projected never built
      CL Nagara or Jintsu Class
DD Akitsuki class 8 x 3.9 guns in dual gun mounts.
The Japanese specifically designed these vessels to provide AA defense for aircraft carriers. Akitsuki, Terutsuki, Hatsusuki, Niitsuki, Wakatsuki, and Shimotsuki were destroyed in World War II. Suzutsuki, Fuyutsuki, Hanatsuki, and Natsutsuki were scrapped in 1948. In 1947, the other two units, Yoitsuki and Harutsuki, were transferred to China and the Soviet Union, respectively. The Chinese scrapped their vessel in 1963; the Soviets expended their unit as a missile target ship sometime in the late 1960s.
      Heavy Bomber Rita or Nell
Long Range Recon Mavis Flying Boat
      Kate Torpedo Bomber
      Val Dive Bomber
Type 89 15CM Cannon was the main gun of the Imperial Japanese Army heavy artillery units. It was widely used from the Manchurian Incident to the end of World War II, for example, Nomonhan, Bataan and Corregidor Island, Okinawa

      Coach again just some ideas

      militaryman077,
I will gladly do that after I get moved into my new house.  Everything is in storage.  GHQ is a US company and is fairly expensive to purchase and their barrels on tanks and artillery need TLC.  Heroics and Ross and Davco/Navwar are English companies in the UK.  Their products have less detail but they don’t break as quickly as GHQ from rough handling.  The UK companies cost less but, US Customs and shipping charges may bite you like a Great White!

    • RE: Scaling of FMG & HBG Pieces - Please Vote!

Gents, I am using all different units in various scales in metal and plastic from GHQ, Heroics and Ross, Davco/Navwar, OOB, FMG, HBG and Tide of Iron.  I am using Ben Steins German units to rep H Class Battleships and UK Vanguard. The Officers all are FM Rommel, SS Infantry and Regular Infantry are being used as supplemental Germans and Axis Commanders. The 88mm Flaks and multiple rocket launchers are being used by all Axis Forces.
Truck issue with the Italian FMG, Try to think of it as a heavy truck and you won’t have a problem with the scale size. Italian army of WWII had light, Medium and Heavy trucks just like all other nations including the IJA.  If you spend time painting them like many of us long time AA players do, then size is negated by the massive new painted inventory of playing units.
AGAIN HBG AND FMG YOU ROCK!  KEEP PRODUCING UNITS THAT AVLON HILL/WIZARDS OF THE COAST WILL NEVER CREATE!

      Coach,
I second the motion proposed by Tall Paul of extending the deadline to whatever it takes to get Montana’s, Alaska’s, Midway’s, LSTs, Oilers and the other porposed units on our game boards.

All other gentlemen, the current deadline to be in on the pre-order is drawing to a close unless Coach decides to extend it.  Jump in now and order 5 to 10 sets.  Order 10 sets and join our exclusive 1010 club!  Coach is less than 15 percent away from getting to 50 percent of the money to go forward with this project.  Many others and Coach and myself really would like to see these units produced, so any takers?  Step up and put your money down.

    • RE: Review of FMG Italians and HBG Axis Minors

Caoch and FMG, Great work, you have taken on a task that AH/Wizards of the Coast is scared to death to even try.
FMG your Italian sculpts are great playing pieces for the value.  I understand you can only do so much with a small minature.  Your Naval units add more firepower to the Italian Navy and look great on the game board.  I see the issue with the BB and there is a fix if someone really wants to bother with it.  Coach your Marines add a different aspect to playing then using basic OOB units.  I am really looking forward to all your future sets and and seeing many desired units for all nations produced by you both.  Your Sets give more choices than standard OOB units.

Keep up the  fantastic work, You have my support

KNP,  I figured out a scenario for you to use your massive new FMG Italian Army,  Use half as Axis/Fascist Forces and the others as Italians allied with the UK and USA.  This will keep the Germans from taking over Italy.

Gents, Thanks for the info.  I will order my decals for I-94 Enterprises.  I did not know there are two sheets per pack.

Coach says are planes are 1/600 scale for decal purposes.  Armor is 1/285 scale.  Has anyone tried a different scale for AA decals?

Gents, has anyone ordered from I-94 Enterprise 1/600 scale and 1/285 decals and any idea how many per sheet?
I have been doing heavy research on this and Doms Decals in the UK offer a whopping 400-600 decals per sheet for about $3.60 a sheet.  $1.60 for shipping from the UK.  I-94 is not answering the phone.  Has anyone ever talked with this guy about how many decals per sheet?

    • RE: EXPANDED A&A-THE NAVAL SERIES "Coral Sea and The Solomons Campaign"

Tigerman and Tall Paul, I have been out for awhile learning a new job.  Now I am back for how long i don’t know.  The Solomons campaign are we going to treat ships as individuals or are we going to continue to use them as fleets and flotillas?  I suggest since this map is going to be a massive ocean/islands fight if we can devise rules to use the ships as individual units for combat and movement and land units as battalions and air units as squadrons.  We might have touched on this earlier, i do not recall.

Coach, I am in for this for the long haul, what ever you decide to produce is fine by me.  Just having new units to game with is going to be excellent from all stand points of this conversation. I guess I created a hornet’s nest with my eariler posts.  I am ending this discussion for myself and moving on to other issues.  Question you are producing a Nevada/Oklahoma class Battleship excellent  Is that unit being done with a tripod mast or squirrel cage mast?  I can’t get the pictures to increase in size so I can tell what type of masts this unit has.

Coach, Thank you for the quick reply.  That is interesting facts about the Casablanca and the the Independence class carriers.  So Independence was only 9 CVLs converted cruisers, but the Casablanca class was a class of 50 purpose built CVEs.  So based on this I can see your decision and support it 100 percent.  As shown below it was a large class of CVEs.

      By hull number
      (CVE-55) Casablanca
      (CVE-56) Liscome Bay

    • RE: EXPANDED A&A-THE NAVAL SERIES "Coral Sea and The Solomons Campaign"

Tigerman and I are working on our Expanded A&A–The Solomons Campaign and it hopefully will be an worthwhile arena to showcase all of these new ship, aircraft, and land unit types.  We’re planning for it to cover the Solomon Islands chain from the Admiralties in the North to New Caledonia in the South and be the size of an entire G-40 map.

Tall Paul and Tigerman,  What are the dims of this Solomons Campaign Map going to be?  I am wondering if I will need a bigger table to field this one on.  I do not have any other Maps yet apart from the gigantic Map by Ben Stein which is 4 ft by 6 ft. and all the AA OOB maps.  I do not think Eagle Games Attack maps even come close to the scale you guys are talking about.

      Cheers
