So you acknowledge that there is a Gay Bomber after all?
Acknowledged but not in the 2012 way of thinking.
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
I agree they should have chosen the Essex or Enterprise for the US carrier. I am toying with modifying some of the Wasps into Essex class carriers by simply adding a new flight deck using old credit cards to the exsisting flight decks. Till FMG or HBG comes out with an Essex it will have to do.
If this works I will post a picture ot two.
P-38 was used in all theatres of the war, but they could have given us a real carrier fighter such as the Hell Cat or Corsair instead for use in carrier operations.

Enola Gay is a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Enola Gay Tibbets, mother of the pilot, then-Colonel (later Brigadier General) Paul Tibbets.[2] On 6 August 1945, during the final stages of World War II, it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb as a weapon of war. The bomb, code-named “Little Boy”, was targeted at the city of Hiroshima, Japan, and caused unprecedented destruction.
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
Did any other scuplts change in the Pacific 1940 Second Edition besides the ones mentioned already? My copy is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday this week.
WARRIOR888
Guys, I am retired USAF and I have never seen a gay Bomber Aircraft in my life. Typo error?
Where did that dumb phrase come from?
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
Coach has a unique business in providing us with units that in plastic in AA scale we would most likely never see. FMG is in their creating units as well. Know that more a greater units are in the pipeline and he listens to all of our ideas and considers the best possible mix for each an every set.
Coach and FMG keep up the great work.
WARRIOR888
Coach and Variable just make the all the colors listed above, I will buy complete sets.
WARRIOR888
Jermey,
Thanks for the update. Now all you gentlemen who are less than the age of the original AA need to think what you are saying about FMG. Molds are roughly $10,000 a piece to create. The you have to deal with Communist Chinese customs, shipping charges, and Royal Canadian Customs to deal with. My experince as an 31 year USAF Transportation Officer customs officials can hold your product for no reason at all and then ask you to pay them for the privlage of holding your product. Ask Coach about that he can vouch for that personally.
You guys whine and complain about FMGs lack of communication that is understood. Bashing them is way out of line unless you know the whole story which at this point not one of us does. If you are complaining about several months waiting for products to enhance your playing I’ve been waiting 20 plus years to see the units Jeremy and Coach are producing. So just keep your comments civil towards both FMG and HBG because without their willingness to produce these units you would be stuck with Avlon Hill units and maybe if you can afford some GHQ, Navwar, Navco, and Heroics and Ross metal units or the stuff Xeno games produced.
Jeremy you have my support.
WARRIOR888
Gents,
I just call them what they really were, FLAK GUNS, works for me.
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
Cool Stuff is the way to go if your order is over $100.00. Ive got 3 1941s and 1 1942 on pre-order and they assured me they will ship as soon as they receive them.
WARRIOR888 :-D
Gentlemen,
MY wife says Hobby Lobby sells FIMO. i am checking this stuff out this weekend, Think of the re-sclupting that can be done with a molding clay! I can easily see a BB/CV ISE class being constructed by me in the future.
WARRIOR888
Variable,
Those units are awesome, Think a dedicated AA Flak for Germany, US, UKm USSR and Japan! What will they think of next? Hopefully they give at least 5 for each nation, not just one.
WARRIOR888
Variable and Coach,
I like the way you are thinking concerning these new units. Awesome lineup.
WARRIOR888
IP I have both and played them muliple times. It is hard as the Japanese to win in the Pacific. North Africa is a total lost cause. The Rules do add a wide variety of options to play, SS Panzers, Paratroopers, Destroyers, Sub Pens.
I have over the years incorportated all the playing pieces into my Axis and Allies so I do not play them any more.
Both games are fairly balanced. World at war you can play the Poles, Italians, Greeks, Turks, Spanish, Hungarins, French, Dutch and Scandanavia with the first addition and and extra playing pieces Xeno provided. Quality of playing peices are not equal to the MB AA first genration game.
Hope this helps.
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
Have any you ever heard of the Japanese Pilot who in the evening as the sun was going down miss-took a RN Armoured deck carrier for his own and was astonished when he stepped onto the deck and found it armoured?
The only Imperial Japanese Navy carrier that I have heard might have had an armoured deck was Taiho.
Can anyone confirm this?
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
I have a 1-700 Royal Navy Ark Royal, The new AA resembles it fairly close. The main thing I see for it to truly rep the Ark Royal is it should be a little bit taller. It looks fairly flat to me. As for it looking like an Essex or any other USN Aircraft carrier not even a faint resembelance to the Essex class carriers. It would need a bigger island and more catwalks and 5 inch DPs on the flight deck and be a bit longer.
WARRIOR888
What I’m afraid of after seeing pics of 1941 is that when they reprint Europe 1940 they will do the same thing…all Allies get the same sculpts and all Axis get the same sculpts. So France will get HMS Hood battleships and IS-2 tanks while Italy gets Kongo battleships and Tiger tanks.
Now gentlemen, that would really drive their sales into the sewer and prove what we on this forum have known all along, Wizards of The Coast Avlon Hill doesn’t care about quality or iconic. It all about the bottom line greenbacks! Let get real Tigers and JS IIs in 1940 or 1941 how stupid can you get!
The French need a Full land, Air and Naval set just as the Japanese are receiving. Think about it, the French Army was one of largest in the world before WWII and their Navy was larger than any Axis accept the IJN!
The French had more different types of tanks then the entire German, Italian and Japanese Armies combined.
From their small calvary tanks to their 10 each massive Char 2C monsters built by FMC.
WARRIOR888
Variable and Coach,
You have just earned my ulimate respect and admiration. You will add a diminsion to AA that I have wanted for years. I was Extremely digusted with Milton Bradley’s Game Master series first generation AA when I discovered zero authenic forces for WW II acept the infantry. So gentlemen take the time and do these right and I assure you will have many orders from me in the future on the Imperial Japanese and any future Axis and Allied complete battle sets. Again Thank You for the privilege of participating in the recommendations for this set. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.
WARRIOR888
Gentlemen,
As I have said in previous posts some of us here have waited over 26 years for actual authentic looking AA playing units. So I personally do not care how much longer it takes for Coach and Variable to produce a quality product that will give years of enjoyment to my favorite game. Variable and Coach, keep up your excellent work and take the time you need to do the production of these new units :-D :-D :-D :-D right.
