So, Twilight Struggle. Great game, or awesome game?

Seriously, one of my very few friends in the area who plays wargames introduced me to it a month or two ago, and I can’t get enough of it. It’s relatively easy to learn to play, but deceptively difficult to get good at (I think I’m improving, but I still lose 8 out of 10 games at least). Anyone else ever played it? (And for that matter, anyone want to arrange to play a game or two either over Vassal or wargameroom.com?)

Also, reading the story, it sounds a lot like 1998, before the Tech Bubble burst.  Super economy, wage and job creation growth, high investment yields…

If past trends are any indication, 2006 will see a serious “bust” in the economy.  I am betting on a collapse of specific areas for the real estate bubble that will trickle into other areas of the economy, combined with a repeat rise in liquid fuels prices after a winter of extremely elevated consumer expense on heating fuels that will slow consumer spending in 2006.

Increasing instability in the Middle East will further strain fuel prices and guarantees of supplies, further slowing the economy.

Anyone care to lay odds?

Those were the rulings I was referring to when I said I still had reservations. If he lacks a clear stance on abortion, it leads me to think he’ll lack a clear stance on other important issues, which is something I’d rather avoid. And, if his stance is that the Constitution somehow includes an article assuring that abortions are to be free and federally protected… I’m sure you can all guess my reaction to that ;).
