Oops - yeah, thanks Variable… haven’t played either Diplomacy or Supremacy in many years.
LHoff - hmm… well, 15mm being the largest. Though having said that, it depends what you’re working on.

I have no words. I just look wide-eyed and blinking. Amazing seems to be an understatement. Breathe taking seems to fall short of a good discripition also. I do have two questions. Where did you get the mushroom cloud and Where did you get the Nuc. missle?
Cheers Yavid! I recently brought it to a gaming session where I didn’t know the players - eh eh eh… they were really, really surprised.
I believe the cloud is from an old copy of Diplomacy. The missile is from a Table Tactics set, I think discontinued as well but perhaps still being sold from FMG or HBG (note: HBG have a missile that looks more appropriate for a nuke…).
I assume you use acrylic paints Viracocha…
Do you have any wisdom with enamels… specifically on A&A pieces?
Yeah, I use mainly water based paint, though I have used enamel for some parts - if I want them shiny. From my experience, enamel doesn’t seem to adhere as well.
Thanks fellas! 8-)
They’re holding up really well sgt, but I took a lot of time to do a thin layer of clear coat, let it dry… repeat process. A little “shedding” (loss of terrain) happened for awhile, but that stopped eventually.
Eh eh eh - thank you sir. The Louvre - hehehehe, much obliged. I’ve been working on some FMG’s, I actually think they’re more detailed - there will be some posts of them up soon.
You only have one and you’re selling it Gar? I think it’s the best edition to date - I’m surprised you’re selling it…
WHoa. Those came out a little too big on the zoom. But you get the gist.
I must say sir, you have some fine minis there :-D Love the collars and your terrain turned out pretty cool. I’d suggest trying the terrain material labelled as ‘fine’ as well, has a dust - like appearance.
Interesting that you used a glue mix, how’s the finish look on that? Something that can’t truly be gleaned from photos online… I haven’t tried that because I was worried it would come out too shiny. No? Wondering because I just sprinkle directly on the base paint and it seems to hold.
Hope you don’t mind me posting these here, but I think images of the ‘threads’ kinda terrain exhibits better than my previous explanation.

Yeah, honestly, hands-on is the best way to go. Judging from the splendid detailing you’ve already done, should be a cake walk for ya with some cool looking results.
Hey man - those look awesome! Love the BB especially.
In regard to the terrain basing… I use any and every (mostly for train sets, from turf to fine gravel) I try to stick to limiting certain types/colors consistently with one nation, makes it easy to ID at a glance (ref. my AA50th). But I do mix them up for ‘spotting’, these I haven’t posted yet. I call it spotting when I take some larger clumps/higher scale(?) of terrain and only put a bit in one spot - gives it the look of a bush or small tree. As far as applying any terrain, I simply sprinkle it on when the base paint is still fresh, the base paint being a color close to the nation’s color. No worries when/if you apply a clear coat, it helps. If you decide to try out some of the ‘thread like’ grasses that say… Gamesworkshop puts out, it’s a little more involved (well, at least I make it that way). After you sprinkle the threads on you do one more step, hold the mini upside down and tap it, I also brush the threads upwards around the base with a finger or a brush. This way the majority of the threads stick up like real brush. On my AA50th set I covered even the sides of the bases (and I didn’t use any thread grasses on them), but I kinda prefer to leave the sides of the bases their original color now (hindsight :| ). Hope that helps… let me know, I can try to explain further if need be.
Awesome! Ready-for-the-desert scheme, sweet.
The tri was on tanks as well…

Well, the above are drawings but I have the impression they modeled them after the real deal.
But there’s also this photo, I think that’s the flag not a divisional marking…
I’ve seen other photos of tanks featuring the flag as well (and have looked at one in a museum once that had the flag - but that wasn’t an armored car). :-D

Mussolini’s regime also sported the flag pictured. The Autoblinda frequently had a flag on the side as in the photo as well, but as far as all the other parts with the flag’s colors - yeah, that looks like pageantry I think…
Those are some pretty snazzy results, love that German armor :-D
@suprise:
Yes, I think my message was sent
Negative. Message intercepted.
Know what you’re say’in, anymore I paint the minis far, far more than have a chance to play. Hey… you’re in the Midlands - throw me a PM Chag, where you located? I’m in Londontown but if I ever was in your territory, it’d be nice to squeeze in a game.
Yep - I’m with Jeff, they look awesome! Must be a pretty impressive sight during your gaming sessions!
