Wow! Pure awesome Johnson! Did you use enamel or a gloss coat? Turned out nice - the gloss blends out the decal lines which is a bonus.

Excellent Tigers Swedo! Dammit… now I want to go and buy the whole fricking game just to get those…
I happen to think the game is fun… but you can always just get a handful of P-40’s from Coach at HBG.
Oh yeah… thanks for the reminder Variable! (I don’t doubt the game is fun, but it’s a time thing - already have sooo many games that haven’t even been on the table yet…)

Interesting in that it was outlined by a speculative fiction writer, I don’t think it could have truly happened, unless of course you add something more sci-fi like this:

LHoff - yep, did indeed. My AA50th errr… project(?) endeavours(s) predates all our fancy options out there now by FMG and HBG, that Biz is from a different game/scale yet I really liked it. In retrospect, I should have done some clay options for smoothening… oh well, it’s seen some action  I intend on ultimately making that edition of mine some sort of “grand mix” of different painted models (FMG HBG OOB etc.), thought it would be cool to represent (and as much as I would like to, have supplement rules correlating to pieces but our games are long enough and time being short, it’ll probably be more for the spirit of it rather than game mechanic).

Great idea. I think your best bet would be to check the gift shops at said locations - I would think most have online purchase options as well…

Nice! Those Brits and their stockings and shorts! eh eh eh eh Liking those commies and yermans in jackboots too. Your choice for the U.S. infantry is pretty cool… kinda a gray/green…

RE: AAA50th painted minisposted in Customizations
Heyo Rammstein….
Huh, that’s strange, could have sworn I answered your post and the previous. Ah well.
1. A clear spray coat. Not gloss or dull (though I have seen some pretty snazzy glossed minis, it’s a personal choice).
2. Terrain material for the smallest scale of train modeling and/or miniatures gaming material.
3. After the initial cleaning of the figs I give them an undercoat, the color depends on what will be the main colors used.
4. First off, I use a magnifier with a round light around it  Some of the small details you’re talking about are decals, while others are done with a brush, and there’s some combos decal/brush work.
5. Sorry but my answer to this one is lame. I don’t really know… I did this project over a very long period of time and have access to many ‘bits’ of other games. Really depends on what you want your finished product to look like… :|

Thank you. I Like your work too. I dont have the same patience as you though. Im currently working on the infantry… it takes forever and is so boring!
Thanks man. Not sure about that patience comment… because those ships are like shrunken duplicates of the real deal - that must have taken some serious patience. Looking forward to seeing the infantry!

Yeah, it does take quite awhile… I did mine over a year I think, casually painting here and there when the mood took me (sometimes the mood was more like a need eh eh eh :)

RE: FRANCE and ANZAC COMBAT DICE - HELP us design them!posted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
Well, we have to get the FMG Tigers first. There was a pic of two of the prototype FMG King Tigers with an OOB Panther to give you some idea of size comparison.
The HBG Shermans are a bit smaller than the OOB Shermans, which I think makes them look more realistic compared to the OOB Panthers. The OOB Shermans were a little too large in my opinion. The Panther was a pretty big tank.
However, I think WOTC made the Shermans this way because all OOB pieces seem to be within a certain range for each different type of unit. For Example, all Aircraft Carriers are 64mm long, all battleships are between 58 and 62 mm long, and so on. I think all the tanks were between 20 and 22 mm long. I think this was WOTC’s way of keeping some sort of continuity between sculpts. So while the Panthers and Tigers look okay, Shermans look a little too big. That’s especially true with Japan’s Type 95. On the board, it’s as big as a Sherman yet in real life, the Type 95 was a tiny tank. Not nearly as big as a Sherman and not even close to the size of a Panther. I think if a Type 95 was made to the same scale as the Panther, the piece would be around 13-15mm in length and end up looking like the tiny mech inf units.Hey KNP, the OOB Sherman in the AA50 is smaller and pretty much the same size as the HBG Sherman (btw).

RE: My latest Pantherposted in Miniatures Painting & Modeling
@Field:
again…thanks for the kind words. The Panther camo came as a surprise to me too. It started out as trying to duplicate something a had a picture of but the brush ended up doing something completely different. I could see I was off track but I continued painting the splatter and it all seemed to come together. I will eventually paint my entire mid - late war German army vehicles in this camo. Its too tedious to paint any more than 1 mini at a time with frequent breaks for eye strain on these almost 50 year old eyes. I used a 18X & 25X brush to paint the camo with vellejo Panzer Colors paints. I’m working 80 hour weeks so it could be a while before I complete it but I will post it when its finished.
I hear ya! It’s pretty cool when a fig seemingly ends up painting itself
