Here is some of the US navy, mostly the OOB’s from over the years. Sure they lack some detail but I think it can be painted in, and something refreshing about the minimalist game piece look.

@Imperious-Leader Oh HEY! You’re here (none of the people I gamed with and talked most with have been on here for many, many - well, as long as me). eheheh - Scrolled back many years and few screens. I’ve been working with German (Italian gamer you have the acquaintance/friend of) making some small edits to one of your past excellent pieces of cartography, no idea which one it is - resembles something between the Nova map and the first MB’s editions, absolutely brilliant stuff. No longer semi-nomadic, have room for a large printing (insert Mu-ha-ha-ha) - and of course, it’s a slightly expanded and tweaked variant of the anniversary 50th now 40th, eh eheheh - that was confusing for me - but the re-release timed with my getting comfy with A&A again. So in all your map weaving, how often you include the Rockies? Because I think that considering the level of the conflict of Anniv. these wouldn’t register. I mean, there was the transcontinental railway and route 66, the other no passing neutral regions don’t have any real routes through. But still…can’t help but think that a WWII tech. level army wouldn’t have it easy. I ask this because I still debate wether they should be present though perhaps with a route line like the Burma road, controlling both sides is unhindered movement, otherwise, only 1 land unit (2 if mech inf. tech dev.) but unlimited aircraft. But again…considering the perspective strategy level of the Anniv. edition…perhaps this is not appropriate and books like Man in the High Castle where the Rockies always provided the divide comes to mind… What say you?

@HBG In regard to our email correspondence, this is me on here - you’ve seen my miniatures and detailing in the past, (John F. Montagne).

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
@Viracocha Fashioned a different area for combat that is the bottom of the AA50th box. Not used every time but changes things up, was a whim.

@Viracocha
Old Table Tactics B-29, they’re slated for replacement but I think I’ll keep the Enola Gay around/in the box for good measure. Above is my first attempt at the Fury, other models turned out a little more obvious. Will move along to …aircraft? Tanks? -

@The-Captain Here are the tech charts that I edited slightly for flare and sized then printed to fit inside each of the nations unit box lids.Focused research AA50th.xls

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
@The-Captain Hiya, here’s the ruleset, it seems lengthy but it is only a 1 branch tech tree, as in there is only 1 type of unit gained from each tech dev., though there are two “twigs” I guess (long-range aircraft and radar, L-R and Jets). Other photos showing what is used to detail tech developments really helps - you’ve pre-empted me! eh eh eh
A-bombs are here. This makes many A&A players shudder - iz ok…it doesn’t turn into a nuclear war game. BUT - having the development and deploying the A-bombs with clouds is pretty cool on the board - though it actually doesn’t happen often. The A-Bomb rules are adapted from Nova, as are several of the rules. The convoy and neutral rules can’t really be used with the OOB anniversary map, but everything else does - space may be a problem on the standard boards. Unseen are how the mechanics visually play out to assist the players, I use OOB units as the standards for the most part, specialized sculpts for all gleaned from tech advancements. The rules on neutrals and convoys are relatively recent adds with some uncertainty still, though their variants have been played many times elsewhere. The rest of the AAAII rules always worked out pretty good on the standard AA50th, albeit the use of task force boards due to added minis. Give it a gander, perhaps a ponder: Not sure if I should place this here? Well, someone can delete or move if needed of course…A&A Anniv. II Rules 1 branch tech tree no startup charts.pdf

@Viracocha Ah - some other US infantry photos, more Rangers, will see if there are any Marine Raiders about… Some whimsy with WWII era super heroes - goes with the war bonds tech dev as optional rules, not really all that supernatural but used for recruitment purposes and have the abilities of the other adv. infantry. Some mods to some OOB’s, a lot of that among my neutrals…

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
@Panther coolio, no worries. Rather rude of me to come back after so long and say disparaging things about the site’s layout and how things work…so I won’t, my sentiments are obvious.
Adding a few other U.S. units…

@barnee I had planned on posting more, sure.

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
@barnee Yeah, I see there is some kind of reputation mechanic/dynamic or something, huh… Well, cheers for that “up-vote” (nope, don’t like it…sounds weird).

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)
Hello! I am “re-introducing,” first became a member back in 2009, I am uncertain when I began playing A&A, early 1980’s, still have the Nova though mainly just used when I take pics of minis. I had completely tricked out/detailed the A&A50th some years after its release - so that it was mobile as I worked for months at a time abroad. The set took major causalities about 12 years ago, half destroyed and many pieces MIA. But we can rebuild, stronger, faster - I have almost completed redoing the set, this time with a custom map and new customizations! Can you tell I’m enthusiastic about it? eh eh eh In the distant past I had done commissions for museums and some gaming companies - started to post my A&A anniversary set here, but I reached my limit before even completing the infantry - but a few good G.I.'s were able to get a foothold. Had planned to post others.
Situated and taken up residence some years ago - now room for a larger map and have gathered the armies that were stored here and there. And - recovered my login here, good stuff.
PS: Oh -that’s my late father as my profile photo, WWII tanker, Sherman.

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
@Viracocha I have been informed that I have reached a posting limit…I guess it has changed since 2009/when I first became a member - lol, I don’t recall having a limit, was there? Bummer. Well, there’s a few of the infantry. It was fun detailing them.

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
There were many games abroad until running afoul with a malicious border guards about a dozen years ago…my AA50th has been redone again, well, not yet - almost. This set is for a set of house rules of a 1 branched tech. tree, in case you’re wondering as to the different units. I’ll start with the USA thus far…

So the top dark greens and some trench coats for winter climes are the standard US GI’s, a lot of changes for these infantry - so many cool sculpts out there. I settled on these the second time around - they give me that playing with large gummy type soldiery as a young lad, yet detailed enough to be pretty spot-on in regard to historical reflection and “fluid” or realistic looks/poses. There are a few from a different set mixed in - some lighter uniforms and gear for the Pacific infantry.
Airborne are next - chose the 101st but have some Army Angels as well (not pictured). These come with the Parachute tech dev. - Airborne, must be purchased with a reg. infantry, +1 the 1st combat round when dropped in. Can act as an escort in commando raids.
Marines next - though these units are slightly dated, my later ones have the grey/blue trousers. These are the most common Airfix - meh…most are fluid anatomically, though some don’t like the size variance among them - I dig it, people were different sizes, but understandable if you want more the gaming piece same size all-around kinda thing… -
RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
Many years ago, completed and made for global travel so as to have global war.

Heya Paul -
Whew….been a long time yeah? Think I have some time again to meander around here a bit  I have nearly completed overhauling the whole of the AAA edition of mine - was trying again to start posting…
Later edit: Yeah…I have posted a photo of some artillery, but it may be that it’s my camera…really bad detail when it comes to using it (a phone) that close. But I have an idea or two - will try again soon~
