      With respect to the game board, I would have preferred the Chinese territories be divided east / west instead of north / south. Also, given the late 1941 start date for the game, Southeast Asia should have been divided into two territories - British Burma and Japanese occupied French Indochina.

      In regard to the setup, why is there no Chinese (American) infantry in Northwestern China? I guess the Soviet player could move some of his infantry to Northwestern China from the Caucasus. I hope this is a mistake that will be corrected by future errata.

      @Red:

      this might have beem mention but why not make a simple set of free French by just making regular A&A or an orginal scupt Inantry, US Shemans, 105 Howitzers and/or M-7 Priest, M-3 Half tracks and Brit Spitfires and Maquitoes all in light blue.  nice and simple. The Free French were mostly US made equipment anyway and HBG dosn’t make these in this color.

      HBG has available its Allies Supplement set in Light Blue (http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/HBG-Battle-Pieces–Allies-Supplement-set-Light-Blue_p_1132.html), and I think it’s also planning to produce the same set in OOB French dark blue in the near future.

      I completely agree. But that isn’t what he said.

      And the House(hanger) has a very small “footprint”, about the same size as the base of an Infantryman, only square instead of round.

      It’s simply a choice. No space used and a “Symbol”,……OR
      A tiny space used by a more 3-dimensional representation. Pick whichever one you like.

      “Build” is misspelled in the Russian box.  Just in case it got missed and/or has not gone to print yet.

      Today’s numbers:

      HBG = 6 fans;

      GW 1939 = 9 fans;

      Inv of  Ita = 6 fans;

      Okinawa = 6 fans and

      WW III = 3 fans.

      Don’t forget to comment and rate the games as well. It would be really cool if we could get Global War 1939 on the “Hotness” list!

      The website says:
      “They will be done in 2 colors, Burnt orange to match the Out of Box color and Yellow Gold for veteran pieces.”
      I would like to see a third color if possible – ROSE for Siam/Thailand units.

      It would be easy to mark them, you could simply tip them on their sides like in revised / classic 2 hit battleships.

      I think I’ll try this, but I will still require that payment be made to repair them.

      Okay gang,

      Paul and I are going to start two separate projects from this point forward. Paul will do his best to preserve the info from this thread as it pertains to his game which you can follow here:

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=24848.0

      As far as my game (simplified version using more or less OOB pieces) you can follow it in this thread:

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=24875.0

      Thank you everyone and we both encourage full participation and idea sharing in both our ventures. As Paul says, we want to have MORE FUN!

      L

      Hallo guys, I would like to share something about this topic.

      Thank you for reading.

      I have created SITREP, The day after… It’s basically Axis and Allies in a modern setting, starting the day after 9/11.

      Modern units, a complete redesigned worldmap. It is all there.

      In this boardgame, six powers are involved.

      United States of America, United Kingdom, NATO at one side. On the other side, there are The Arab league, Russia and China.

      I spend lots and lots of time to translate the ‘real’ situation into an Axis and Allies setting and according play style.
      So far, I am very pleased and satisfied with the result.

      I have recently created a new website to share the details with other players.
      The introduction may be Dutch
      The game rules however, are written in English.

      See my website for some details, and feel free to comment.

      When G40 is finalized, probably a pretty version might be posted when it’s declared official. It would make an easy depot for this important information and probably we could support it with some of the new setup cards so you got a one stop shop thing going.

      The territories are intentionally squared off as part of the “look” I was going for. Wanted to give it a modern, almost sci-fi feel to it since it depicts a conflict that never actually happened.

      The green territories represent US “landing areas” in a way. Places where new US units may be placed after purchase simulating safe landing areas for reinforcements from the mainland. Grey are NATO nations, brown Russia, orange Pact, and light tan neutral.

      We use this rule. If fighters are in a territory with a air base, they may scramble to an anjacent sea zone. TAC or Bombers may not scramble.
      Good rule.

      @CWO:

      @Make_It_Round:

      Players: 2 - 5

      Well, if France was a playable ally, it should have read:

      Players: 2 - 6

      Perhaps what they mean is that France, although it’s playable, is controlled by one of the Allied players, in the same way that China in Pacific 1940 gets its own game turn but is controlled by an Allied player.

      Agreed, this is only logical. As for game time listed, I’ve always found estimates on wargames are WAY OFF.

      Thank you for all the great compliments folks! I chose this set for its relatively small number of pieces and it represents one of the battles that most interested me in the pacific campaign.

      Absolutely.  I have an excess, so I am fine with selling them.  Again, list what you want to me.
