Hi Bob,
Thanks for an amazing job! I printed everything out last night on glossy photo paper. I’m working on mounting it to some black foamcore using a spray adhesive today. I’ll get some pics up when I’m done. So far, the boards look awesome!

No problem. When you do get a physical sample though, this would be a good pic to see.
Will there be any price difference (including shipping) between getting the 8 country set vs. the 6 country set + upgrade? I’m looking to support your efforts with a purchase but would like the full 8 country set when it’s available.
Could you post a pic of the ANZAC die next to the German and Italian ones? I’m trying to get a feel for how they differ in color.
Squeaky wheel, gang. Everyone needs to complain multiple times.
I think that’s the answer too. I have had to email WOTC regarding P40, AA50, GC, and DD. I wasn’t the first on any of them. Strength in numbers on this one.
Yep looks great! Will there be a “Supreme Commander” set with all 8 sets of dice?
Yes, it will have a larger DICE BAG and will include ALL NATIONS in one! Of course we will send out a newsletter and post here where members who already have COMBAT DICE can just purchase an “upgrade kit” (New bag with ANZAC and FRANCE)
As for the product name… Im open to suggestions. Our theme so far is: COMBAT DICE (+Deluxe), COMBAT UNITS, COMBAT CHIPS etc etc.
Any suggestions? COMMANDER SET? 1940 Edition? GLOBAL CONFLICT EDITION?
Since there is Combat Dice and Deluxe Combat Dice, how about Global Command Combat Dice? Too long maybe…
Here’s something I’ve been working on. I apologize if someone has posted this in the past. If so, please link me to it. I don’t purport to be an original thinker. If it hasn’t great. Pick it apart and tell me how to fix it.
Basically the idea is to give preferential combat results to “better than needed rolls” like this:
A unit firing at a 1 has no change in the rules.
A unit firing at a 2 hits a unit firing at a 1 with a 2, or a 2 with a 1.
A unit firing at a 3 hits a unit firing at a 1 with a 3, a 2 with a 2, or a 3 with a 1.
A unit firing at a 4 hits a unit firing at a 1 with a 4, a 2 with a 3, a 3 with a 2, or a 4 with a 1.
If the target that is hit is not available, you simply go upwards on the chart (i.e a 1 hits a 2 if no 1’s are targets).
I hope this makes sense. I’m having a tough time putting it into words…
So far, the only thing I don’t like is attacking fighters have to destroy all "3"s before they can hit defending fighters at a 4. But then again, your opponent would choose casualties this way anyway.
The purpose of this is to avoid all the infantry dying first every time. It’s way too unrealistic for me.
Thoughts?
Nothing much, I skipped email all together and just called them up on the phone.
Explained that I only received 5 chinese infantry and couldn’t even start the game as I was missing so many.It was only chinese infantry, they apologized for the problem, asked for my address and such and told me they would process it and send out replacements. Before I hung up they also mentioned to me, I didn’t bring it up, that there was a problem with the battleboard and new ones were being made. They put me on the list for it.
I called back last week as I hadn’t seen the parts yet, but then informed me it can take up to 2 weeks to process the request before it ships, so monday was 2 weeks, so if I don’t see anything by friday I’m planning to call again.
I have always received replacements from WOTC when they said they were on the way. It may be the fine folks at the US Post Office…
Yep looks great! Will there be a “Supreme Commander” set with all 8 sets of dice?
That’s a stock reply from them as I have seen it many times. It means they will be sending you 2 Jap tacs, 2 US tacs, and your missing chips.
I can see that we are going to have to walk through the sub rules step by step to get this straight. I reread the rules last evening and I was surprised at some of the subtle questions I missed.
First, it appears “defending” subs can shoot at unescorted transports. This is a slight contradiction to the rule that says transports can ignore subs during an amphibious landing. It appear the subs do get to make a single roll against the transports. However, if I read the rules properly, these subs would only hit on a 1.
Actually they hit on a 2 even if defending in this case.
I think I finally got all the rules through my thick skull. Thanks guys!
It’s official. He works for the game designer, Larry Harris and is our best resource here (IMO).
I will do the same:
Since I’m the one that pointed out a lot of threads were ending in WOTC bashing with no real plan of action, I feel I should comment.
I support what MaherC is saying here. I didn’t have to resort to calling to get my tacs, but apparently the rest of us do. I’ve had multiple cases of having to ask for defective or missing pieces to be replaced by WOTC so maybe that’s why I was treated differently, I don’t know. I’m glad to see we are starting to take a united stand on what we believe in:
1. The game did not live up to previous PRODUCTION standards.
2. We don’t blame Krieg or Larry for PRODUCTION problems.
3. We need to continue to support each other to help maintain the standard we expect from WOTC in the games we buy and play.
Kreig, Larry, and the others are hard at work sorting this out. We must have faith in them that we will get the game back to what Larry wanted it to be. Remember, this isn’t some video game you’ll be bored with next week. We all bought this as an intellectual investment to enjoy for years. And we will if we just give them the time to work out the details of the new problems that have come up. In the meantime, I too believe the focus should be on the tangible quality problems that WOTC has caused in production and leave the rules stuff to sorted out correctly, not quickly.
First off, fantastic work. Much simpler to follow. Thank you!
First question - After reading the U.S. political section, I’m confused again on the timing of the 40IPC bonus. Assuming the US declares war, would they get +40 on US3 to spend on US4 or not until US4 to spend on US5? Now assuming Japan declares war on J2, do they get the bonus to spend on US2 or on US2 to spend on US3? Sorry for beating a dead horse on this but I’m hung up on the wording.
Second question - With the UK/ANZAC having “guardianship” of Dutch territories, do they still need to physically occupy the Dutch territories to get their NO bonuses?

After taking a few more looks, I’m starting to see what you mean. I think they will be different enough. Hopefully the others are easier to tell apart though.
Did one for Amazon. All true since I did buy a copy for friend who is now addicted (takes over his dining room table).
Thanks for the “Great War” stuff and we are still far from even :-P
Build transports and infantry to keep taking the islands near Australia. It’s not only an ANZAC NO, but keeps Japan from one of theirs. Plus buying fighters and landing them there will stall Japanese fleets (scramble rule).
He must have lost the last game of Magic…
Yes, the rules say each sub fires once at a 2.
