      Here’s some pics of ILs map. Notice the color coding of the territories and the fact I don’t need ANY chips…

      You accumulate VPs every turn. So control of 6 airfields = 6VP per turn. You lose.

    • RE: Accurate Miniature Equivalents for Custom Painting your 1940 E&P

      Since it’s rude to hijack someone else’s thread, I’ve moved further discussion of my painting project to the following thread. It includes updated pics of the completed project, but I hope to take better pics with my wife’s camera next week. Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

      Special thanks to AllWork - without his beautiful work here, I would have never known how to paint mine and never thought I could be capable of producing a product I’m happy with. Cheers mate!

    • Painted Guadalcanal

      Hi everyone,

      For those that have been following this project in the E40 forum, I put it here as it’s more appropriate.

      For those that are new to the project, I was inspired by our member, AllWorkNoClay, to paint some pieces for A&A. I knew it was too much for me to paint a complete AA50 or G40 set, so I went with Guadalcanal, especially since I really enjoy the Pacific naval battles.

      So, this is the result of an estimated 80 hours worth of squinting, backache, trips to the craft store, and research on the interwebs that stretched over nearly 2.5 months. Enjoy.

      P.S. - Larry, this is for you and your brave father that fought on the islands of the Pacific.

      @Viracocha:

      Fantastic!  Really like your touches to the aircraft carriers!  Huh - wouldn’t have thought I’d like that shade of blue on the cats… but I actually like 'em a lot.

      I tried the darker Navy blue first, but it was overpowering. I used it for the base of the roundels instead. If I ever get some Corsairs though, the dark blue will look great on them.

      Got the number decals from your guy at I-94 Enterprises.

      Hey Variable, Can you tell me how many decals came on each sheet from I-94? I have my Pac40 pieces done for the Japanese and I am STILL trying to figure out what to order.

      If you feel really ambitious it would be awesome if you could tell me what part numbers you ordered (Some countries (like Japan) have several different decal kits they recommended and I am wondering what ones are the flags and what are the red dots, etc…)

      Thanks!

      Sure. I bought LB-102 (Black letters) and LW-102 (White Letters). Each gives you about 4 sets of small letters/numbers and 4 sets of large letters/numbers. The numbers on the carriers are the “larger” size of the two that are included. “O” and “0” are the same if you need extra “0” decals.

    • RE: My AAA Command Center Bunker

      Looks rad! Yes, I know I want one…

      One tip- More pieces - less or no chips = extra radness. This half the point of our own maps! Print it big, buy a gagillion minis, and never look at chips again.

      Here’s my pic of IL’s 1942 map without needing chips. Never needed any the whole game! It was great.

    • RE: IL AAG40 map?

      @skinny1:

      IL, is the AA50 1939 map you made under the other maps the final corrected version?

      No, he mentioned these are separate projects. You won’t see the G40 map until after E40 is released. He does this on purpose.

      Quick question on Europe. Why are Germany and Italy one TT each, but places like Poland are 3? Just wondering why you didn’t split up Germany and Italy more.

    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

      Well, I’d say if you’re going to make just one color, match something. If you make a totally unique color, it’s no better than making a totally unique size. Useless to A&A players.

      @Dylan:

      do you think that a Combat Helicopter or Speed Boat would be good for a future game or anything else……

      If you include a Ferrari and a briefcase piece, we could do a Miami Vice game  :-D :-P

      I used one of the original fighters from A&A 2nd edition. Doesn’t matter what color since you need to paint it. Looks pretty good.

      Bought the extra colours.

      Anyone here have the Table Tactics in light blue, though?

      So far, the only way I’ve seen to get it is to buy Cromwell. You could always email Jack and ask if he’ll to a special order for you. He has for me in the past on the WWI set. Use the email link at tabletactics.com

      Someone has been digging in the archives.

      Hmm, I think this is my fault. I resurrected the idea after buying some modern Table Tactics pieces on closeout.

      @reloader-1:

      Best game out there is EAST & WEST

      http://www.impgames.com/EWinfo.html

      5 stars, in my opinion.

      Looks interesting. I was hoping for something a little less encompassing than global scale. I’d like to focus on ground fighting from Norway to Saudi Arabia without getting as big as the GDW Third World War Series. Basically, eliminate most of East Asia and the Pacific, USA, and Africa. That way there are more TTs to fight over in the Germany/Poland/Middle East Areas.

      I would love a good A&A style NATO vs. Warsaw Pact. Does anyone know if this is out there somewhere?

    • RE: Which color(s) of German FMG pieces would you buy?

      @Lozmoid:

      I voted for option 3. Grey is my preference but I really don’t mind either way.

      Voted grey and black for the aforementioned idea of axis minors, etc, etc. Just please make the german grey distinguishable from the ANZAC color!
