      Yep, I read them over and all seem correct to me as well. I too have had the same plus and minus argument over the Holland rules. I also remember being quite stumped on how to change it. I like some of the ideas presented here for sure!

      @toblerone77:

      @HBG, Have you guys ever considered making markers for leaders and generals? Like a token with a picture of Patton or Rommel ETC. I would imagine these would be a fun item to have in your arsenal.

      We have kicked this one around before. I think there may even be some artwork started somewhere. You thinking we need a set? Who would you want to see in it?

      I like this Lend Lease idea too. It gives Germany another option to spend money on potentially helping the balance issues.

      I’d like to hang with all you guys there. It’s rare that something this cool happens on the west coast. I’m lucky to live near DJ and plan to support the cause.

      I realize many of you have personal feelings for or against one another. I’ve had my share of back-and-forths here too. But this would be more about enjoying what a great resource this site is to a game we all love and enjoy. IL, please make the trip up. I know you are super busy with other things but there are many of us who would like to meet and hang with you in person. I would hope we could all put our personal shortcomings aside for a day while we honor what this site means to our A&A community.

    • RE: Eastern Front Broken - $5 German tanks too powerful, income disparity a problem

      @Gargantua:

      So I have another alternate proposal.
      -Give Russia + 1 minor IC in Stalingrad
      -Lose the Russian Berlin NA (As it’s never used).
      -New NA - “For the Motherland!” Russia gets +1 infantry during the place units phase each turn at any industrial complex it holds in the following territories (Moscow, Novisibirks, Karelia, Stalingrad), so long as it has held the territory from the beginning of it’s turn.  This advantage does not count against maximum production.

      This inspires the Axis to go hard and fast for the industrial complex’s, or face that many more infantry a turn.  It’s an incentive for the axis to start early, without breaking the game.

      If that’s not enough, the NO can be reworded so that Russia gets +1 inf per complex it holds.  They may gamble and place extra factories early, as an investment,  but may have to pay the price for it down the road.

      I’m going to weigh in on this with a personal “unofficial” response. I agree there could be some improvements made to the Eastern Front. Whether it’s setup changes, rules changes, or strategy changes (or a combo) I do not know yet.

      First, I agree with Garg that 2 IPC infantry will break the game too far in Russia’s favor. We can’t go there. But, I’m not willing to throw out Germany’s 5 IPC tanks yet.

      I see the above solution as the most sensible to try out. Thanks go out to those guys already trying it. Please let us know what happens!

      I don’t like rules that limit production of common units like tanks, so I’m against that. Special units is one thing, but limiting tank buys beyond income and factory limits goes against the feel of the game IMO.

      Any “official answer” on a game changer like this will have to be tested and discussed by all 4 game designers before anything is written in stone. But I encourage trying the above as Garg suggested, then telling everyone what happened. Let’s start there.

    • RE: Minor Axis Capital Captures

      @Quintus:

      Siam shouldn’t produce income. They make one infantry per turn and thats it.

      For minors, all you have to do is take the capital to take the income.

      Correct.

    • RE: Commandos attack at 3+1? or 2+1?

      @Gargantua:

      Can that same SNLF artillery supported troop also Bonzai?

      This is a double “NO”. First, SNLF are not allowed to Banzai attack. Rules are explicit on this. Also, under the Banzai rules, it is explicit about Banzai infantry NOT being supported by artillery.

    • RE: Commandos attack at 3+1? or 2+1?

      @Star:

      And if you join a commando, a marine or a japanese SNLF with an artillery during amphibious assaults you can attack with 5 or less?!

      Is that right?

      Correct. Remember, in terms of D6 equivalents, it’s still just a 2.5.

    • RE: Can Neutrals be activated by Air transported infantry?

      @Gargantua:

      Can Neutrals be activated by Air transported infantry only?

      And do the bombers have to end in the same zone as the infantry that are unloaded.  Or can they “drop” the infantry and leave?

      Example - Leningrad is captured by Germany, and in the NCM phase of the same turn, 2 german bombers with 2 regular infantry in Paris, fly to spain and activate two of it’s territories for the axis.

      A Pro-Neutral CAN be activated by infantry in this way. The way the rules are written currently, it specifies only land units can activate them. Infantry are land units whether they walk in, fly in, or boat in. The rule simply prevents aircraft alone from activating.

      Bombers DO NOT have to end in the same zone as the unloaded unit, but MUST begin the turn in the same zone as the unit and start from an AIRBASE. They would indeed “drop and leave” using normal NCM movement rules. Also, the bomber can not have participated in any other activity that turn per the Bomber Rules.

      OFFICIAL ANSWER:

      Commandoes are Attack: 3 all the time; 4 during amphib assault or air drop.
