Hi guys so I got the sarnia war room you tube updated with our first game we played yesterday. Camera work is mediocre and we all made mistakes. Please let me know what you guys think was done well and not well for the first ever full game. Thanks in advance.

RE: NEWBIE - What AA to choose?posted in Player Help
I went strait for global and have not looked back. I am in the proses of building a group of guys up to play once a month all day event as I feel the game needs this amazing of time to be played well and all the way through. By far the best version in my opinion once you get through the rules and there is always something else to learn. Best game to just run full tilt into the game that we all love. And the map and set up is eye opening the first time you see it all set up.

RE: London or Moscow after J1?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
As you know I am new but I will take a stab at it. I would try to have Japan pester the U.S. As much as posie to make it hard for them to spend anything in Europe, then on G2-G3 I would go for London quick and fast as the Russians will still be dragging their feet. That is if the Russians are not automatically brought in by a J1 attack on the U.S.??
I am sure I am missing something but even if the Russians are brought in first turn I would still try for London asap and then deal with Moscow. If the U.S. Are in Europe fast then I would change and go hard for Moscow. For me it would just depend on what the U.S. Do.
Hope that helped a bit?

RE: New group in sarnia,Ontario,Canadaposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Thanks I will have to learn how to add links to make it easy to find. Won’t be much on the channel till I get a video from our first game. So I got some time to figure this stuff out. A bit harder since I do it all from my phone.

New group in sarnia,Ontario,Canadaposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hey guys just a quick note on a new group I am starting up in sarnia. It now has a name, the sarnia war room, it can be found on facebooke and YouTube. First video is up on YouTube just to put a face to my name and let everyone know what I have in store for the future. Things like a how to make a table video series once I start and recaps of our games round by round. Any support in getting the word out would be helpfull, also any advice on the Facebook page or videos to be made would also be greeted with enthusiasm.
A real quick shout out to young grasshopper for the advice so far look forward to more chats in the future.
Thanks again guys for any help in advance.

RE: Research & Developmentposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Sounds good. I think I may do some digging to see how well each nation was doing in the r&d department and when they hit their breakthrough. Then figure a rough timeline to round turn ratio to give bonuses to nations who actually did develop the tech. Have a more targeted approach to the mater to take some of the luck/randomness out of the equation. But it would be nice to find a viable way related to historic events in relation to the games time frame. This may take a while but if and when I get it done I will post a thread. Going to get my a&a group up and running first off. Lol
Big plans right? Time will be needed to ensure the balance though.

RE: Research & Developmentposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I like the idea of targeted r&d with different values depending on that country and how far along they were in the war the catch is to make it expensive enough not to let people just run a muck with it but cheep enough to make it an option. Also the amount for each dice should depend on what you are going after as to balance it a bit like extending the flight of all planes needs to cost a bit more for dice as it could seriously reck the balance of a nation and how it is played.

RE: Question on aircraft carrier?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Thank you guys. I thought it was legal the only thing that was tripping me up was the whole we don’t own the sea zone before the turn but you can’t own a sea zone so it is fine to land on a carrier that has taken a sea zone. Or that is my understanding. Thanks again for the info. It was one thing I was not sure on.

Question on aircraft carrier?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
So my question is this. If I am Japan or any nation but using Japan for this. If I attack the Philippines and for my ground assault I bring the two planes from the Carolina islands off the carrier there and move the carrier with my naval fleet. Can the planes land back on the carrier in the sea zone the Philippines is in? Providing I win the sea battle and the carrier is not damaged?

Hey guys new to the site. Looking to put a game together for the 23rd of August. We are all new to the game but I have been researching and doing some playing with friends. It will be our first full game though. If interested let me know and we can meet for a drink or something to feel each other out as games are played at my house? Thanks for reading.
