I always kinda liked the idea of having more territories in the original. Like, maybe making Belgium-Netherlands, Paris, and Vichy France all seperate territories. Also, splitting up Italy into Sicily, Northern, and southern Italy. Splitting up the three Japanese islands and seperating Finland from Norway. Just some ideas that I’ll probably never try but it would pretty fun to see them put into action :D.

I see your point. However, do the infantry still cost three and are you only allowed one infantry in a territory per turn? I guess the commonwealth’s just don’t interest me that much if that’s it, unless it’s India with an I.C., then I can see where you’re coming from .

I like the commonwealth troops, but on this one I went with the flying boats. I like how it will probably help to keep the British navy alive longer.

I don’t think you can really compare them since every man and woman in the service is risking his or her life for our country. However, if I did have to pick one I’d have to say the navy just cause I like ships.

RE: Favorite Countryposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I love to play as the United Kingdom. They can be a huge influence on the game and they can pretty much attack anywhere on the board if they wanted to :D.

Yeah it is a little confusing. The Revised forum is right below this one.

Never thought about it really. Alaska is probably better, but I was just wanting to see which island people like taking better.

I don’t mean to be a pain, but if we’re talking about Axis and Allies here then fighters would cost 12 and the Japanese fleet would be considerably smaller. However, I agree with everything you said.

I agree, but taking these islands can’t hurt and they don’t really hurt your offensive on the Asian mainland, you can still pull it off.

RE: Taking Karelia 1st turnposted in Axis & Allies Classic
My friends and I have always played with the house rule that as soon as you purchase units you can place them on the board immediately and can use them the same turn. You guys probably think that’s stupid, but we all like it, gives the Axis a better chance I think. Germany can buy 6 tanks G1 and then go right after Karelia. However, don’t think the Russians are out of it cause the Allies can still provide the support that Russia needs. I’ve recently discovered an American strategy that by building an industrial complex in Sinkiang the Americans can pump tanks into Moscow every turn. This is devastating to the German player and eventually the Americans and Russians can storm into Berlin, with Britain trailing not to far behind :D.

RE: Taking Midway Over Hawaiiposted in Axis & Allies Classic
You guys are probably right. Even if Japan did want to go after the United States, taking Hawaii would be the better option to keep the US Navy from countering Midway. So, (1) Go after Hawaii, (2) don’t go after the United States :D.

Taking Midway Over Hawaiiposted in Axis & Allies Classic
If you are a very risky Japanese player and your goal is to go on an offensive against Western U.S.A., wouldn’t you agree that it’s better to take and hold Midway Island on J1 or J2 than Hawaii. If the American player keeps up with the shuck-shuck he might move his Pacific fleet out of Hawaii, thus giving you free control of the Pacifc. Do you guys agree that the Japanese should go after Midway instead, or maybe you just don’t agree with an offensive against the United States, I know I usually don’t.

RE: Soviet Union National Advantagesposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I like the latter one Mr. Giving the Russians 2 I.P.C. infantry, though realistic, would probably unbalance the game hurting the Axis war effort; which is probably already in poor shape anyway. The five infantry plus one free would probably work out great though :D.

I like the United Kingdom because they can break out from the beaches fairly intact every time. However, my vote goes for the Germans this time, got to love that reinforcement chart.

RE: Revised Editionposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Ry, it just depends on how fast they players you are with play. I’d say a close and well thought out game could last anywhere from 3-5 hours. If you’re playing fast, maybe 2. Hope this helps.

I like the tank destroyers; tanks defending at a four, that’s brutal.

Original vs. Revisedposted in Axis & Allies Classic
Is the new revised edition stealing the spotlight from the original Axis and Allies? Which do you think is better, Axis and Allies or Axis and Allies Revised. In my opinion, you always got to stick with the original. You just can’t beat it :D

I like the Allies cause they are easier to win with. However, the Axis are always fun if you’re looking for a challenge :D.
