      @pug6000:

      @Veqryn:

      i’m sorta wondering if it would have been better for france to go to madrid first, rather than go straight for the camp

      by going through madrid, the coalition has nowhere to run

      One more turn to build fortresses. France has no comfortable superiority in Spain. 3 more fortresses (in that case a total of 6 fortresses, so double the losses) cost about 10 more losses (so 20 more losses in case he had taken the way close to Madrid). I just didnt build fortresses, because I had the chance to move on and cause more trouble.

      Veqryn, Pug is right. Once the encampment was built, in order to minimize my losses taking it, I had to move on in quickly to prevent defensive units being built there. I accepted the fact that I would have to chase him down if he abandoned it.

      Sweden will never be that big again.

      At first I thought: wonderful move for Prussia and Russia from Sweden. Many troops withdrawn from home defence. But the idea looks good on a closer look. you can at least rescue the Swedish navy and can defend the convoy income zone.

      Pug

      Yes, it helps the French a little, as well. It makes it a little harder for England to split their fleet with the Swedish fleet in the Channel.

      Sweden seems the type of country that has the sole purpose of tying up enemy resources to help it’s allies instead of being offensive for it’s own sake.

      Yeah, he is deluded in that respect. There is no shame in that man. He’s like a fly you can’t swat. You’d think I would try to play as fast as I could to quickly escape his relentless blathering.

      So what happens when my opponents intentionally decide to post every 72 hour period?

      Id say u505 doesn’t negotiate with terrorists cow.  ball is in your court to accept his terms, which to tell the truth sound pretty reasonable.

      I like this. Terrorists indeed.  :-D

      @Cow:

      If it were a cash game poker table sure I’d wait all day, but this is a board game.

      Reminds me of the magic card tournaments, every match had one guy who would play soooo slow for their 50 minute matches. That is the strategy though, win the first game and stall the second out.

      In axis and allies it could keep the game from going to the later rounds. Generally speaking when I am axis I try to win the game before round 10 by vc count in europe or pacific. So of course I want to progress the game. It is not like there is a secret behind my strategy, it is pretty direct.

      Sometimes if the allies are really defensive you settle for an income game. But like usually Russia drops on real fast or japan blows up the pacific. Allies stop both of them they win generally… but if the axis don’t even get to that round… then what is the point of playing?

      The truth is that it all depends on the situation. But, typically the game is for the Axis to expand quickly and for the Allies to turn them back in the later rounds so it it becomes more advantageous for the Axis to slow play after their initial early expansion and not the other way around. Your logic is flawed.

      And my slow play had nothing to do with any strategy you seem to have invented in your mind. I deduced from your incessant barrage of posts that you were an impatient person and I did it to to raise your ire simply because I don’t like you. Think what you want, though. Ignorance is bliss.

      The unfortunate reality is that the cost of doing business requires me to affect 2 other players just to get to the one I want and that isn’t how I roll. It goes against my policy of not messing with anyone who doesn’t mess with me. I won’t slow play anymore even if Cow returns to his ways.

      You’re full of shit. If you go back and look, I posted the same day that each of my turns came up and yet you still can’t shut up.

      Furthermore, your partner took over a day to post Italy, but there was nary a peep out of you for him to move faster. 6 hours after my turns start and you’re already opening your mouth.

      @Cow:

      Yeah I am accusing you of stalling. So what do you do? Use it as an excuse to stall more. You are intentionally stalling.

      You are intentionally abusing the system. You obviously don’t want to play. I don’t know why you are wasting my time.

      I’m wasting your time because you’re an annoying troll and I find it emotionally rewarding to fuck with you. I warned you. See you in 48 hours. And when I tell you to suck it, I mean that in the nicest possible way.

      @Veqryn:

      i have not said anything yet

      but i will say 1 single thing

      whoever plays Anzac, should also play France

      any other way does not make much sense

      We divided our game into theaters. I took the Atlantic and my partner took the Pacific minus UKP. It’s not any slower than if we had split them any other way since we would still have to coordinate before we made our moves, anyway. The Axis can be divided so that coordination can be almost eliminated while the Allies can’t. They will always be slower because of that. Your partner clearly has trouble understanding that concept.

      For the record, I deferred France to my partner last game. And I will again once Sea Lion is no longer a threat. After that, I’ll PM him with any important instructions to move the game along. But, if your partner insists on trolling us every turn, then I’m going to do everything I can to piss him off.

    • RE: Wheatbeer (axis) vs U-505 (allies) G40a3 low luck

      I’m not going to waste our time. This one is done. If I were further along against Japan or prepared to attack Egypt this turn I’d stick it out, but Germany is going to earn too much from now on.

      I figured that by forcing Germany to spend most of it’s early money on navy and air it would help Russia for a long time and it did, but I had to sacrifice too many units up front to make it happen. I never really liked trying to get the UK Med fleet into the Atlantic, I just did it to see if it could be done effectively. I was pretty sure that low luck would favor the G1 opening and I believe it more, now.

      And placing the bid sub in sz91 is definitely more effective than in sz98. The sz98 sub only works if Germany doesn’t build any first turn air or navy that could be used in Sea Lion. That way the UK can spare the extra aircraft that normally go to the UK defense to attack the Italian BB without using the CV as fodder. But, Germany never builds only ground units on G1 so it’s not feasible.
