    • RE: šŸ‘‹ Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)

      Hello all!

I am in my 30s and live in the US. I first got Axis & Allies Classic 2nd Ed. as a gift when I was a teenager, but I couldn’t usually find people to play with and mostly played against myself until I moved on to other games. By chance, I recently stumbled upon @The_Good_Captain ā€˜s YouTube videos on Don Rae’s essays and general Classic openings. They inspired me to think more about the game and eventually to find my way here.

I enjoy thinking about unconventional strategies for both sides and am hoping to find other novices to try them out against! I look forward to many losses in the future as I have never had the pleasure of playing someone significantly better than myself in this game. I am also intrigued by the large number of new Axis&Allies versions, which seem to be far more popular than Classic and hopefully have a more robust, established metagame.

Nice to meet you! I am not a very ā€œonlineā€ person, so this is all a bit new to me.

@simon33 Thanks for your reply! Apologies, I downloaded the triplea-2.7.15570 folder from GitHub, but I’m not sure how to actually install the application. The installer I used for the 2.5 version seems to only work for that version alone. I’d appreciate any assistance you (or someone else) could offer, thank you!

Looking for a Classic game, I’m new to the forum and this is my first one! TripleA engine version is 2.5.22294.

I’m a little confused about TripleA version. I see others have 2.7, but per the release notes, 2.7 and 2.6 appear to be unreleased. If you have 2.7, how did you get it? I’m on a Mac if that matters.
