since most go for a KGF strat it seems that a IC in Aust. would be nothing more than a waste of IPCs. If you have found a way to go for Japan first, I would say you have to have one in Aust.

Thats why I amost always go overboard with trannies with Japan. The one off Kwang dosen’t make a whole lot of diffrerence to me because I usually buy a J1 IC. If it gets sunk I deal. I like it when the allies mess with my strats. It adds variety and keeps the game interesting. I wouldn’t like to play with people who do the same thing every time.

I would rather have US using it’s resources to try and take down Japan. With US doing that russa will likely fall. Japan can give up Islands because they replace the IPC’s with territories on the asia mainland, and when the time is right counter strike US from the west while Germany hits from the East.

You have to take it. Unless you only attacked with fighters and bombers.

RE: How many Players is the perfect number for Axis and Allies?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I, of course was assuming that all the people playing are on the same level. What I hate is when you have 3 allied players but one guy tells everybody what to do. I understand that table talk is allowed. It has to be for this game to work, but each player should be able to make their own decisions. I guess that’s why if I’m going to get down and serious about a game of AA I go for two players. If I’m going for a good time, well 4 or 5 works for me.

I try to figure out if they are into strat games to begin with. If they are (esp. if they like risk) then we Jump right in. Some people (my wife), I don’t even try with. She has watched me play a couple of times but loses intrest quick. For her its just moving little green army men around a board and rolling dice for 5 or 6 hours. She dosen’t want to learn and I don’t try to teach her.

spliting russa seems like a way to cause a fight or force the allies to loose. Anything with two heads is a freak. If I am playing with 4 players, we just draw for countries and one allied player gets two unless all allies are drawn. Then whoever gets the axis power plays the other.

RE: What about a KBF strategyposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Not only that, but Japan has no way of helping Germany out in that effort. Realy the only way that Japan and germany can work togther to compleate a common goal is to go after the weak and close russa.

Well I have allways thought of AA as a grand scale game so the indiviual battles aren’t as appealing to me. But then I have never played any of them either.

Good Point. The US off the solimans is a dangrous thing. I’ll have to give it some thought.

RE: Forget Historyposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I disagree. The US fleet in the Pacfic is nothing compared to the Japaneese fleet. Esp if Japan is on Defense. I say Ignore the US and make them come to you.

Forget Historyposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I don’t care what really happened, in Axis and Allies Japan should never start anything with the US. (unless they are all thats left)
Anyone Disagree?

RE: SZ4 border Russia?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
ncsc, normally thats how I play, but this one time I wanted to try something new, ya know, just to see what happened? It was looking like the Axis might win even without Germany, but alas it crumbled and rather quickly too. Seeing two, count them two, ruskie Battleships in the pacific broke my heart… :-(

Yeah, I did surrender at that point. I did have a german tank and a trasport stranded in Africa so Gemany took Brazil. Frankly my mistake that game was going after US with Japan. He left WUS open and I went for it. Unfortunatly it let Russa Kick germanys butt.

History, my friends, is nothing more than the pack of lies we all agree on. I think Napoleon said that but not quite in those words. He spoke french you know.

I’ve allways allowed planes to be shot down in shore bombardment. I don’t see why they wouldn’t…

RE: SZ4 border Russia?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
No it doesn’t (SZ4 that is). Â I have seen russia buy naval units but that was after gemany fell, and US needed help in the pacific. Â Russia built them off the coast of china so as you can tell Japan was about to fall as well. Â It happened just last night I tell ya!
