    • RE: Long time player first time visitor

      I went to my local Comic Book shops and Gaming Stores and watched for postings by fellow players interested in getting together to play. I found a group that meets regurally (1-2 times a month). It wouldnt hurt to post a few ads yourself looking for players. Best to meet at a public place like a Library. Libraries usually have meeting rooms that you can reserve to play. Our group meets at the Daniel Boone Library in Columbia, MO

      Most new groups getting together usually play the new revised version of Axis & Allies…. but I’m sure a few will still be willing to play the older versions too.

    • RE: Your best games as Germany?

      I think we’ve all had a few intro games like the one described more or less against inexperienced players… but the reality is… Germany just “hangs on to the rim” waiting for Japan to bail them out… at least 9.5 out of 10 times against moderate to experienced players.

      Germany with a little push can have some fun in Africa but the Russian front is just a battle of attrition.

      I only find enjoyment crushing Russia in a round or 2 with Germany if the Allied player is arrogant and overconfident… usually such a player has only played his younger brother or neighbor and believes himself to have the “invincible” strategy… they tend to be poor losers as well… which makes it a bit sweeter imo.

      On a side note if you wish to discuss older AA games before the new revised edition… best to talk about it on the older edition forum listed here:

    • RE: Question-Allied Transports

      @Sankt:

      @jsp4563:

      It’s a definite “no” then, and you can use the same exerpts given by ToySoldier above - only he probably misunderstood your question.

      Yes… I understand what he’s asking now. Takes 2 turns to “bridge” allied units. The transport could be moved in Combat or NCM but not used to move the country’s units that owned the transport.

    • RE: Question-Allied Transports

      Yes. Quoting the Axis & Allies Revised Operations Manual:

      Pg30:
      “Carry Land Units: A transport may carry land units belonging to you or friendly powers.”

      Pg31:
      Land units belonging to friendly powers must load on their controller’s turn, be carried on your turn, and offload on a later turn of their controller.

    • RE: I wanna be rated!!!

      @Jennifer:

      If you go to DAAK and hit the british flag it’ll change to English.  From there you have to create an account and then click on start a game.
      The only rules that are “house” rules would be that we use LHTR which you can download from DAAK or AAMC and review if you want.Â

      Ok once I get my 3rd game in the mail I’ll play ya. I consolidated 2 games into one for enough playing pieces. Our private little tournament is currently using that board for the near future. Annoying having to always convert figure pieces into chips… especially now that I have my “super sized” board to play on. Give me a week or so.

      @trihero:

      I’ve followed a few of your posts here Jen… I think your setting me up in a trap…

      She has her wiles, eh? If by following “a few of your posts” you mean “sexy avatar” then  :wink:

      Yea that did sound like a creepy stalking type of post <lol>. Actually I surf about reading various posts from users without posting myself. It will be a few months before I become comfortable forming opinions on strat. Her Avatar is interesting. I like the portrait of myself in my avatar… this is like me when I go to Walmart and stuff</lol>

      I’ve followed a few of your posts here Jen… I think your setting me up in a trap… but I’ll take the bait. I went to DAAK but it’s a little confusing… what is the first step? I’m new to this “revised” game… are there house rules on this board?

      Maybe I’m just being a little lazy and not looking into it deep enough.

      I miss the ol’ go to Zone.com… play the PC game and post your win on Spring1942.com

      I’d be just happy with Email or playing over the internet like Zone.com had set up with the old game.
