      Cool.  I think what you guys are doing is great.  Its always a breath of fresh air to see these strats come to life whether they succeed or not.

    • RE: J1–>Alaska; J3 Game Over.

      I have been looking at this over the past week and it does look intriguing, but I also believe proper US play should diffuse it.  I am curious on some of the opening Jap and US moves however.  One simple thing I saw at first (Although not a game breaker by any means)  was that when he moved his CV’s into defensive positions at Hawaii and seazone 1 he left the Tac’s on board.  I would have non-commed a fighter on all my CV’s for added defensive power.  Also why bring the loaded tranny from TRUK to Hawaii, was that just to entice a response in the area more so then seazone 1.  Otherwise I personally would have sent it to sz 6 turn one with the 3 purchased trannies.  Lastly, I thought the strat involved a turn 2 minor IC purchase on Jap 2 for Alaska?  Just inquiring, I may have read some of the posted moves wrong, so correct me if I interpreted it incorrectly.

      @Viracocha:

      Don’t care if they were inaccurate - I want rocket launchers on studebakers on my A&A board. eh eh eh I’d paint 'em too, a rusty car with some Soviet graffiti, and a sloppy star. Fantastic.

      I second that whole heartedly.  I feel a request coming on headed towards FMG.

    • RE: Scramble Question

      They only way you would be able to avoid the scramble is to send a sub since the planes cannot target without a destroyer.

      @i:

      why inaccurate??

      I think what he means by innaccurate, is that the katyusha rockets were not the most accurate form of artillery as opposed to other means of artillery the russians used.  They were more of a fear weapon, but they dead unleash a very powerful volley of firepower in a short amount of time.  The Soviets tried to keep it a secret early on in the war.  The Germans nicknamed them “Stalin’s organs.”

      Lol, I know.  I remember when IL was complaining about the P-38 lightning and why they would choose that as a fighter and they replied with something like, " we wanted to represent the units more on what was more memorable and striking as opposed to what was more prevelant."  I don’t think anything is more striking then a rack of rocket launchers on a studebaker!

      If there is anything the Russians should get distinctive its artillery.  Russians were very skilled artillerymen and took great pride in the use of artillery.  In lend-lease, they hardly ever, if at all, requested howitzers or any type of artillery from the Anglo nations throughout the war because artillery is one of the items they produce themselves in very large amounts.  How cool would it be to have katyusha rocket artillery on the back of a studebaker for an artillery piece!
          The only time the USSR requested artillery units from lend-lease was late in the war.  They only requested 4 units. Obviously it was for inspection purposes to examine the western powers’ artillery capabilities.

      What is the email address for wizards? I have tried to use the one listed on their site, which appears to me to be just a webpage and not an actual email address (Email
      http://www.wizards.com/customerservice) and it doesn’t register?

      @ABWorsham:

      Should be a good game tomorrow. I’m glad Farve is not in this game. I’ve had enough Farve Worship for one year. I think Joe Buck, from Fox, bows to a statue of Farve.

      I second that AB.  I am fed up with Favre.  The world does not revolve around Brett Favre and Tiger Woods.  When Tiger had his scandal and the Vikes were making a run at the playoffs, SportsCenter pretty much devoted the hour to just those 2 subjects.

    • RE: Operation Sealion a Possibility with AA1940 Europe?

      10 IPC US build, 10 fighters in one round!  Thats awesome.  Not to say that would be a sound buy depending on what the situation is, but something to think about if japan even attempts to point the bows of her ships towards the US coast.

    • RE: North Africa Axis Question

      I voted for another Luftflotte.  In most of the readings I have done on the North African campaign, most German commanders stated the biggest thorn in their sides during the campaign was losing air superiority.

      We don’t SBR hardly at all anymore, and its pointless to SBR NB and AB’s since the max is only 6.  I SBR India however if I am knocking on the door and have escorts, its a good primer to take India the following turn.

    • RE: 70TH ANNIVERSARY DISCUSSION (5) SUOMUSSALMI 1940

      Whatever the real stats are between the Finns and Soviets, it takes nothing away from the impressive victory between two Finnish divisions (11,000) and elements of the Soviet 9th army (45,000).

    • RE: 70TH ANNIVERSARY DISCUSSION (5) SUOMUSSALMI 1940

      The Wikipedia statistics claim that the soviet casualties were over 13,000 to over 25,000 dead and wounded, but these statistcs were often innacurate back then between Finnish statistics and Soviet ones.  The statistics I gave above are from Chris Bellamy of Vinogradov’s division the 44th.  The Wikipedia stats seemed to be a bit inflated according to some Eastern front and Soviet historians.
