Additional components including game dice, tokens, paper bills, and plastic chips
It surprises me that we still get paper bills. I just assumed this was gone forever. :-)

Wow this is big news! Looking forward to get more info about this new game.
So far I like the new styl map and the fact that it’s all about simultanious movements and hidden information. Might be a very intense game!
BTW did anyone notice the distinct differences between the two images on nightingale’s website? The top image shows square and oval shaped counters were as the second image shows mainly round tokens and a hexagon one (apart from the square country trackers in the middle) Definitely two different prototypes.

Not sure we want to prevent it… playability and the terrain must work together in all aspects of the game if this table is going to be more than just eye candy.
Tjoek may have been referring to potential mechanical issues. The video by Fenris, for example, shows patches of 3-D terrain that look like fuzzy grass (the kind used for model railway landscapes), and my reaction on seeing them was to wonder whether these surfaces would be too uneven to allow A&A infantry sculpt pieces (which are tall and have a narrow base) to stand up securely. Also, given that the Global 1940 map can get awfully crowded with plastic sculpts even when it’s nice and flat, would the crowding issues be magnified when the map is uneven three-dimensionally, and (if you were planning to include them, as Fenris does on his map) when the landscape includes decorative elements like plastic cows (if I’m interpreting the video correctly)?
Thanks Marc for carifying what I tried to say. Sound good how YG and DCC have thought about it before this project. Looking forward to see the end result and bit of progress that’s worthy of showing.
Cool project YG and DCC! How are you planning to prevent the 3D terrain from impacting playability?
Nice post! I have the exact same plan and already ordered the 3mm magnets a few weeks ago. Good to see it works, and thanks for the tips on the glue and the slot in the piece of wood to prevent unwanted damage to the planes.
Really well done! Looking forward to see the end results

Oh no man…nothing like getting paid with a big fat 50 and a 20 when you are doing good!
We played with HBG cash for years and never used the 50s… but that’s just us.
Same here, but we do run out of 10’s regularly. So I bought a two packs of bucks just for the extra 10’s.
No clue what to do with the insane amount of 1’s though :-D
Well done AlphaKappa, your changes are exactly the ones I’m currently working on. But progress has been slow over the last weeks.
Could you share the full res version of the map as well? That would be awsome!
:-D I’m glad it wasn’t just me. Looking great. I’ve been playing Global with HBG battle bucks and love the 20’s. There is no need for 50’s in my opinion. They are not practical when figgering out your buy. I like to place units on top of their costs (our small groups of units on their total costs) so I see what I’ve already spend.

I forget where the original link is lol, too funny… been more active on youtube these days, musta put it there… now I have to find it here…
20’s are now available. :)
Cool! Might be just me overlooking something, but could you please (re)share where I can download the file?
Yes!! Finally managed to finish the European Theater of the map. Just for you all to get a feeling of how big this rework is to fix all the dust particles, scratches, fold creases and scan line - I’ve added a picture that shows all the changes to the original map.

The results are very satisfying and I cannot wait to finish the Pacific theather and get this clean map printed.
This sounds really great YG!
I just finished the European side of my attempt to fixup the files from Ambilzi and you. Sounds like most of my work can be thrown down the drain now as it sounds like Intrepid fixed most if not all of my issues with the original map.
Will check the new map later today to see if I can save myself the hard work of editing the pacific side of the map. Although it feels a bit like a loss of time at the moment  :-)
Hi Tjoek, from what I saw you were doing excellent work, don’t throw away anything you’ve done! This new version of the map is still far from perfect, I didn’t have time to remove every single scratch, dust mark, etc off the board. I did do some work in the Pacific for sure, spent some time fixing some water glitches, and a bunch of blurred/shifted territory lines. Please copy whatever you can off this map to save yourself time!
Yeah I noticed that your great work did not included all the small scratches I’m removing. So I can continue my quest to get the cleanest map ;-) Overall really nice to see the community around this great game come alive.

Where do you get your water slide roundels that you use on the trucks and planes?
Barbedor is the font.
Thnx siredblood!!! Barbedor Heavy definitely is the font used on the OOB maps.
Thnx IL!
This looks like the 1942 board judging from the border of the territories. Although the sea has been painted differently and the map shows anniversary.
Unfortunately the resolution is a bit small for a nice large print.
@Imperious:
Your right about the font, i now remember that the Franklin font looked better so i went with that.
That’s not a problem. Do you happen to know what the original font was called?
A quick update. Africa and the Middle East have been fixed. Especially the neutrals in the Middle East proved to be challenging. Now rolling into the USSR.
@Imperious:
Franklin Gothic Heavy is the font for Axis and Allies
Unfortuntaly the fonts used on the 1940 maps for either country names or seazone numbers aren’t close to Franklin Gothic Heavy.
