@panther okay thanks haha, this just came up as a suggested forum, I didn’t think to look for a new one

RE: Global 2nd edition Q+A ( AAG40.2)posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@surfer ohhhhhhh thanks, I read it allowed and know I see what I always missed. I kept searching the rulebook and could never find it, but now I got it

This hasn’t been used in a while but I heard this rule in a different forum and wanted corrections.
If you do an amphibious assault and there’s no defending ships they can still scramble apparently? If so, are the transports autokill if you don’t bring any warships and if your warships get destroyed by fighters the transports just retreat right?

RE: Find League Opponents Threadposted in League
@flyingbadger I’d be up for it! I haven’t played the BM mod either
I also haven’t played a league game so I’m not sure on all the details but I do have experience on TripleA

RE: National Objective Chartsposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@cloudesley
I was just looking for some NO charts and these are perfect! But why are all of the years 1942 except for ANZAC which says 1940? -

@colt45554
That’s a good point, I’ll try that out -

@barnee
Ooh that’s a good ideaI just thought that the Axis would be harder due to the insane number of troops and possibilities right away while the Allies are more reactionary. But I can see it going both ways

@colt45554
Oh wow you think? It took me quite a while to figure out how to play the Axis and once I did I had to start using a bid -
RE: Urgent and quick question about bids for a new playerposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Thanks for both of the suggestions! I’ll ask him before we play (but after I explain the rules) what we should do. He did also say that he wants to go pretty hard on him but I’ll have to still hold back some 😉. I really like both ideas you guys suggested.

Urgent and quick question about bids for a new playerposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
I’m teaching a buddy of mine Global 40 tomorrow and he’s never played A&A before. I gave him the Allies since the Axis is really confusing for your first game. What should I give him as a bid? He’s a smart dude but as I said before he’s never played but might be able to learn fast. I should also mention that I’m planning on telling him a couple strategies such as Taranto, Russian withdrawal/counterattacking, and the importance of defending London.

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)posted in Welcome
@kiwi I too started off on Classic ( but in 2020:) lol) and then I jumped to Global 1940. I loved it because I always wanted more naval build options than Classic offered, and then I fell in love with the addition of more ground troops, tactical bombers, political rules, and national objectives. It is a big jump, but very manageable. Plus it’s arguably the most popular version right now, close to anniversary.

@surfer so if there’s no naval battle what are the fighters doing? They don’t get to attack the destroyer do they?

RE: Italy and Anzac Strategies?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@anzacguy I’m not super experienced but with Italy I try to control the Med first, and then work on the other NOs. Italy is a common first target for the US, so they need to get their income as high as possible before they come. The only Europe territories that I let Italy capture is Greece and Gibraltar. After the Med is secure I go for Gibraltar and Egypt, followed by North Africa and then the Middle East. If they get good die rolls early their income can be near 30 by turn 5. But don’t expand too fast because you don’t want to leave Italy unprotected.
Anzac has already been covered in this forum and I completely agree with that, also GHG had a great video on ANZAC strategies.

@brian-cannon well this always seems to happen to me too-burn it’s when I play in person lol
And I’m the one getting hit by the AA guns

Wait I’m confused, can’t fighters only scramble if there’s a naval battle? I didn’t think they could initiate it

RE: Buying a Destroyer for the Soviet Baltic Fleetposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
So yes, a Destroyer won’t do much more than often but in a few scenarios it could prove to be worthwhile

RE: Buying a Destroyer for the Soviet Baltic Fleetposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@surfer that’s fair, but as I said before it all depends on the situation, a Baltic fleet could make a huge difference, particularly in operation sea lion
