@martin Yes I’m very sorry, my schedule has just gotten very busy and whenever I have free time I try to play-but as you can see that isn’t much time

RE: Ottoman Empire in G40/Europeposted in House Rules
@all-encompassing-goose I had a similar thought process, with this addition the Axis seem far too strong and the Allies don’t get much in return. I think the UK needs a fairly big jump in IPCs and a complex in Egypt or the Middle East from the beginning to get it close to balanced

RE: New Renegade Games - Pick the Battle poll, which title would you like to see reprinted?posted in News
I voted for bulge to, although I’d love to see them all reprinted :)
I also said hit dice as that would be amazing to have and unit sorters built into the boxes. I miss the classic unit boxes with spots for every piece instead of one box with them all mixed in.

Taking Russiaposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Hey all, I’ve played a few games and i haven’t figured out how to take over Russia as Germany-yet I’ve heard it’s easy. I try to take all of the infantry tanks and artillery in Eastern Europe and march to Moscow. But there’s so many Russians that by the time I get my army and air force there I can’t take it. Then I find that Western Europe is left very vulnerable, any suggestions?

Axis and Allies each take turns all together [G40]posted in House Rules
This has been brought up before, but I thought more about it tonight and it really seems like a good idea to me. Basically all of the Axis powers take their turns together and then the Allies do the same. On the Pacific side, it wouldn’t change much, if it did it would only balance the game more. On Europe I’m not entirely sure how this would play out, but I have a feeling it could work pretty well. My concerns would be the Taranto raid not happening because Italy would go before UK, so I’m not sure how to balance it. Also, the UK and US would be able to make super strong landing in mainland Europe. I’m not entirely sure how to balance this either, possibly by adding some sort of Atlantic wall feature. Overall I think this would be great to increase game speed if it could be worked out.

@oysteilo
I’ll have to try using this, I’ve seen the common purchase of a carrier and either 2 transports or a sub and destroyer but I haven’t tried that when I’m not doing sea lion -

@martin Unfortunately I believe it has come to that time of the game where I must forfeit, there doesn’t seem to be any possible way that I can turn the tides

RE: Axis and Allies each take turns all together [G40]posted in House Rules
@Eric-Poppleton well I tried it by myself some and it sorta worked. My goal was to get my buddies into the game and try it with them but we’re still in the learning phase-figured it’s only a valid test if they have developed strategies in the normal game

RE: Buying a Destroyer for the Soviet Baltic Fleetposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@nolimit I sorta agree with this, but at the same time one destroyer can make a way bigger difference than 2 artillery. Situations are situational as is the case with all the allied strategies.

RE: Underpowered Axis?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
@black I too thought the same thing when I only played Europe. A couple of factors majorly contributed to it, as the Axis I always took too long to take advance and I didn’t really have a grand strategy. As you play more I’m sure you’ll see how strong the Axis is. I’d suggest watching strategy videos such as Operation Barbarossa

RE: Turtling vs Counter-attacking as Soviet Union?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
@andrewaagamer I definitely agree, I was horrible at playing the Axis but it just took a few games and some new strays to see the unbalance. And I too don’t like nerfing strat bombers because it seems to unbalance it more.

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)posted in Welcome
@kiwi I too started off on Classic ( but in 2020:) lol) and then I jumped to Global 1940. I loved it because I always wanted more naval build options than Classic offered, and then I fell in love with the addition of more ground troops, tactical bombers, political rules, and national objectives. It is a big jump, but very manageable. Plus it’s arguably the most popular version right now, close to anniversary.

@randomcat yeah I really like them, I currently use them and to make them I just printed them on paper and used packing tape to “laminate” it on a thin piece of cardboard
