    • RE: Color for Japan

      In my global rules the Japanese have alot of their infantry and fighter as veteran at the beginning of the game. I used this to represent japans experience in warfare with almost 6 years at war with china before 1939. Veterans attack at a 4 or less and defend on a 5. I used the red Japanese from the pacific game until I traded mine for a brand new never been opened one, so I use the yellow now. As for the snlf, they were not elite as one might think, but japan had units that would assault an island and the perform garrison duties….these were the hard core burn them out I’m committing suicide before I and a POW guys!!!  Let’s face it, japan could use the help!!!

      IMG_1103.JPG. This is what I use for my variant…burnt orange as my regular troops, blue for my snlf, and yellow for my veteran troops.

      @Pvt.Ryan:

      Can’t you make the map and rules downloadable Tiger? Actually i already got this loaded of my PC.

      I’m sure if you try to blow up that file to print it onto a map it will be very fuzzy and degraded. I am trying to provide everyone with nice maps and game systems for a variety of war gaming. The reason I’m selling the map and setups with rules is because of the time spent preparing and researching. The map alone has taken almost 60 hours to make. Believe me, the games will be resonable and will use new pieces from FMG and Coachofmany.

      D12 system is better if you are going to have a wide variety of units. I used dice from the Battle of the Bulge game and also get red and white dice from historicalboardgaming.com. I’m hosting a Global 1939 game this weekend and I’m trying out 2 new units, a torpedo bomber for US and Japan and a Naval fighter for both. I’m also using a tech system that I found on the House Rukes board that i have tweaked and gonna play test. I’ll have pictures and hopefully a good play by play of each round.

      The future of Axis and Allies style games, with all the new and different pieces comming out, will have to go to a D12 combat system. It only makes since.

      @cminke:

      i need some clarafacation….

      e. Fortification add (2) die 12 and defend at 5 or less

      …what exactly does this mean?

      ill be playing a 1939 game this weekend so any additional comments are helpful.

      sorry for not posting sooner, I’ve been working 84 hours a week for last 3 weeks. Ok, fortifications defend with 2 d12 and hit on a roll of 5 or less, all defending infantry and artilley defend +2.  All this is for first round of combat only.  Hope this helps. Also for fortifications we don’t purchase any because they are so strong. If you wantto be able to build fortifications then I suggest increasing the cost….alot, maybe 20 ipc’s

      @belislesteve:

      hello, I calculated the American territory, it has a value 80 ipc, and RUSSIAN 47.

      In the setup you ipc 75 states, and for Russian 45ipc

      Or is the error

      yes, I made a mistake! The US should get 80 IPC and Russia should get 48 IPC. I will update the setup charts and repost.  Thank you for pointing this out!!

      @belislesteve:

      SETUP: THERE IS NO UNIT FRENCH OF THE 2 TERRITORY, FRENCH INDOCHINA SAIGON ???

      THE SETUP IS CORRECT

      This is correct. If you want put 1 Infantry piece in siagon. If you had militia or light infantry it would be diufferent. In 1939 there were no modern(1939) division size French military units in southeast asia.

      I tried getting this map printed and it was gonna cost me $240. Coach’s prices for these printed maps are very resonable and very high quality!  IMHO.

      Trucks could cost 4 IPC and transport 2 infantry. This could allow you to have mobile infantry and mechanized infantry……Mech being more armored infantry.

    • RE: 1939 Map

      I like the idea here except for the heavy tank taking 2 hits. Either make the cost 7 or attack at a 5 and defend at a 4.  In a D12 system heavy tank could attack at a 7,8, or 9. Not too much of an advantage but enough to make it worth the purchase. Also like the idea of light tank +1 if attacking inf only.

    • RE: Marines

      Marines should cost 4, but limit production to 2 per turn up to 6 or 8 total on board at any time. I play a D12 system and they attack at a 3 in standard combat and a 4 on amphib assaults.

    • RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread

      FMG,
          No matter if people were told there was going to be a PzIII or not, the point is the 2 tigers being made don’t allow for different variant rules and can’t be used to properly represent different size tanks. Doesn’t seem alot of thought was put into the german armor. On the flip side all the pieces look great and the different units are a breath of fresh air compared to the OOB pieces. IMHO, probably should have done a light-medium tank.

      @cdog44:

      Sorry, i rock, I’ve been busy lately. You would place the battleships in a line from left to right in there places on the battle board. Then, for every hit your battleships ( probably won’t have more than 2 BBs in a single battle) take, you place a gray chip to the right of the battle board. The chip on the left would represent a hit for the corresponding BB on the left, the one to the right would do the same thing.

      I got black chips to represent hits for my naval units. Also Historicalboardgaming.com is making roundel size markers to show hits also, comming soon!!
