      Wonko……

      1. Chinese can build infantry and artillery only, fighter is provided by the US and only 3 infantry may be placed in a territory prt turn.

      2. As of now, no. But I think it is a good idea especially I Russia is at ear with Japan. May have to add something here.

      3. I’m gonna say no just to keep this more of an Axis vs Allies game. May include a Russia seperate scenario later.

      4. Chinese units may attack or enter any Japanese held territory and any territory not owned by UK, except for Hong Kong…Burma off limits but FIC is fair game.

      5. Minor Axis- attack and move on same turn as Germany only after they have been activated by Germany. This means until activated they do not build or collect income.

      Love the questions, I see my game is only 85% complete!  LOL I’ve played this game twice now and it is super fun!  Especially if you can get to round 10 or further.

      In a global game you would really only need Inf, Art, and Fighter!  IMHO

      I’m gonna revise these rules because I think a defending tac bomber and bomber shouldn’t have to use roll so low if there aren’t any attacking fighters. 10 infantry attack 6 infantry and 2 bombers, and bombers have to roll a 2 or 1 to hit….I’ll revise an repost in next day or two.  As for your question, attacker announces where his aircraft will be in combat. This will make th attacker really think about how to deploy his airforce. Also if this is over a territory with AA gun and defender has no planes then there is an AA roll.

      I need to improve this …thanks for all the comments

      @Sgt.:

      Btw, great map, and I like the rule additions. Especially light aircraft carriers! I’m making a deluxe set for myself and am also including the light cv’s. Tons of fun for smaller powers.

      thanks, I love playing AA and this game. It has been in my head for almost 20 years and now I’m able to make it come to life! About Air Cap, if the attacking force has fighter in air cap and lose the air cap battle, then all attacking aircraft left ( air tac ) have to use defensive values during combat. Example- attacking  tac bomber with enemy fighter winning air cap battle, tac bomber attacks and hits on a 4 or less. I’ll revise this rule and post it in next day or two with better explanations.

      @Captain:

      I know you guys have been playing it( tigerman77 and coachofmany) and i just noticed:
      there is only 4 spaces betwen normandy and washington, so that US can invade/liberate france directly from US coast in one turn, just wondered if that made a negative impact on the game.

      I don’t think so. Lets face it, when the US comes into the war does it really matter? Honestly no, it’s like that on the Global map also

    • RE: 1939 Map

      @bachus:

      Hi,

      I’ve have some additional questions:

      1. Naval Bomber and Naval Fighter:

      Did those planes can attack land units or only ships? If they can also attack land units can they use the target capability on them? Since they have the same value (other than ipc cost) then regular plane if they can attack all type of units, why someone would buy regular plane?

      Naval Fighters and Tactical bombers fight just like regular fighters and tactical bombers except they can target ships if they are the attacker.

      1. Can fortress be captured or they are treated like a normal land unit?

      Fortress is destroyed if the territory is captured.

      1. Romania: In the rule it say that Romania have 6 ipc but it is only 4 on the map…

      When the Germans occupy Romania they collect 4 IPC’s and Romania will get 6. Romania will get 6 IPC’s per turn until it is captured.

      1. Minors: If we give the ipc to germany did the minor can still use the “build in” minor industry to produce german troops in theirs territories?

      Yes, once germany occupies the minor axis countries Germany collects the posted IPC value per territory and this activates the Minor  axis to get their set income. Use this income to build for the minors. Each minor axis places builds in its home territory

      1. Can germany attack Vichy France?

      No

      1. Did Anzac and other UK minors move and attack at the same time (In global40 Anzac have a seprate turn…).

      Yes

      1. There is no naval base in marseille which was an important port for the french, is it normal?

      I know there was a Navasl base there but it wasn’t major enough, and it doesn’t make a difference in game play.

      1. If you attack a strict neutral did it become allied with axis or the allied depending on which side attack them?

      If you are Axis or Alliies and you attack a strict neutral and do not defeat them, they imediatly turn to the other side.

      1. How technology work? Since there is no log sheet or any info that can give us the way we can acquired technology. Did there is another document or chart somewhere?

      Until I come up with a Tech chart just announce what tech you are rolling for and keep up with your progress in that tech.

      1. Before the us is at war did the special situation (ex: Germany/Italy attacks Great Britain +20 IPC’s) really give an extra 20 IPCS to the us or it simply help the US to reach faster the needed 80 ipcs to declare war on axis?

      OK, to better explain this. If i’m the US and it is turn 1, I start out with 20 IPC’s to spend but my production level is 0. So at the beginning of my turn I roll the 2 D6, lets say I roll a 7, so at the end of turn 1 I collect 7 IPC’s. On turn 2 lets say just for example the Germans try sea Lion and Attack Great Britain, Then at the beginning of turn 2 for the US I woiuld roll 2 D6 and lets say I get 11. So with 7 from turn 1 and 11 for turn 2 , also 20 because Germany attacked Great Britain. So at the end of turn 2 the US would collect 38 IPC’s , continue this until 80 is reached. (If you Have 76 and you roll 12 you collect 80)

      Remember this is to simulate a ramp up in the US economy plus the willingness to go to war. When you reach 80 IPC’s the US declares war on the Axis.

      1. Paratroopers: During a paradrop did the pratrooper attack at 4 or 3?

      Paratroopers attack at a 3 or less on the turn they are dropped. After that they fight like regular infantry. On the setup chart it should be a 2* instead of a 3*  Good find

      Thanks,

      @Captain:

      but do you use units for neutral ? i dont have neutral units, and do you have several sets of units? i dont think i have enough units to play it, for example i only have G 40, and that has no yamato battleship…

      For neutrals I use US pieces from my other games and painted them white. If you don;t have any extra pieces then don’t set them up. It isn’t important to have them set up, just most people perfer it. For the Yamato I just panted 2 Japanese Battleships yellow or you can use the red ones from the 1999 pacific game. Go to Historicalboardgaming.com and you will find all you need their.

      One more thing i didnt understand,

      on the setup chart, it says; 4 inf in finland, but on the map there are 3 different territories in Finland, Torin, Helsinki and VIipuri. so where should the inf be placed?
      all in helsinki ?

      Helsinki.  Thanks for that find!

    • RE: 5th Japanese Pacific NO should be offered to UK as well>

      @Idi:

      @Razor:

      I think that NO is historical correct.

      The DEI produced a lot of crude oil during WWII and that made it valuable. But you have to refine crude oil into gas and diesel before you can put it on your tanks and trucks, so since DEI is a short way from Japan, this oil was more valuable to Japan, that could put it to good use in no time, than to USA or Europe that had to sail the crude oil to the other side of the globe in order to refine it to gas and diesel, and then sail it back again to use it in trucks and tanks at the frontier.

      So your trying to tell me Australia had no refineries?

      I’m sure they did, but what was their refining capacity. I think the Allies are stacked enough, without the extra NO

      @bachus:

      Hi,

      I would like to try your variant next week-end but I have 2 questions:

      1. What is the rule for fortification?

      Is it really +2 for all infantry for the first round or as I saw elsewere +2 by infantry when matched 1/1 with a fortification? And also can you buy new fortification and place them anywhere you want? Even on the first turn you conquered a teritory?

      1. What is the rule for strict neutral?

      Can you attack them whitout any penality?

      1. What is the exact rule for the american submarine at 3?

      2. Where is the best place ot obtain the latest version of the rule and the setup?

      Best,

      #1 All infantry defend at a +2 on the first turn of combat. We played that you can’t purchase fortifications, but I suggest if you do that they cost at least 20 IPC;s and you have to own the territory for a turn before you can place.

      #2 I left the strict neutrals alone and , they are neutral and are not swayed one way or the other. I am looking at a rule to be able to sway a neutral to your side.

      #3 U.S. torpedoes at the beginning of the war were very unreliable. I think the pre war stockpile were 75% duds.

      #4 I’ll post the latest revision of setups and rules Monday  night.

      Hope you enjoy the game, some feedback on how your game goes would be cool. One word of advice : start early and plan to play late, the game doesnt really start to get fun until round 8. also If Japan and Russia are not at war then allow Germany and Japan to move at the same time. And until Russia enters the war allow them to move with the UK. This will allow the game to progress faster until all countries are at war.

      Thanks,
      Adam

      Actually the US focused more on Germany than Japan, historically. This was because of Churchill and Stalin! Germany posed more of a threat to them than Japan!

      Sorry guys, You should  be  able to veiw this picture.  This weekend I’m also experimenting with Naval Tac bombers and Fighters for the US and Japan.  Naval Tac cost is +1, Att/Def is same except, while attacking if Tac rolls a 2 or less, naval Tac can target any naval vessal of its choosing. Same with Naval Fighter except naval fighter may target any unit!  Tell me what you guys think.  My veteran fighters are yellow like the infantry and my naval Tacs and fighteras are Blue like my jap marines.
