@monsieurmurdoch I am not sure how these house rules would interplay with 40 since the scope of warfare was so different. Hospitals and ambulance customization could. I hope you can find a 1914 game. Keep an eye out. And, I do have some plans for barb wire, trenches, etc. Thanks for the feedback!

I have attached some house rules that I’ve developed and been using in A&A WW1 1914. I have a play through solo game up on my YouTube Channel of game play with Tjoek’s custom map, OOB rules, house rules, and use of custom miniatures. Please check out if interested. I also use an added house rule for German East Africa which I cover in a video on my channel as well as use it in my current posted game. The house rule set up for A&A WW1 1914 in addition to OOB includes 1) Germany one machine gun Berlin, German East Africa one machine gun, 2 infantry, and a Cruiser in SZ 26; 2) Moscow one machine gun; 3) Vienna one machine gun; 4) U.S.A. Washington one ambulance.

These house rules are complete, however, I am working a number of other house rules for this game. Stay tuned! I welcome any comments and feedback.

@conor Keep an eye out on eBay. Most oop games I know can sell for outrageous amounts, but a good used copy with pics may be a way to go. Good luck.

Hello. I am The Plastic Commando located deep behind enemy lines, otherwise known as TN, and enjoy Axis and Allies in its many versions. I undertook a mission to revamp 1914 with custom miniatures and house rules to improve the quality of the game. Thanks to Tjoek and his 1914 map it has really given life to my efforts. @Tjoek I know my print shop had to save to PDF format and they did adjust the size. I got a proof and the size change did not seem to impact either the quality of the map or color. I dropped off my thumb drive and got the final product in 4 days!

Absolutely beautiful Tjoek! A work of art in my humble opinion. Got it today 48x48 on scrim vinyl. It rolls up nice and despite a few creases in the pic lays flat. The colors are eye popping and that Holland roundel looks awesome! 😉

I will be discussing the map further at some point on my YouTube channel. Sincerely, just an outstanding job.

@Tjoek Hey Tjoek, I kind of like the sea zones without a submarine icon. It stays true to the other zones of the map without icons. 😊

@Tjoek Well now that you mention it, Holland looks a bit different with the crest in the roundel. I’m not noticing a second roundel different lol

@Tjoek Absolutely…Wow! You did an amazing job on the color capture and with the roundels. The map looks so much better without the gray port symbols on the board too, and of course, the cleaned up Sahara area. I compared your map to my game board and really am not finding anything to add or critique. For some reason my zoom of the map the further I go in somewhat distorts the names on the board, but as long as they are clear and crisp when printing out, I think the map looks great.

Do you think the final map will print out well around 48x48 in size and keep the detail?

@Tjoek I see what you mean on the detail part. All in all it’s looking great though. 👍

@Tjoek The brighter map sure does stand out. I suppose too bright could cause glare of overhead lights. I think a Matt finish would tone down some of the brightness.
