Well, it is worth 8 ipcs to you. So not quite at your leisure. But don’t kill your whole air force to do it.

RE: Mech Infantry or Artilleryposted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
but if you had to choose between the two then artillery. they should really never have any territories left that are more than two spaces away from india anyways. Artillery allow you the ability to attack, while mech inf give you the ability to move lots. Although India should do little of each, it’s conceivable to be doing an attack or two before you die. But not a huge movement.

They can be used in pacific 1940. And they can be useful to. But i believe that their full potential will be revealed in Europe.

RE: Why are there Canadian roundels? A new rule perhaps?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
I resent my deleted post. I was completely on topic and broke no rules. I do not play hockey. I am not 12 years old. And I live in Texas. And despite all of this I still want Canada!!!. And if it takes 100 posts to get my (and i suppose all of the 5 year old canadian hockey players) point across then so be it. Bottom line and answer to the forum question… Larry put Canadian roundels on the board to ignite popular rebellion for the Canadian cause. My theory was that he really wanted Canada as a power, but was held at gunpoint by Gloating Australians (who were so happy at finally being superior to Canada and wanted to keep it that way) and was forced to come up with this “recognition” statement. It’s really a secret message for Canadian supporters to unite. :-D

RE: Why Canada should have been a semi-separate powerposted in House Rules
@Brain:
Oh no. Another please add Canada to A&A thread. :roll:
Not gonna happen.
The roundel is only for the recognition of Canada’s war effort.
We are an unstoppable force. We will not give in. You unbelievers in Canadian separateness can not stop us. Independence for Canada!!!

Yea, that’s what I do. When the Burma road is lost, China needs to become as annoying as possible.

RE: Misprint for United Kingdom in A&A Pacific 1940posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I say that the next game needs Canada, special neutral rules for Finland, and vichy french rules (and, depending on the time period, poland as well). Why be picky and only make a few improvements? :-D

I seriously hope that this “recognition” thing is a foreshadowing of a new and better game with Canada

@Dylan:
It was pretty good, it inspired me to make my own alternate risk map! :-D
are you DylanAraki? Welcome! And i think that you can make your own map on the site. Not sure how though but I know that people do. We should play sometime (I could teach you a few tricks :lol:)

@Dylan:
well then why did they put Canada’s logo on BC and Yukon Territory thats really messed up and is confusing
To give us false hope for the Canadian power that we will not have but definitely should have. It might make sense not to have Canada in Europe. Maybe. But ANZAC and not Canada in global? How does that make sense?

Awesome Risk site!posted in General Discussion
I thought that since axis and allies is a strategy game, that people here might be interested in another strategy game… The classic RISK game! This is a really fun online site that has not only the original risk game to play, but also many other different maps and variations to the game as well (one of the countless many being doubles). Along with tournaments and forums, it hosts over 20000 active members in it.

RE: Do you want canada as a powerposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
@Brain:
@The:
I’m still working out exactly how I will make the U.K. rules, but one thing is for sure, they won’t be blunt and half-assed like the simple split board line that this game is using. I will try to make them as realistic as possible.
Please post your UK rules when you are done.
Will do. But be prepared to wait until a couple of weeks after Europe. I will have to play the original game a few times first with my friend.

RE: Power Groupings - Global Gameposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940

@Brain:
The nine player game would quickly become an 8 player game with the inevitable elimination of France.
Well, if you had a good group (like the dream a and a group) you would take a full day and make it like an event, with drinks, meals, all sorts of stuff. Role for powers, and then kind of make it so that an eliminated power b/c an advisor/co-controller with someone (a good example being France and Britain).
Or the eliminated french player could make lunch for everyone :-D
In that case, I vote that my grandma plays as France :lol:

RE: Is there the soviet union?posted in Axis & Allies Pacific 1940
I love it. Well thought out and seems historic and fair. But only if you’re one of the people who think that Pacific 1940 is unfair to begin with. If you think that the game is fair, then this will tip the game in favor of the allies (although japan “can” capture the russian territories, come on, 18 infantry?)

this is a stupid thread made by someone who didn’t look at the board for more than 1 minute. let’s get a mod to close it down.

RE: How will Rommel get to Africa?posted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
There will be a fortress Malta. Depending on whether it can survive turn 1 it’s could cause some major problems from Italy.
Turn 1? It never fell and you’re talking about taking it turn one? Why? Surely the Italians have more important things to do. I mean, yea, it’s “a light in the darkness” and a thorn for Italy, but it will be worth nothing ipc wise and will take up valuable troops that could be spent better on capturing Egypt. I haven’t seen the board yet, but i don’t think i’ll be willing to make this “dedicated push” that larry says is required to take malta until i dominate most of africa as italy. anyone else thinking the same thing?
