The 8th Northen European A & A Wiking Con is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

In Late 2025 we’ll announce the exact dates.

All games during this event are OOB Axis & Allies Global 1940 games combined with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

All Axis & Allies players that participate must be able to play with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

Players who play with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules for the first and second time during a Wiking Con event are playing with only a limited number of rules from the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

Those rules are attached (pdf file) below.

For the players who have participated 3 times or more the entire Expansion Rulebook is included, with a few exceptions:

Exception 1:
In Section II, the following units & rules are not included:

Increased Ship Building in the Pacific Theatre (US & Japan) German Atlantic Wall Fortifications

Exception 2:
In Section V (Optional Rules) the following units & rules are not included:

German Volkssturm German King Tiger unit Heavy Waffen-SS Panzer unit Rocket units US Heavy Transporter unit German Type XXI U-Boat unit

Exception 3:
The following Optional Rules are included:

Combat Engineer unit Waffen-SS Assault Pioneer unit FLAK Tower unit Strict Neutral rules & units Air Fleet Commander unit & Air Fleet Waffen-SS Panzer General unit & 1st Waffen-SS Panzer Army Elite Tank unit & Elite Waffen-SS Panzer unit

Important:

Each game is scheduled to last no more that 15 hours At least 10 rounds must be played (Late 1944) Each side (Axis side & Allied side) will have an average of 40 minutes for each round Winning Conditions are described in the G40 HRE rulebook at pg. 11

We have corrected a flaw in the text (number) of Soviet Infantry units in Novgorod.

The total number of Soviet Infantry units in Novgorod is 17.

Please refer to the Global 1939 Expansion rulebook at the top of this thread.

This is the release of the Elite Tank unit rules and the German Elite Waffen-SS Panzer unit rules.

These units are powerfull in both attack and defense.

During the final play testing in Late 2024 we concluded that Elite Tank units should be part of the G40 HRE Tournament Rules that are used during the 2026 G40 HRE World Championship.

The Elite Tank unit rules are also attached to the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion threat.

The rules concerning Air Fleet Commander has been clarified & updated with the following:

“An Air Fleet can only attack from or defend in a territory or an island.”

yes, I like the addition as well. I could see reasons both for using it and not. You can’t replace French troops and they do have the ability to reinforce a British newly conquered TTy.

Giving the Brits a couple extra dudes that could be used in LCV attacks along with the Ftr would be nice too. Especially as UK has a lot of mouths to feed IPC wise.
Ftr can also help against U-boats.

Anyway, it’ll be fun to try out. I like having the option. I will add for next triplea update, although it’s a pretty easy edit but we might as well make it as push button friendly as we can :)

The G40 Waffen-SS Assault Pioneer unit rule is now available at the top of pg. 1 on the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion thread.

The Waffen-SS Panzer Jäger unit is available for production from Early 1944.

The number of Waffen-SS Panzer Jäger units is limited to 2 units.

Further play testing is still ongoing.

We expect to be able to release the Waffen-SS Panzer Jäger rulebook no later than 16th December 2024.
