2025: Axis & Allies Global 1940:

• 0 Defeats (Axis)
• 10 Victories (Allies)
• 12 Victories (Axis)

The conditions for participation has been revised:

Scoring System:

• A minimum of 9 points are required to qualify for the Axis & Allies Global 1940 Expansion World Championship
• All games that count towards the minimum score must be recorded and published at the Global 1940 & 1943 Game Report thread at this forum with supporting pictures and text.
• All players must be a member of Axis & Allies.org

Note:
How to score points in order to qualify for the Axis & Allies Global 1940 Expansion World Championship :

During an Axis & Allies G40 Wiking-Con event the scoring points are registered like this:

• Winning player: 3 points
• Draw (a): 1 point to each player if both players have played same number of G40 HRE games (+/- 2 G40 HRE games)
• Draw (b): 1 point to the player with most played G40 HRE games - and 2 points to the player with less played G40 HRE games.

During any other Axis & Allies G40 HRE event (if players either play at home or at any A&A event other than Wiking-Con) the scoring points are registered like this:

• Winning player: 1 point
• Draw: no points to any player

When playing on TripleA the scoring points are registered like this:

• Winning player: 1 point
• Draw: no points to any player

Important:
In addition to the above Scoring System any player will score 1 point each time that 10 G40 HRE games are completed - both the winning player as well as the losing player (also both players by draw).

Both TripleA and board games count towards this score.

Note:
All games are registered during any Wiking-Con event.

Each Game Table is scheduled for 1 game only during this Wiking-Con. This means that the time limit for each round does not follow the Tournament rules.
A new time limit for each round is agreed by the players just before the game begins.
At least 12 rounds of play must be completed (Late 1945) unless Victory is achieved earlier.

Information about this event has been updated.

The 8th Northen European A & A Wiking Con is scheduled to begin in March 2026.

In Late 2025 we’ll announce the exact dates.

All games during this event are OOB Axis & Allies Global 1940 games combined with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

All Axis & Allies players that participate must be able to play with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

Players who play with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules for the first and second time during a Wiking Con event are playing with only a limited number of rules from the Axis & Allies Global 1940 HRE rules.

Those rules are attached (pdf file) below.

For the players who have participated 3 times or more the entire Expansion Rulebook is included, with a few exceptions:

Exception 1:
In Section II, the following units & rules are not included:

• Increased Ship Building in the Pacific Theatre (US & Japan)
• German Atlantic Wall Fortifications

Exception 2:
In Section V (Optional Rules) the following units & rules are not included:

• German Volkssturm
• German King Tiger unit
• Heavy Waffen-SS Panzer unit
• Rocket units
• US Heavy Transporter unit
• German Type XXI U-Boat unit

Exception 3:
The following Optional Rules are included:

• Combat Engineer unit
• Waffen-SS Assault Pioneer unit
• FLAK Tower unit
• Strict Neutral rules & units
• Air Fleet Commander unit & Air Fleet
• Waffen-SS Panzer General unit & 1st Waffen-SS Panzer Army
• Elite Tank unit & Elite Waffen-SS Panzer unit

Important:

• Each game is scheduled to last no more that 15 hours
• At least 10 rounds must be played (Late 1944)
• Each side (Axis side & Allied side) will have an average of 40 minutes for each round
• Winning Conditions are described in the G40 HRE rulebook at pg. 11

Where do you live ?

Before you sign up you should notice those subjects:

• All participating players must be familiar with the entire Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion rulebook and the Optional Rules & Units that are described as part of the Tournament rules (see above).
• We have decided that the 6th Northern European A&A Wiking-Con 2025 is scheduled for 1 game. So we have more than enough time to finish this game.
• At this point there are 8 players signed up - all are Veteran Players (minimum 10 games G40 HRE)
• Each game is 1 vs. 1 (1 player controls all 3 Axis Powers and 1 player controls all Allied Powers).
• To participate you must have completed at least 3 games of G40 HRE - either on TripleA against at least 1 other player or on game board against at least 1 other player.

The last time The Captain was defeated was by Dark Knight in March 2020 playing the Axis.

In Late 1942, a Japanese Naval Task Force with 7 Transport units, 2 Destroyers & 1 Cruiser unit in Sea Zone 36 was attacked in wawes in this order by:

• 5 US Fighter units from Philippines (all US Fighter units were eliminated with the loss of 2 Japanese destroyers )
• 1 UK Cruiser, 1 Destroyer, 1 Fighter (all UK units were eliminated with the loss of 1 Japanese Cruiser and 4 Transports)
• 1 ANZAC Destroyer + 1 Cruiser + 2 Fighter units (only 2 ANZAC Fighters survived with the loss of the remaining 3 Japanese Transports)

The Japanese offensive operations in the Pacific was halted and the Japanese units in China were cut off from any reinforcements until Early 1944.

This was the chance that the Allies had waited for - and an Allied Economic Victory was achieved in Late 1944.

We have corrected a flaw in the text (number) of Soviet Infantry units in Novgorod.

The total number of Soviet Infantry units in Novgorod is 17.

My suggestion would be to contact Renegade (and maybe also Mr. Larry Harris) at first - and ask if they are interested at all in starting up this massive project.

I imagine, that most G40 players - if not the entire Axis & Allies Community - would also have to support this effort.

I suggest that the following should also be considered:

1. Who would purchase this game ?
2. What would the cost be ?
3. What are the future plans for this game when the game is completed and ready for sale (any expansions in the future etc.?)
4. How many games must be sold before it is a succes?

Is the new Axis & Allies North Africa a succes ?

Since 2023 we have discussed the developement of a similar project in the Danish Axis & Allies Association, based on the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.

We concluded that the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion (G40 HRE) was more than sufficient enough to entertain G40 players for at least the next decade.
So we decided to keep developing the G40 HRE by gradually adding more complexity and multiple options over the coming years.

We have informed Renegade about this - and announced that Renegade can use any units & rules from the G40 HRE for whatever they want (for free, naturally).

The Danish Axis & Allies Association is of course available for further information and help.
