      Yes - in example 2, only 1 Waffen-SS Army is active during the attack, since only 1 Army (any kind) can be active in the same territory.

      If these two Waffen-SS Armies were part of an Army Group, the German player would have 2 dice at “4” during the attack in each round of combat for as long as the Army Group is intact.

      During board games, of course it is much easier to maneuver these complex formations.

      The major advantage in TripleA is, that you can agree on the time frame in which to play the game - this could be several months - and you could even play several games simultaneously.

      This option is - mostly - not possible during FTF.

      Nonetheless, no matter if you play FTF or TripleA - once you,ve played Global 1940 with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion - there is no going back…

      Any Nation - even if not at War - can destroy a facility that this Nation controls from the start of that turn.

      To destroy a factory/industrial complex, it must be converted to an Underground Factory on a previous turn - and it must also be controlled from the start of the turn where it is destroyed.

      The Soviet Union has - as the only Nation - the option to destroy any of its industrial complexes any time during the game.

      This is described in detail at page 21 :+1:

      @nolimit

      As you’ll see, when the complete rulebook with set up charts is released, the outcome of the War is not settled yet.

      1943 was the year, when Germany finally implemented the Total War concept. The Axis Powers still had options to alter the outcome of the War - not by outproducing the Allies - but by taking advantage of every single advantageous opportunity. And by planning a decisive and superior strategy - without any flaws. And carry it out with determination.

      In the game there is no bureaucracy - no internal conflicts in any Nation, that could weaken the War effort. Every single decision is made with one goal only - to win the War.

      The game depends solely on what strategy players might choose - and how these strategies are carried out.

      It is truly a big challenge for the Axis to win the War. And there is no room for errors… or else, Germany & Japan will have to fight for their lives.

      You’ll experience massive Panzer Armies and Army Groups from the very beginning of the game. Within a few rounds, some of the most famous combat units of World War II are available to the players. This will bring even more options to get your Nation closer to Final Victory.

      The Axis & Allies Global 1943 House Rules Expansion will definitely bring tons of fun and challenge - even though the game is playable in a few hours.

      @imperious-leader
      Thanks for your comment:+1:

      As you’ll discover, when reading your way through the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion (Section V, page 52), German Volkssturm units can be activated when Germany’s IPC level is 21 or less. Certain rules concerning Volkssturm units distances these units from any other unit in the game.

      The Army Board: Reichshauptstadt Berlin Defence Area is used in conjunction with the Volkssturm units.

      Soviet Red Army Conscription is part of counter balancing the mass of German Waffen-SS Armies, Panzer Grenadiers, Panzer Armies etc. that will storm towards Soviet positions and strongholds along the entire Eastern Front.

      Remember;

      Only 1 Tank Army can be active in each territory.

      If you have 2 Tank Armies in the same territory - no matter if they are part of an Army Group or not - only 1 Tank Army is active. The total number of dice rolls for these 2 Tank Armies would be 16 (10 dice for the Tank Army that is active - and 6 dice for the second Tank Army).

      This is the case both during attack and defense.

      Thanks:+1:

      Hopefully you and your play group will find fun & challenge.

      In order to play the Global 1943 scenario, you’ll need to be familiar with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.

      A quick way to get started, is to play with the Global 1940 Basic Expansion at first.

      After a couple of games, you should be ready to start playing with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion - and then the Global 1943 House Rules Expansion.:relaxed:

      Is it possible to fix TripleA for Global 1940 Basic Expansion - before finishing Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion for TripleA ?

      We bought the map file from Siredblood - and had the company Elephant Print to print it for us.

      The map print is self-adhesive plastic - and coated with self-adhesive transparent foil for further protection.

      We now have 22 game boards like this one, so that most of our active FTF members each have their own enlarged game board: dimensions: W:93 cm, L: 245 cm including Army Boards, Naval boards, Expanded National Production Chart.

      @superbattleshipyamato123

      Since the development of the Axis & Allies Global 1943 House Rules Expansion is based on 168 completede Global 1940 games - using the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion - it would probably take at least as many OOB G40 games to have some solid foundation for an “OOB” G43 version.

      My suggestions to you would be:

      1. Use the OOB G42 version as a starting point for a G43 scenario. Discuss with your play group, how many games should initially be played in order to have a G43 setup ready. Play test that G43 scenario multiple times - until you and your play group have sufficient game experience with that game - in order to make the game balanced. Post your final result in “Other Axis & Allies Variants” since there are no house rules in it.

      2. Search the forum for 1943 scenarios - several players have made their own versions. You might find some inspiration.

      3. Play a couple of games with the Global 1943 House Rules Expansion - and see if this is for you after all.

      Since all members in each of our play groups play the OOB G40 game using either the Global 1940 Basic Expansion, Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion and the Global 1943 House Rules Expansion it would be impossible for me to motivate any players to “go back” and play the OOB game, simply because the fun & challenge would not be comparable to what they experience by playing with the House Rules Expansions.

      As with all other aspects of game designing, naturally there are some that requires more thought and skills.

      And that’s exactly what applies to the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion, Global 1940 Basic Expansion and the Global 1943 House Rules Expansion.

      In order to fully understand the game mechanisms in depth - and get the big picture - of course players must play the game multiple times. By then, each individual player has a better insight - and is able to bring usefull and constructive feedback.

      Luckily, we’ve received such feedback from players inside - as well as outside - our play groups. Both during play testing and later during real time gaming.

      By now, we are experiencing a growing interest in Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion, Global 1940 Basic Expansion and the Global 1943 House Rules Expansion as more and more players get familiar with these rules.

      Our goal is to bring tons of fun and challenge to Axis & Allies players - this is our contribution to the Axis & Allies community.

    • RE: Global 1940 Basic Expansion

      @barnee

      Today, this morning, when we started playing Global 1943 House Rules Expansion, I had to look up some rules myself in the RULEBOOK Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.

      So, even though we designed the rules and have used them for several years - we still have to refer to the rulebook occasionally. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to remember everything.

      Anyway - it’s part of the fun & challenge:relaxed:

      For the most part, we don’t necessarily use all the units & ruiles included in the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion, even though they are available.

      It all depends on the strategy that each player has planned.

      Some units are more popular - and needed - than others.

      Hi barnee,

      The Rules Clarification at page 1 should be helpful - it is mostly based on questions that came up during your construction of the TripleA version.

      Revised editions of Rules Clarification will be released continuously as questions keep coming in.
