Pardon if this is a basic question.
If I attack a space with land units and capture. Can I move more land units (that have not yet been used) into the same space in the non-combat phase to reinforce it?
Thanks,
TCPJ

Wait, Japan gets +5 bonus for EACH Calcutta, NSW, and HI? I thought it was +5 if you have one or all of them.
Don’t forget the movie Pearl Harbour where a guy in a tower shoots down a plane with a gun…
Good point, good point
Whenever I have 1 defending infantry against 1 inf., 1 art. and 2 fighters, I need only channel Cuba Gooding Jr. to hold the territory…

Whenever stuff like this comes up you just have to remind yourself, “it’s a boardgame.”
I didn’t mean you were upset with krieg but you seemed to be upset with others because they told how they interpretted.
Don’t worry about him, he’s just ticked off that he’s been outfoxed on his premature Calcutta invasion and is hoping to get out of it with some rule minutia. Maybe once Kreighund confirms what we all know he’ll resort to the tried-and-true technique of sticking his fingers in his ears and yelling “La La La La La La.”
Yes, it does block.
Unless UK/ANZAC declared war on Japan first, if Japan declares war on UK then it is declaring war on all Allied players, including USA. If however UK/ANZAC did declare war on Japan first, Japan can retaliate without bringing USA into the conflict. Let’s assume the former is the case, because that’s what it sounds like happened.
When Japan declares war, it does so at the beginning of the combat phase, before you move units to their respective combats. At that moment all units of powers with which you are at war immediately become hostile. Thus, the USA destroyer is hostile and successfully blocks your fleet.

Powers do not collect income if they do not own their capital. In addition, the +40 is considered a National Objective Bonus and is not attached to the territory.
Kamikaze does not stop bombardment, unless you successfully take the bombarding ship out, but certainly doesn’t prevent bombardment from the whole fleet.
Kreig will confirm/deny in 3… 2… 1…
All you need to do is mail your old (inaccurate) battle-strip (as proof of purchase) and a return address to:
Wizards of the Coast
Attn: Product Replacement
P.O. 707
Renton, Washington 98057-0707
The customer service guy I talked to on the phone also mentioned that I should probably include a note requesting a new battle-board and the extra Japanese TBs, just in case.
Happy Rumbling,

War wasn’t declared until that late? How did Japan get through the stack of infantry in India? I’m assuming you bought all infantry in India, not aircraft carriers or something silly like that, right?
Does anyone do SBRs anymore?
We certainly don’t in our play group. It’s just not worth it anymore. 1) Because the benefit of damaging an IC doesn’t justify risking so many assets, especially when a damaged IC can be repaired in the first stage of your opposition’s turn. 2) The rules are so complicated now, ugh, KISS (like convoy disruptions).

fixed UK income from 16 to 18 (sorry for the mistake!)
Wait, why is anyone attacking Mongolia in AAP1940? Send those guys to India (if you’re Japan) or to the asian coast (if you’re China). If another power is attacking Mongolia then either a) the game is already over or b) you’re doing something wrong.
So if USA is sending a fleet in to the Japanese Sea Zone (sea zone 6) and is attacking Korea, can Japan scramble planes to defend the seazone? I think the answer is yes but I’m just making sure.
thanks
bump (shameless self-promotion)
I like the NOs, but I do have one comment. Two of the NOs are mutually exclusive. That is to say the Dutch West and East Indies are both a national objective for two powers: Japan and UK, and Japan and ANZAC, respectively. So really you only need one spot on the board for that national objective, but you mark it with the appropriate power’s maker whenever that objective is obtained. You dig? Just a thought… Thanks for the board though, it looks great.
Hello,
I posted a similar IPC record sheet for AA50 and AA1942 but I thought I’d post the one for AA Pacific 1940 for anyone that is interested, especially since the game doesn’t come with any monopoly money. It’s probably a little overkill but I think it’s nice to look back and see the overall game trends. I think it’s a pretty good way of recording a game in a fairly concise way.
The front page includes a place to record each power’s player and the date. In the “notes” part I record any significant battles large or small, war declarations, as well as interesting/unlikely events. The record sheet is one page (front and back) and consists of 9 rounds. When a game goes longer than 9 rounds, there is another double-sided sheet you can print off over and over again until the game is over.
Does anyone have a mid-game record sheet for AA Pacific 1940 yet?
