I have taken pictures of the new setup.
I just don’t know how to post them.

Global 42 Quicker, faster
The official 1942 setup from Larry Harris
ghr2 found this link somewhere and he posted it in the A&A variant forum
But since this is an “official” setup by Larry Harris, I taught it should be posted on the G40 forum. To sum it up… This is a 1942 game played on the 1940 maps. It will be
a much shorter game then the present 1940 Global game.Larry Harris

I haven’t tried it yet, but if any of you can, it would be nice if you posted a small session report to tell us if the game is balance and how long it takes

RE: G42
Nice Oztea 1941 and LH 1942 scenarios look very nice.
Can’t wait for your session reports!

RE: British units color
Thanks
They looked different but I wasn’t sure if they were really or it was simply the light. -
British units color
Are the British units same color then the one from the other editions?
-
RE: Pieces compatibility
Thanks
I read somewhere people complaining about the dice saying they were too small and felt cheap. -
Pieces compatibility
I was looking forward to buy pieces of AA 1914 from HBG (I don’t own the game)
I was wondering if the chips fit with the one from 1940 2nd edition
Are the roundels the same size?
Infantry sculpt are the same size then other games?
And could somebody upload a picture of a dice from 1914 with one from 1940 to see the size difference? Thanks :)

RE: Will Buy if..
I found this website
http://www.meeplemart.com/products/axis-allies-ww1-1914They sell A&A 1914 for 80$ and shipping is only 10$.
Still, I wont buy it but if you are interested take a look. -
RE: What about Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal?
Basically, if I have x hours to play:
10 hours: Global 1940
8 hours: AA 1914
6 hours: Europe 1940/Pacific 1940
4 hours: Spring 1942, 2nd Edition
3 hours: BotB/Guadalcanal/DDay
2 hours: set up Global for a future gameThat is why I wanted BotB/Guadalcanal/DDay for shorter play. I have AA 1941 for short plays, but I think its a bad game, not enough piece, multiple errors on board and rulebook. Plus the game is really unbalanced.

RE: What about Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal?
I have Pac & Europe 1940 2nd ed 1942 2nd ed and revised. I dont feel the need to buy Anniversery, specialy for 300$
I taught theater specific game were something to look at -
RE: What about Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal?
Forget the price
Can you tell me what you liked/disliked about the game
I read some review and most of them were favorable, but I would like opinion from the people of this forum that have, for the most part, played all the AA.

RE: What about Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal?
So D-Day is not worth 40?
For the piece or just to try something different? -
What about Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal?
I didn’t know where to ask so I came here.
I was disappointed by AA 1914 (didn’t buy it, I just feel its not worth 100$)So I have to turn toward older games.
Are these game fun? I know they have a different rules. Can you guys tell me what you liked and disliked about those games.
And if I come across them for 40$ brand new, should I buy them? Thanks

RE: Why is this version cheaper than 1914?
What would those be? Besides AA guns? Artillery are in Global, which is before
5 Anti aircraft artillery the new Brit (25 pounder) and German artillery (LeFH 18)
New Russian sub S class and the new Brit sub T classSo it’s in fact 9 new sculpts (my bad)
1942 2nd ed came out before global 2nd ed -
RE: Where to get if in Canada
At 100$ + 15% tax it’s better if you order from the US and pay 40$ shipping LOL
Still don’t understand the MSRP price, says 100 but they sell it at 65$ in the States -
RE: Why is this version cheaper than 1914?
It is cheaper because they already made the pieces and the map is smaller. The rules are also a reprint, so it was easier all around.
1942 2nd ed has more piece 410 vs 400
It has 10 new scult (1914 has 14)
Both have new map but 1942 2nd ed is biggerOnly thing, AA1914 has new rules and a about 6 times more dices
1942 2nd ed 42$ ( for the year in which the game takes place)
1914 100$ ( for the 100th anniversery of ww1)
WOTC, I see what you did there…. -
RE: Where to buy Axis and allies 1914 for a Canadian?
Depending on where you live. If you are in a big city like Montreal or Toronto, you can look for small board game shops that don’t necessarily have a website or sell from the Internet.
If you live in a more remote area, well you have Amazon. So unless you can find in a store, be prepared to pay at least 110$. (which is IMO overpriced)
PS: If I finally get convinced that this game is worth buying, I will buy it when I go to the US. Where it can be bought for 65$ (and IMO again, even at 65$ I think this is overpriced when you can buy AA1942 2nd ed for 42$)

RE: Where to get if in Canada
Normally I buy from starlit citadel but they don’t have it. You can try contacting them to see if they can get a copy (very friendly costumer service)
They are in BC so shipping will be less that if you order from the US.As for the price, they sell AA pac 2nd edtion and AA europe 2nd edition for 80$ each. So if they manage to get some copies you should expect a price from 80-95$
IMO, I think this game is overpriced, even if you buy it at a store for 65$ in the US.
The best option would be to buy in th US if you happen to be there (what I will do if I buy the game)
If not , in the best case, you are looking around 110-130$ for the game and the shipping. -
RE: Countering KJF as Japan in 1942SE
Build a factory on mainland Asia on turn 1
Then try to engage us fleet ASAP to wipe it to delay the US
If you cant, stay defensive, use your fleet to protect transport bound for Asia to counter Britain production in India
Let the US engage the naval battle
This should buy enough time for Germany to crush Russia and send backups and even try Sealion -
RE: Not Enough Pieces!!
Yea back in 1997…. What they have a price freeze even though costs have run up?
I was talking about europe 1940 2nd edition and pac 1940 second edition
