      Yes, my US1 move generally includes the Ftr moving from Flip to Guam in anticipation of flying to either DNG or landing on the US1 CV purchase that will arrive in SZ26 depending on if J2 attacked and allowed a US DOW.  Moving it to a less valuable location such as Guam means Japan will have to decide if taking out a US Ftr is worth not taking a more IPC valuable resource location with its limited TT.

      So in short, yes I meant the US Ftr that starts on Flip.

      I move my fighter to the Solomons and then back to Pearl Harbor. An extra scramble really helps.

      I gets it now: there are 36 techs on 6 charts. Roll 1 die for the chart and 1 for the tech.

      If that’s what he means definitely no.

      I build carrier w/ 2 fgt. and fgt. and sub for Pacific US 1. US 2 I build 4 subs. Pull subs back, and you have a serious counterattack. If Japan blocks they lose a DD and they either have to build $8 DD’s to stop $6 SS’s (and US has more IPC’s), if not fleet gets hit bad.

      Quick answer: no.
      1. You’ll lose mainland ($11 plus opportunity cost of $12 from Chinese tt’s=$23 lost by Japan).
      2. Chinese can advance onto Hong Kong and take it back.
      3. Chinese can take Burma, putting you in trouble if you want land-based invasion of India.
      4. Allies use China/Korea as base.
      5. Screws up your lines–isolated in India, Siberia.

      When I saw this I thought of an idea I had: Holland/Belgium is a capital starting game in enemy hands. It has minor IC and NB. If liberated, Allies can choose whether to hold on to DEI or return to Holland.

      I’ll consider it. I’m hoping to get mainly Pacific ships (i.e. no Germany, Italy, etc.). Although I could use some German planes for Pearl Harbor  :| :| :|

      Yes, but some of the games most powerful Planes are land based, ie. kondor, Mitchell and sturmovick.  Not to mention corsairs and FW 190’s

      Well obviously Patrol Bmrs can’t go on carriers, but what I’m saying is you shouldn’t have 5 Zeros stuck away on your land airbase unless you lose carriers.

      Also I’m kinda annoyed that planes can’t be trapped on sinking carriers  :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:.

      hmm, sounds alot like Baltimore or Montpelier to me :-D

      Probably Montpelier because it’s starter and everyone has it.

      OK. I’m debating between this (starter+1 or maybe 2 booster) or naval miniatures (4 booster; I have starter).

      What is your opinion?

      War at Sea is by far the best and simple game out right now imho for the mini’s franchise.

      But if set 1 of angels 20 goes out of print, expect some major value $ to go up

      I bought 3 War at Sea boosters (1 Surface Action, 1 Flank Speed, 1 Condition Zebra). Coming in <1 week.

      If it was an April Fool’s joke, don’t you think they would have run it on their main page as an announcement, not on some obscure distributer pdf that someone caught at random?

      And I agree with others that the joke is over the same or next day.

      And yes, it had been talked about back in January on Harris’s site.  Here’s the link.  We knew soomething wqs up back then.

      I had to put Axis powers in one box and Allies in another because they are hard to tell apart sometimes.

      I believe there’s some ID under the ships. At least there is for revised starter. I’ll be able to tell you about this for boosters in <1 week.

      Note that torps ignore armor/vital armor, making them good vs. BB’s.

      If you’re using LOTS of planes, use lots of carriers. That simple. You can’t have a ton of land-based planes that are stuck away for 1/2 the battle.
