      I prefer Carriers to DD’s, Cruisers, or BB’s. Subs are my second favorite.

      IMHO Carriers are so much more versatile, and if you pair them with a DD…still strong vs. subs.

      I think I will do the cruiser-move-3, 4 with Naval Base thing.

      My friend is obsessed with cruisers. It does help me win…, but I think 3-3-3-12 gives cruisers their advantage, like all other ships (DD’s anti-sub, BB’s 2 hits+bombard, Carriers carry planes, subs convoy raid, transports…transport).

      Sending Japanese units to Western US is wasteful.

      Without Germany, they’re crushed.
      With Germany, they’re essentially stuck doing nothing overseas for a few turns.

      I play AAG40 to some success. I think you need to impose a time limit and be sure there are no distractions. I like the Germany/Japan at the same time deal, but when you have 2 players it obviously wouldn’t work.

      Wouldn’t matter for me. I don’t attack anywhere besides China and sometimes USSR J1.

      It’s usually J2, or if the Allies pull back, J3 when I strike.

      I think that it should be the 1st round that Japan declares war.

      And it should be all territories -1, or 1 territory all at 1.

      Again, I don’t have the rulebook but in Alpha+3.9, I believe the rules are:

      1. Japan must have kamikaze tokens
      2. The SZ must have a kamikaze symbol
      3. The SZ must be under attack from surface warships

      Odd question:

      I tend to play without limits on the number of breakthroughs per turn…although that never matters.

      And another problem is

      a. Canada will be building/have units. If the Germans barely make it ashore, then they could be hit by the British.

      b. If you don’t do Sealion or Barbarossa, there’ll be quick/easy landings in France or Germany and the Reds will easily march into Eastern Europe grabbing the easy NO…

      I see no way that this is a good idea, unless you can sneak it off from Gibraltar and TAKE EASTERN US.

      Anything else, the US just crushes your expeditionary force.

      Overall not a good idea–you don’t need any of those VC’s.

      Plus I don’t really like Sealion anyways  :-D :-D :-D

      Um…regarding Sealion+India Crush.

      When that’s done USSR will be able to go after Germany, and if they advance on Germany the NO’s really help.

      US will also be ready to crush whoever is closer to victory.

      Also, if you play the game out further the allies have a better chance when Sealion is attempted.

      Honestly I’m not a fan of moving out of the Med–if you can do what happened historically and cut the Afrika Korps off from supplies, game over for Italy. Whereas moving to the Pacific side of things is slower and will likely have less of an impact vs. Japan.
