The role of the British is cannon fodder as always. They are like speed bumbs that slow the aggressor while “The arsenal of democracy” are gearing up production.
Disappointed by this remark tbh :(
I thought all forces would keep the player engaged.
Ok, so from what I have pplayed in aa50, the brits are mainly focused in the european theatre. But what about pacific 40. Will the brits be engaged and have a lot to do? Or be like an italy type power which is not really the main power of the game?
Any thoughts?
In other news… Field Marshall games can import the game for me from the US. W000tttt!!!
Is there anymore news on where to buy this game in the UK? I don’t have a local gaming store in Liverpool to support and I had to import AA50. I’d rather buy from the UK to get a prompt delivery.
Anyone else from the UK know where to pre order this game?
You can pre order on the US site, where can we pre order on the European site :(
OK maybe your not english so i’d like to inform you that NOB is an English colloquialism reffering to the male extremeties.
hi jen, thanks for the rules. I have a few questions though.
How does rolling for research work now? Do you just pick a tech and if you roll a 6 you get it?
does Italy place their afrika corps every round?
Do you place 2 free infantry every turn for mech inf? And what does 1. Borrowed from American National Advantage mean as the usa do not have this advantage
The italian advantage ii. +5 IPC if Axis controls: Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Italian Africa, Gibraltar, Balkans, Algeria/Morocco and no enemy SURFACE ships are in SZ 13, 14, 15 or 16. isnt this the same as the regular no ? and where is Italian africa?
Thanks :)
Whoops :P
I just like rule heavy war games and find AA50 a bit lacking. Very enjoyable… but a bit lacking.
Most of it is probably down to player skill but KGF is the only option.
I hear that CMDR Jen has updated the AAre enhanced rules to work with AA50. Could anyone point them out for me please?
Thanks a lot :)
Comments noted ^^ hehe… Last question…
I might give the sub rules and the Russian winter rule a go on Friday when I play in my play group.
In your opinion though… What would be a rule to give the axis to balance it out.
Germany buys an AC in the baltic? ?
Not in my games… What would be the bonus of that? I suppose coupled with the cruiser and subs you have the beginnings of a fleet. but ive used the subs round 1 to kill UK fleet.
I see :)
Have you playtested these rules? They sound fun on paper. Id like to see some strategic sea warfare effect the game.
I think in early rounds though its going to be hard to get Germany to part with IPC’s that are not for ground units. and if the allies park a fleet in the channel it can just go and kill the odd sub as an when it pleases as they come out of Germany. Or they could park 2 or 3 destroyers there and just let Germany waste money on subs while the red army buys more land units.
Unless you close the Baltic via NW europe.
Even later in the game if the allies are winning germany is just going to turtle… buying subs would spell death for germany.
I dont understand the mechanics of them is what I mean.
How does it all work in game… I don’t understand how it works from reading the description.
Thanks mate :)
I’ve also been looking at your gaming site and some of the boards there look amazing. I’d love you to produce an advanced version of axis and allies with loads more spaces and pieces. I’d pay a lot for that ^^ I also trust you to playtest and balance the game xD
Also, what if any do you think the ramifications of using the “both sides can retreat” rule. It looks good on paper for prolonging the game… but would it unbalance it?
I’m not sure about the convoy rules…
What is the point of having the convoy zones? Germany only has 1 and loses it if the allies get Scandinavia (which is a given). Why roll a d6? I just don’t understand them at all.
Thanks for your help mate your comments are appreciated.
I’ll see how it goes using your suggestions.
