I generally prefer to place a factory in captured French Indochina. I invariably take it on J1, and the factory there allows for some decision on whether you want to send troops to China or India. It is quite versatile and a handy place to put it IMHO. Also, you can build some ships easily to take money islands.

I agree. All world leaders have their flaws, but only some realize them as such and act around them. People like Hitler and Stalin did not, I’m afraid.

RE: Shore Bombardmentsposted in House Rules
I see your point, and I do like the idea of supporting any attack. It does make more sense to me that they can bombard a bit more, it seemed almost like a talent wasted with the OOB rules.

This sounds like an interesting idea, but why just BBs and cruisers?

I think this unbalances the game. Unless something can shoot back, the ships will have no problem wiping out defenseless units. It’s a neat idea though

I personally enjoy the UK the most. Not only are they a good, balanced nation, but there are some nerve racking moments as almost all of your territory is pivotal for the Allies. In our games the UK is probably the hardest to succeed with and has a challenge that comes with it, keeping the Allies in tact.

RE: New Battleship Abilityposted in House Rules
Doesn’t this ruin the point of taking a naval escort in the first place? As stated above, transports could be easily destroyed regardless of their escort, which makes it useless. Just a thought.

RE: AA capabilities for big shipsposted in House Rules
I really like the idea and have toyed with it myself, but I think it should be limited to capital ships only. Cruisers are already a good unit with a relatively low price, and I think that giving them this new ability with the same price could potentially create a a frenzy of cruisers on the board.

RE: Adding value to naval basesposted in House Rules
I like your original idea, but what about carriers? They were the most important ships to keep afloat during the war, and a great deal of repair was done for them as well.

RE: New Production Facilitiesposted in House Rules
These new bases sound great, but would it be a good idea to let tactical bombers STB a minor factory? It just seems like their bombing capabilities are near to useless so far.

Vichy France Houseruleposted in House Rules
Hey, I came up with a house rule and could use some feedback. I felt that the Vichy France regime was an important historical faction, and wanted to include them, so here goes…
Once the territories of France and Normandy Bordeaux are under axis control, the Axis can choose whether or not to make Southern France the capital of the remaining French territories, now under Axis control. However, all French units in or adjacent to an allied territory become under British control. When any occupied French territories in the mainland are liberated by the allies, the Vichy units all disband and the territories become Allied again, with the exception of the units and territory of southern France, which remains Axis.Feel free to comment or criticize, it can’t hurt!

Thanks YG! The cards are a nice touch for the game and we enjoy using them. Thanks for all the work you put into making them usable for us.
