Hi
Is this the 6x3 map?, 35" X 72" = $39.95 on Bond…$89.95 on vinyl
Because it seems this will be a bit to long for my table, if I downsize the map a little more, will it still be playable? No overcrowded territories?

You can get the map on a 6x3, will that work? Any smaller and the territories may be too small. If u want it smaller let me know and I’ll send u the map in a PDF file.
Hi
6x3 ? How many inches?, or cm? Height and Lenght? I would love the map in PDF file.
I got two gaming table, one that is height 90 cm x lenght 175 cm and height 75 cm x lenght 135 cm. In inches that would be, 35,4 inches x 68,9 inches and 29,5 inches x 53,1 inches.
Would one og these tables be big enough?, maybe the smallest one, 29x53 inches?
before I made the 39 map I used the world at war rules with the AAglobal map. It took a little work to adapt the rules to the map , but it worked really good. I used minors and neutrals also. Although it was still a 1940 game. Take the rules for my 39 game and try them on the global map. Right now I have too many projects going on and would have to stop and make another map, wish I could help. To be honest the 39 global game isn’t that much longer to play than the AA global game, 2 turns maybe. You should try it!
Adam
Hi Adam
The biggest problem is the size of the map actually. And I have no hardcore A&A friends, they like A&A, but they rather prefer a game that not take to long time to play.
Anyway, the size issue, is the map still playable if I downsize the map a little?, my biggest concern about downsizing the map is overcrowded territories, do you think this will be a problem?
Hi
Is there any chance you guys will make a smaller 1939 map?, same size as A&A Global?
This map is great, but it is just to big for many A&A players, and it does take to long time to play, and it is to many territories. I really would like a 1939 map same size as Global fewer territories.Any game that starts in 1939 is going to take longer to play. The 39 game starts two turns before the global 40 game. If you want a 39 game that has isn’t broken up as much try xeno games world at war. It is a good game.
Hi
I actually have the Xeno game, World At War and I like that game, but the map is crap compared to yours. I really like the A&A Global game, the only thing missing there is that Poland, Norway, Denmark and the Dutch was Neutral Territories.

Hi
What will be used for US. MECH INF UNIT? Maybe a standard army jeep? A Ford GP or Willy MA / MB?
Hi
Here is what I will do, You can rail as many Ground Units as you want in the Non-Combat-Movement.
But only units that have not moved. It is also restricted to territories you have owned in the beginning of your turn!
It is also restricted to the territories IPC value, a territory can only rail / receive the same amount of units as the IPC value!
A territory with IPC value of example 5, can rail up to 5 ground units or receive up to 5 ground units!
A unit can only rail through, up to 4 territories!, and they have to link.
Another way to solve this is that you can rail from/to territories that have a Major or Minor Industrial Complex.
What are you thoughts about this?, do you think railway should be included in the game?
Look at Zeno games Axis and Allies World at War rules. that has rail movement.
Hi
I do have that game, and like the way rail movement works in World At War.
But would that way be the best for A&AE40 or A&A40Global? I do think there should be some limitations, how many territories you should be allowed to rail through, and how many ground units/capacity you can rail each round.
Hi
One thing missing in Axis & Allies is the possibility to rail forces.
What about a Train Station cardbord counter?, territories with a train station cardbord counter could rail ground forces in the Non-Combat Movement Phase. Though only units that have not been used in combat, they also should have some sort of limit, both how many units they can rail, and territories they can rail through. What about 4. territories?
Or should it be, rail from one train station cardbord counter to another train station cardbord counter?
Or it should be limited to only original territories at the start of the game?
Anybody else got some thought about this?
Hi
If I would like to start the game earlier, and invade Poland. What would be right ratio/forces for Poland?
4-5 Infantry, 1 Artillery and 1 Fighter?
Hi
Railway movement should only happen in Non-Combat-Movement Phase in my opinion.
Maybe there should be a limit, of how long/many territories a unit can rail through, example 4-6 territories?
Also, maybe the rail limit should be lower for continent like Africa and Asia then Europe, since there was much more railways in Europe then in any other continent. Just some thoughts.
The easiest way to include this is, no railway marker at all.
You can rail from wherever to wherever you want, it takes part in the non-combat-movement and a unit have a limit distance of 4-6 territories it can rail through.
For the sake of simplicity a Railway Station token similare to the Naval Base and Airbase, that all cost 15 IPC and add one extra move to any who start from this positions, and act under the same SBR-rules, will IMHO be our best solution, man. All the other suggestions will only add more pages to the rulebook and arreta/FAQ, man. New solutions means new confusions.
Hi
I dont like that at all, makes no sense in my opinion to add one extra move! I think we should be able to move/rail as long/many territories as we want. Example: Russia should be able to rail units from Soviet Far East to Russia in ONE TURN!
I think Xeno game World At War have a good solution to this.
That more I think about this, the best solution would be Railway Station Markers, That you can rail from one Railway Station Marker to another Railway Station Marker/or from a Railway Station Marker to any own hold territory, as long as they link, this would also make cities starting with Railway Station Marker very strategic and important. Also very important that this also is related to territories IPC value, if the territory have a IPC value of 10 you can Rail 5 ground units from that territory.
Another way is to give each continent a specific Rail Capacity that each nation can use in their Non-Combat-Movement.
Anyway, below the railway rules in Xeno Game, World At War, I think they are good.
11.0 STRATEGIC RAIL MOVEMENT
Strategic movement is in the form of rail capacity with each nation having its own rail capacity. Strategic movement takes place during the Non-Combat Movement portion of a player’s turn. This rail movement of land based units is unlimited in distance, provided that the player can trace a line through friendly held land areas that is un-interrupted by any enemy areas, does not cross a neutral border, and does not cross a sea area. The Suez Canal and Panama Canals do not block rail movement.
Only units that did not move during combat movement are eligible to use rail movement.
Germany has a rail capacity of 4 usable in Europe and Asia.
Japan has a rail capacity of 2 usable in Asia.
Britain has a rail capacity of 2 usable in Asia, Africa and Europe.
U.S. has a rail capacity of 6 usable in the Western Hemisphere.
China has a rail capacity of 2, limited to Chinese areas only.
Russia has a rail capacity of 3, usable in Russia. 1 of the 3 can also be used in Europe.
France uses British rails.
The U.S. and Britain/France may use one another’s rails. The rail capacity of a country is the amount usable for that player’s turn only, which means that during the same game turn Britain could use up to 2 rail movement, and the U.S. could also use the British rails on its turn and rail 2 U.S. units.
Europe consists of Poland, Rumania and everything West of those areas. Africa is all of the African continent up to Egypt. Asia is all of Russia, as well as everything east of Trans Jordan, all the way to Malaya and up to Kamchatka. China is included in Asia, and refers to all original Chinese owned areas. The Western Hemisphere is North and South America.
@Brain:
thats pretty awesome how many territories would the rail go through?
I think the idea is that you can move across as many rail linked territories as you control.
I like this to, but this should also be related to the territories IPC value.
Example: Germany has a IPC value of 10, then Germany has a Rail Capacity of example 5, means he rail up to 5 ground units that did’nt move in Combat Movement Phase, in the Non-Combat Movement Phase. And you should also be able to across as many linked territories you control. And maybe the IPC value of territories also should count for how many railed units a territory can receive. Example: East Poland have a IPC value of 4, you can rail up to TWO ground units per turn to East Poland. And you can only rail FROM territories that have a Railway marker!
I dont like the idea of, that a railway marker makes you can move one extra territory/space! Makes no sense, that a armor can be railed 3 territories, and infantry rail 2 territories!
Or maybe we need Railway Station Markers, so we can rail between railway station markers! But this should also be related to IPC value of territories, the railway capacity!
Sorry for my bad english, just my thoughts of this……
How about this NA for Germany, to replace the V2 NA:
Waffen-SS
Volunteers from all over Europe joined the Waffen-SS, to fight with the Germans. At its hight, this armed wing of the SS consisted of 38 divisions.Once per turn, you may place one infantry for free in Germany.
Hi
I actually use this as a NO for Germany.
But I called it SS Division Wiking (German Foreign Legion)
-The division was formed around three motorised infantry regiments. Germania, mostly ethnic Germans. Westland, mainly of Dutch and Belgian volunteers, and Nordland, mostly Danes, Swedes, Finns and Norwegians. This takes part in Germanys Purchase Units Phase, if Germany control Western Europe & Scandinavia, Germany receive 2 additional infantry units at no cost, these units is considering volunteers from those areas and countries.
Now that Mechanized Infantry enter the game, maybe it should be Mechanized Infantry at no additional cost?
Hi
I hope they include Paratroopers in the Global Game that is to be released.
I dont know if I like the idea of this being a tech, it would be better if this was something all nation/players could “invest in”.
Everybody should be able to buy a “paratroop marker” for paratrooper academy, that allowed the player/nation to start to build paratrooper units. A Paratrooper could cost 1.IPC more than normal infantry (for training), Movement 1 (same as normal infantry), Attack on a 1* and Defend on a 2 (same as normal infantry).
A Paratrooper should be transported and dropped by a Bomber or/and Tactical Bomber.
*Paratroopers should attack on a 3 or 2 first round of combat, as a special ability, then attack on a 1.
Maybe a Bomber should be able to transport two Paratroop units, and Tactical Bomber one Paratroop unit?
They also should defend like normal infantry, I see many want them to defend on a one because of light equipment, but they are also a special/elite unit, so despite lighter equipment than normal infantry, in my opinion they should defend on a 2 because of better training!
Hi
I been playing with Paratroopers a long time.
I have been using these rules :
-Paratroopers cost a additional 1.IPC (This for the training)
-Paratroopers is transported and dropped by Bomber
-Paratroopers attack on a 2
-Paratrooper revert back to normal infantry after attack
If the game should include a new special unit piece, example Paratroopers or Paratroop markers, I think it should cost 1.IPC more than a normal Infantry Unit because of the training. It could have an attack of 3 or 2 first round of combat, than 1 as normal Infantry and defend on a 2 as normal Infantry. If people dont want to use their Bombers as transports for their Paratroopers, Paratroopers could have a COMBAT Movement/Range of 6, this would make the Paratrooper Unit unique & special. In the Non-Combat Movement Phase it should only have a movement/range of 1 as normal Infantry.
Hi
Bomber should of course BOMB under the attack as well!
Hi
Paratroopers/Airborne Units could have these rules!
Airborne units should be dropped from bombers. One bomber could carry one infantry at a cost of 1IPC. (Airborne Marker)
Paratroopers attack on a 2 first round of combat.
If Paratroopers win, they defend on a 1, until they get supply, either through other friendly ground forces come to that area or through Airborne Supply (Airborne Supply Marker) dropped by bombers in the non-combat movement at the cost of 1IPC.
When supplied they are considered as normal infantry and defend on a 2.
If Paratroopers attack an area together with other ground units they revert back to normal infantry after the attack.
I personal also like the idea of a special infantry/mechanized infantry for each major nation, but it should be a limit how many you can build each turn or you can have active in your game, maybe a limit of 6 and a limit of 2 build each turn.
Hi !
I will buy at least one COMPLETE SET !
Is there any chance of including some special infantry at these sets?
SS Panzergrenadiers / Waffen SS
US Marines
British Commandos
Russian Guards
Hi El Capitan !
Very nice work, your playing pieces look awsome!
Can I ask you how you painted them, maybe I paint my own, but I want to know how to do it so I dont destroy my playing pieces.Thanks.
I just set up an area with drop sheets and used spray paint cans with paint safe on plastic. My Soviet, Japanese, Italian and Chinese were painted with paint bought at Home Depot.
My German, British and American I used some Testors Model Master spray can enamel paint.
As long as you use a paint safe on plastic your pieces will be fine. You could also use an airbrush if you have one. The longest part is laying the pieces for painting. I sarted by painting the back and/or uderneath, let it dry then turn them to paint the front and or faceup.
Let me know if you want the same paint colors/company.
Jeff
Hi Jeff El Capitan !
Did you prepare your pieces in someway?, washing and drying them?
Did you just spray the color right on your pieces?, or did you prepare them with undercoat?
